I wish they"d hurry the heck up and finish with his crap so I can stop following this case. Now I wonder if she's going to do a blubbering impact statement about how they are losing a family member again, it was all a mistake etc.
I’m with you on this, just holding my breath until CS has to turn himself in and we can put this whole thing away in File #13 without any other tragedies occurring with this family.

But little Parker we will remember for a very long time for all the wrong reasons😢

Ugh, most likely, huh?

In addition to lying about the time frame, Christopher lied to LE (& to Erika) saying he only went to the doctor’s office didn’t make any other stops; like the grocery store & the stop & shop/gas station. He claimed the girls arrived about 30 minutes after he got home. Did he think LE was just going to take his word for everything he said or does he just think everyone is as gullible as Erika? He should have been charged with Lying to LEOs and Impeding an Investigation!

DD age 5 knew that Christopher consumed beer every single day, and yet Erika told LE he had been sober for 3 mos which was approximately the time of their text session where she told him he drinks too much and he says he’s just a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 addict. I agree he is an addict & I hope for his sake he has been sober for the last 15 mos so he doesn’t go through withdrawal in addition to adjusting to prison life.

Yes, he certainly is an addict and maybe that allowed ES, an otherwise competent and capable person, to give him one chance after another after another after another.

BUT, he is also a pathological liar, even about things having NOTHING to do with his drinking. How could she possibly excuse that? Whyyy?

He lied about where he was and what he was doing almost constantly, including when he left the kids alone in the house and drove elsewhere in THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. How could she EVER trust ANYTHING he'd ever say?

The kids knew he was still drinking. Why did they not tell her? Did he coach them not to? Was it because they'd been traumatized by his infantile melt downs like what happened at Disney? He behaved like a toddler right in front of his kids and the general public.

Another thought: if these two have been married for at least 10 years, in a divorce, I believe she may have to pay out the wahzoo to 'equalize' the standard of living in the 2 separate homes in which the children would live. This used to be true and standard practice but I don't know if it is anymore. In the past,he would be entitled to a portion of her higher income as a doctor because he "supported" her in completing medical school by being a full time stay at home parent. This was the way it used to work.

Could anyone familiar with more recent divorce guidelines weigh in on this?

She obviously knew. Didn't she mention him still drinking in some of her texts? I think she was lying to LE when she told them he had quit. But I also think he was purposefully trying to hide his drinking from her most of the time.

IMO any of these could be true.

Or, sickeningly, maybe they were just used to it and it seemed not worth mentioning, since it was their father’s common behavior.

I appreciate that you have some compassion for him, but I’m not sorry if he suffers through withdrawal in prison.

He is the reason Parker suffered in that blazing oven of a car for hours.

He’s a grown man, he made his choices, and he’ll survive withdrawal.

Parker was two, had NO choices, and no chance to survive.

JMO but I detest him so much.

What is on the file please

It's between 200 and 300 pages long. Copies of many different documents, such as police reports of the actual day, autopsy information, and witness interviews, related to the case.
ETA: Some are graphic, IMO.

Pretty much. When your parent is an addict, you just learn to be quiet and stay out of their way. Their behavior is too erratic.

What is the point of saying anything? Your parents will just yell and cry. Better to just ignore it. And besides, the dysfunction is so normalized, the kids probably didn't know it wasn't "normal".

After reading that document, it is obvious that CS wasn't fit to be a parent or watch children. I have personally seen parents do a lot less than he did, have their kids taken away, and parents have to go to court, parenting classes, and substance abuse treatment.

Maybe Parker would be alive if CS had been called out. Probably not. People like this are usually surly, and non-compliant. They are full of self righteous anger for being called out on poor parenting. For a "one time occurrence". They are full of disdain, and don't believe they "belong" in a parenting class. Or substance abuse treatment.

And the cycle goes on. ES does need to "own" her part in this. She ignored his lack of parenting skills. And this is the result.

I wouldn't tell her, living in that house. Sounds like a recipe for getting spanked, sent to my room, and called a liar.

Kids in abusive households with a permissive/enabling parent learn pretty quickly what is safe and not safe to do and say. And these kids are very, very coached. The fact that one of them said something about it being 'hard for him to multitask' in their statements to the cops says it all. When did you last hear someone under the age of fifteen use the word multitask?

Do we have any local-to-them sleuths who might be able to attend sentencing? Because I have a feeling this is going to turn into a whole "He didn't meeeeeeannnn toooooo" fest and I would love for someone, anyone at all, to be there for Parker.

Good to know. I'm in Ohio myself, but almost despise this cretin enough to jump on a plane.

That document is a litany of toddlers wandering around the neighborhood unaccompanied, toddlers and infants being left in cars, left home alone, left with the pre-teen half-sister in charge of keeping herself and the toddlers alive. A defense of "oh it was a horrible accident, I didn't mean to" wouldn't have worked.

I feel so bad for the sisters - I hadn't realised they witnessed Parker being brought in from the car and the failed resusitation. And for Cindy and Juan, speaking out for the sake of the other girls and for justice for Parker, even if it estranges them further from Erika.
