ST. FRANCIS CO., Ark. (WMC) - A group of teens made a grisly discovery on Tuesday.
A body was found on the side of County Road 731 near Hwy 334 in St. Francis County, Arkansas, around 4 p.m.
The sheriff’s office says a group of teens found the body, an adult woman, inside of a tote box.
The body has not yet been identified. The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the woman’s identity and cause of death.

On Tuesday February 20, 2024, at approximately 4:00 pm investigators responded to a call on county road 731 just off Hwy 334. The body of an adult female was found on the side of the road. The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of death and to identify the body. The investigation is on-going, and no other details will be provided at this time.

Since there is not a lot of information, then Makayla C Smith (MP114431) is a possibility. This all depends on if this woman gets a NamUs listing by the state crime lab and it shows that she could be a younger female. I did notice that this area is near Memphis so it could very well be a Memphis or western TN MP as well. Though I do not discount that this woman could be someone who has not been reported missing.

Micah Lacy, 45, of Forrest City was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree murder, abuse of a corpse and a felony weapons charge. Bond was set at $1 million, and he will be arraigned Monday.

Glad there has finally been an arrest! I remember hearing about this case a few months ago and kept wondering what happened and when an arrest would be made. Rest in peace, Troy. May her loved ones find peace, and may justice be served to the fullest extent.

FORREST CITY, Ark. (WMC) - The St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department has announced a second arrest in the Troy Alexander Strope murder case.

Corey Jerome Anderson, 41, of Madison, Arkansas, has been arrested and charged with abuse of a corpse, a Class C felony.
