A report came in that a local farmer, Quake Lewellyn, has confessed to police that he hit Sydney Claire Sutherland, resulting in her death and then fled the scene. Police are reporting there is no indication she was hit by a vehicle at this time.Joel Ledbetter 5NEWS Photo Journalist

Going back to the article posted about 3 generations of farmers, it looks like Quake’s mom married a Lewellyn (Michael) in 2006. (Q would have been about 14). I imagine he was adopted by the stepdad afterwards. (Or at least took his name)

So far they aren’t giving any details except her body was found and he’s in custody - most of the answers by the sheriff tonight were “I can’t answer part of investigation etc” - we need to await the arrest warrant I guess JMO
