Snipped just to save space, Des. I have had some strange thoughts about the discovery of the body, too. BUT: the cadaver dogs had "partial" hits. Neither one had a definitive hit. And they didn't even both hit in the same spots. Dogs are like humans :crazy: Somedays they must have sinus trouble or something! Remember the dogs searching for Jessica Lundsford were unable to track her ACROSS THE STREET. So the dogs don't worry me too much.
It IS worrisome that the area was searched at least twice and nothing found, particularly if Tim Miller was correct when he said the bag had been left ABOVE ground and never buried. It has happened in the past in other cases that areas were "throughly" searched and a body found at a later date, so this wouldn't be the only time a search missed a body left right out in the open. BUT I do think the defense will attempt to use the fact that the body was not found by searchers early on, nor was it found when the police were back to investigate the 'bomb' to mean that someone ELSE placed Caylee there later than those dates. And since Casey was accounted for after those first searches, then they'll say it could NOT have been Casey.
Just heard on Fox and later CNN that TV cameras were within 20-30 feet (of where Caylee was found) back in August when the ground was dry.........no smell etc........
kc friends told tip line Caylee would be there, but she wasn't. Only white plastic bags and party garbage. Then teen age boys tried to tell LE the same??? 3 months ago about small grave? Rain came. Now the find. The reporter from Fox said, was KC in jail? Did someone else move Caylee there after news team was out of there? Why didn't dogs track from back yard to there? Just wondering what is going on now..........

One woman said off camera Wednesday that she was part of a Texas Equusearch team that scoured this area. She claims to have photographic evidence that proves the remains were not there when they searched. Investigators reviewed the photos and took her statement. Per WESH.
This is really going to hurt the case if these remains weren't there before KC went to jail. However I think they were. They may have floated up or down to where they are but I believe they were there. Also, some animal may have drug the bag to that spot from somewhere not too far away since the remains appear scattered.
Did she supply the video to GV on Fox as well? It showed the area dry as a bone in August.
I just put this in the Daily Updates thread, but thought I would post here too:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
WESH 2 News at 4pm has reported that a TES Searcher, who searched the area where the remains were found, TOOK A PICTURE of what the area looked like during TES' first and second search attempts, which shows the area was completely under water. The searcher turned the photo over to the investigators as well as answered questions.
The searcher only answered one question by the media and drove off.
No link available yet. Will update the post when the story goes up on the net.
Update - here's the link to the story (about 3/4 way down: http://www.wesh.com/news/18299352/detail.html
That's great to know FK - and welcome to hear. On another thread, someone was posting that Phil Keating had a video from Aug. 5 where he went 20 feet into the woods in that same spot and it was dry. I haven't been able to locate the video, but the comment was posted today and referenced to Studio B on Fox (Shep Smith) releasing the info and playing the clip. I got worried.
I wonder also if Casey didn't spray the body/the bag/the clothes, etc with pesticide and if so, would that perhaps not confuse the dogs.
The dogs wouldn't have tracked to the body from the backyard unless someone dragged it there. They can't scent from one place to another when something has been moved in the trunk of a car.
Why do so many people have a hard time wrapping their brains around the fact that the area was under water plus the fact that the foliage was thick and the utility worker went back in there far enough that he would not be seen. That means the bag was not that obvious. Sorry, but there seems to be no let up on the spin and doubt making, fitting though for the land of Make Believe and Unreality.
Well, to me (and I'm speaking just for myself) it is very troubling to me that no odor of decomp was detected by any of the neighborhood kids who frequent the area. No odor of decomp was detected by the teens who found the bomb very close to where the body was discovered. No odor of decomp was detected by police officers who responded to the bomb situation....and the body would have been in full blown decay at that time.
Now, if I speak from my feelings, I'll say that I feel as though Casey killed her child, and that Casey alone dumped the body in the same area the body was discovered. But the questions are going to create some legitamate issues for the defense to bring up. Especially why experienced law enforcement officers who were surely aware of the proximity of the "bomb" to Casey's home didn't smell or see the bagged body lying so close to where they were.
Hear me out before moving this post or commenting. This has been driving me nutz since she was found. IT IS TOO STRANGE that her body was found less than 1/3 mile away from their house.
Cadaver dogs can hit and actually follow a trail once they do. RE: Scott Peterson for example. They actually followed from the Petersons' driveway, all the way to the Interstate.
Ok now there were two sets of dogs that hit. Also there were more dogs that were brought in to search, many searches done by very qualified people.
Little bones are hard to find in deeply wooded areas. A BLACK GARBAGE BAG ISN'T that hard to see.
She actually was preserved and not discarded as many of us thought, thus the protection of the plastic bag. The alligators didn't get her etc etc.
The A's were conveniently out of town when she was found, Lee hasn't shown his face.
Chickasaw Trail is a trail kids and others travel !! SHE WASN'T BURIED, SHE WAS IN PLAIN SIGHT WHERE A FENCE HAD BEEN ERECTED EVEN !!
GA said this needs to STOP !! He's been trying to tell LE in his own way, without CA interferring.
Obstruction charges being bantered about, directly from the Sheriff. What does this leave to the imagination?? Not too much when you put it all together.![]()
If they were there in Sept and I believe they were, like Sept 9 to 21st it WAS UNDER WATER. The Hurrican was Aug 17 and it rained prior to that, but in June and late July it was dry. So if they searched in Sept, would they smell decomposition if the body was under water and most of the tissue was gone, and this body was scattered thought out the woods?
Perhaps I can shed some light here and dispel some rumors.
The area where the "bomb" was found, is at the very end of Suburban east of the school, in an open field. It is NOT near the area where the remains were found.
As far as traffic on that road, it is nonexistent except during school hours. End of June, thru end of Aug, would have seen no children going down there at all, as it is a dead end road. This would have allowed for several months of decomp. In adddtion, there was a 31 day lapse before the police were notified, so it would stand to reason that full decomp may have already been in the advanced stages.
Hope this helps.
I'm bumping this due to the new information regarding the PI taping the area. I felt it was odd the body was overlooked then and now I'm tongue tied. Very unusual for me. :waitasec:
The meter reader's three calls were before the hurricane. He sees a bag, he sees something "round and white that looks like it doesn't belong" but he doesn't smell a thing. And the area is high and dry at that time, not covered with water.
The officers who responded to his calls don't smell a thing.
The cadaver dogs don't smell a thing when they go through the woods.
I don't know that a person is capable of smelling decomp from underwater, but I know dogs are.
It just strikes me as very "hinky." I think the defense is going to argue that the body was NOT IN THE WOODS in August-----so whoever put it there, it can't have been Casey.
THANK YOU!! I always warn everyone to take Nancy Grace with a huge grain of salt, and it's HER who said the bomb was found close to the body and it's ME who just took her word for it! UGGGGHHHHHHHH.
In regards to children playing in the area, it would seem to me that this particular part of the woods was too overgrown and swampy to be much of a play area. But there is a fence in the background of the pictures of the crime scene, and it appears to be the fenced in backyard of a home. Wouldn't they have smelled anything? I truly believe that if Caylee died soon after Father's Day (and I think she did) then there would still have been an odor in the middle of August when the meter reader made his persistant calls.
I know what you mean: WHAT ELSE can possibly happen??? If that PI did a decent job of taping and no bag/body is seen (or smelled) then it really, really works in the defense's favor. It would be so important if they could get the jury to believe the body was not there at the time of the taping, nor at the time the meter reader made his calls...........if they can get the jury to believe that, it's a small hop to convincing them that if the body was dumped later, then CASEY COULD NOT have done it.
I just don't know what to think.
Either way, if Casey left any fingerprints, it will not matter if the area was wet, dry or anything else. The defense will have to come up with a new story, and I think the next one will be that Zanny made her use the duct tape in whatever means it was found in at the scene.
