I am so angry he will not face justice! That narcissistic coward! I just saw the news on Court TV’s FB post on my feed, and I started cursing. My wife was in the room and asked what was wrong. I had just been talking with her about the case so she understood right away. We here all knew this might happen, but I am in disbelief it actually did. It is something out of a movie. Of course, I followed the Dulos case too, and we know how that ended. Pure evil in both cases.

It’s strange, but I had wondered how traumatic that last night with his family would be. I guess we got our answer. To do this to his other girls infuriates me after they already lost their sister. He cared about nobody but himself. I also firmly believe ES knew about this plan ahead of time, approved of it, and may even be complicit in his death with her training. God bless them all as they try to carry on, especially the other daughters.

Rot in hell, CS. At least we know Parker is in a better place.

I have good hopes for the daughters. I expect E to remarry while they're still pretty young. Hopefully, she'll choose better this time, and the girls will have a good stepfather to love and be loved by. If so, they'll graduate high school and probably college with two proud parents in attendance, and they'll have someone to walk them down the aisle if they should choose. I think E is very impressionable, shaped by who she is with, and hopefully he'll be a good influence on her. And even if she raises them as a single mom (with nanny), I feel like she'll be a better mother, without CS dragging her down and absorbing every ounce of her attention and mothering. Poor Parker though. In E's words, she was perfect! And now they've lost her.

This thought crossed my mind too. But that might be giving him too much credit. On the other hand, I don’t doubt that she would support his martyrdom. I’m just so relieved that all of those documents were released, and made publicly available. She can try to gaslight people into believing the story of Saint Christopher, but it’s not gonna fly for long once they get their hands on those.

I could not care less that that odious waste of space is gone but for the anguish that his already traumatized daughters will have to suffer. Whatever else he was, he was their father and I’m sure they loved him.

But man-baby Scholtes just couldn’t face life in a cell without his toys. I did enjoy the thought of his whining and whinging.

It was predicted on this thread that CS taking his own live rather than face prison was a risk in leaving him at large. If random WebSleuths commenters could predict this outcome, why didn't the judge?

His wife is an anesthesiologist by trade. She would have access to all kinds of medications that could be used in a suicide. Of course, it would have been highly inappropriate if she was providing him with ANY dangerous medications, even if written as a prescription.

I would hope LE would do a thorough search of the home and surroundings, garbage cans, vehicles for medications.

With her pattern of denial about his issues and her inactivity in protecting her children, I would find it within the realm of possibility of her enabling him or giving him information about medication-associated suicide methods.

I was coming here to ask exactly this.

Judges are not clinicians. Their purview is law. Unfortunately, I have seen in many professionals, that people who have advanced degrees in one field, often "think" that they are also "qualifed" in other fields.

It is as stupid as a plumber coming over to do electrical work. They may know about electrical work, as it relates to their job, but they know enough to get a professional to do electrical wiring.

Unfortunately, judges, doctors, social workers, so many others, seem to do "cross over" work, thinking they "know" enough. I have seen this often in education. You may have a certification in teaching blind or deaf children, but that is NOT the same as teaching "deaf blind" children.

But, I digress. I didn't think CS was safe at all, to himself or the community when he was let out of the courtroom on the day of the plea deal. Anyone with sense would have known it. Maybe the judge wanted to give him a chance to control his own future. Which, I think was a complete injustice for Parker.

Of course he had this planned to the minute. He wanted to squeeze every last minute out of everyone and everything on this Earth.

Good riddance. Maybe ES can move on and have a healthy life with the remaining two daughters, whether it be with a new, BETTER (goes without saying) partner or on her own. Admittedly, I wish this for the two surviving daughters. I am having trouble wishing anything but the worst for ES. She knew. SHE KNEW. She failed her daughter(s).

Although I did entertain (and enjoy) the thought that ES may have quietly euthanized CS in the night. Too much to hope for. When do you think the multi part documentary on this story will stream?

She works for a major medical center... drugs for anesthesia I would HOPE are under inventory control, if it is found ES diverted any drugs for personal use that is a HUGE violation.

I mean.....I think she's not the sharpest tack (but of course we know she has education and high level profession) but I kind of think she's not that dull?

This is so heartbreaking for the remaining little girls who don't know what is happening and mom could very well be twisting things around... I'm glad the statement didn't just leave it as pity for the coward who couldn't face what he did.

Mom needs to have protected all her girls better.

We now know he took his own life in the evening of 11/4. His court date was 11/5 in the morning.

You can't convince me E didn't know.

Oh, heck, she should have done a better job picking a spouse, and co-parent for her children.
