I wish there was something else, some new information to discuss. It's so quiet, nothing new. Just know you're not forgotten Malik.

Me too, I wish it sounded like more progress was being made from before the vigil. It looks like LE has a tough job ahead, as they keep in touch with the family and unravel this heartbreaking mystery. Little Kenny White's case seems so similar in so many ways, I hope little Malik is found soon.

Cindy Baker the White County Chief Deputy Attorney has decided to retire after 22 years. This is from the Daily Citizen News, it's a paid site so I can't link. I seriously hope this isn't why we aren't hearing anything about Malik.

The silence surrounding Malik's disappearance is deafening! As we creep closer to a brand new year, I had hoped (against all hope) that Malik would turn up somewhere safe. I can't believe this little man is still missing and, while I am sure the appropriate agencies are working away behind the scenes, his family are just so....quiet! Where are the appeals, the remainders, the tireless effort to keep little Malik in the spotlight. My thoughts are with his poor little twin, his closest loved ones and the community.

I hope he is home soon. :(

NEW MESSAGE ON SEARCY PD FB PAGE JUST NOW
The search for Malik and the investigation into what caused his disappearance are both ongoing and the top priority for Searcy PD with the assistance of multiple outside agencies.
We realize everyone's shared frustration and the desire for answers it causes. However, with any open criminal investigation, the information that can be released is very limited.
Our search continues but has narrowed for simple process of elimination. Naturally with a more narrow search, there isn't anything "new" the update the public about. When there's ANYTHING that can be released to our citizens, I assure you it will come as quickly as possible.
Thank you in advance for your patience, continued support/encouragement and most importantly for your continued prayers for Malik.

- Jeremy Clark, Chief of Police

Chief Clark and others from the SPD were at the vigil, as well. He seems pretty committed to finding Malik.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – It has been exactly one month, and there are still no leads in the disappearance of Searcy 2-year-old, Malik Drummond.

http://www.thv11.com/story/news/local/2014/12/23/searcy-toddler-missing-for-one-month/20825327/

Hard to believe it's been a month. :(

I saw threads on two more missing little boys, Tristan Blue and Jayden Morrison - both "wandered off." In Tristan's case LE arrested his parents less than 24 hours after his disappearance - dad's charged with murder, mom with child abuse. They haven't found his body yet, which makes me wonder what probable cause LE found in the parents' car that led them to arrest mom and dad.

If something bad was done to Malik I wish Searcy PD could find evidence that compelling. :( I'm not mad at them, I guess I'm just frustrated; Malik's been missing for so long and we're not hearing a peep out of LE. I continue to believe they know what they're doing but it seems to me that if Malik's family are not involved in his disappearance then maybe it's time for them to say so as rumors are getting ugly.

I just want to see Malik's case resolved, no matter what. He shouldn't be out somewhere in a cold, abandoned place, no matter what.

In Tristan's case, as you said, his parents were arrested pretty quickly. And sadly, in Jayden's, they found him in the water. It was an accident and he drowned. If Malik had just wandered away then I think he would have been found during the extensive searxches. jmo

From your link:

I'd love to know what Chief Clark meant by "narrowed" and "simple process of elimination." It sure sounds like Searcy PD is onto something that they can't share right now. Like I said earlier, the calm before the storm...

In Tristan Blue's case a neighbor reported seeing him on December 19 so we had a bit of a timeline as to when he was last seen. We don't have similar info here. Chief Clark said Malik had been with his dad and "stepmom" for about 2 weeks.

I've been thinking back to Malik's twin sister's interview - it was reported that she wouldn't talk. It makes me wonder what questions the interviewer asked. IOW, the focus was on finding where Malik went; did they also ask if she was in the living room playing with him that evening?

They questioned a 2 year old? :notgood:

Apparently Malik's bio mom took her to a children's advocacy agency, White County Child Safety Center, where one of their services is conducting forensic interviews. I don't know if she did that on her own or if LE arranged it.

From 11/25/14:

Malik and Aryanna's mother Tanya Drummond and Grandfather John Clifton spoke to KATV on Tuesday said she took Aryanna to be examined on Tuesday.“She went to Children's Safety over on Race street. They tried to get her to talk to see what they could find but they can't find nothing, she won't speak," Drummond said. "She don't want to talk to nobody, she... is very shy, she'll start to put her head down . She knows something's up, she knows something ain't fitting right.”

Oh how I hate that we began the new year without word on this sweet little boy's whereabouts. :(
