Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2

This youtube video is not too graphic, it is done by PETA, and shows an NFL player, in a hot car, and how fast the car heats up. I watched this at work today, and thought about a child, trapped in a hot car...

What's the "surprise marriage revelation" in Daily Mail May 9 headline?

"A doctor's husband ... is still with his wife." ibm
That Scholtes went to Hawaii on vacay together?

W. MSM coverage of his behavior & their relationship, no surprise to me.

IMO it’s just an attention grab, cashing in on Chris’ wife standing by him. Such a wonderful marriage that they want to continue on with their lovely life and go on another glam vacation… while he awaits his trial for the murder of his daughter.

If/when the Scholtes' end their marriage, @al66pine 's online dating service has found a potential match for him - the FL. mother in story below.

Working as a team w their combined parenting skills, they might be trusted to mind a pet rock for an hour or two. Well, maybe. /s

But they seem compatible.
imo

ETA: Both situations are sad, sad, sad, w one tragic death.

"A Florida mother was arrested after she allegedly punished her five-year-old son by leaving him alone in a park....
".... witnesses spotted the young boy walking around alone in Flamingo Park for about 20 minutes.
"Others told cops that they also spotted his mother, Rodriguez, driving away from the area in a gray Toyota without her child.

"The child told officers and bystanders that Rodriquez often leaves him to fend for himself in the park when he misbehaves...
"Those who found the abandoned child also noted that when they saw Rodriguez, she appeared 'incoherent and possibly under the influence,'..."

I really miss the laughing emoji, thumbs up isn’t enough, lol!

@MsMarple
Thank you very much. (Blushes)

Honestly, of the two types of behaviors (AZ father leaving tot in car vs. FL mother leaving 5 yo alone in public park, w both little ones endangered multiple times, seemingly intentionally), IDK which is worse.

Obvs, AZ case was worse outcome, death, but the result could easily have been the same in FL, a perv picking the boy up & killing him, or boy dashing into street & being fatally injured by traffic-law-abiding vehicle driver.

(Some ppl should just not have kids.
On that point am I obligated to say imo or moo?)

Yeah, especially because she's 20 years old!

On a more serious note, she would have had him when she was 14 or 15, just a child herself.

I’d argue the likelihood of being cooked alive when locked inside a car in Arizona for 2+ hours at >100F may very well be 100%. The proteins in any mammal would be well underway in denaturation at that point. The proteins loose their shape and cease to perform their functions that are necessary to sustain life.

His act is less intentional but very deadly.

Also, while 5 yo is young, she would likely have known how to unbuckle and open the door. Even if it was locked. Parker was just 2, she was so helpless.

He’s more than unfit.

I assume that their relationship may not be as sugary as it seems. They have been together for many years. Lots of knowledge to accumulate about your partner. I think that there might be a deeper reason why she is not leaving him. Logically, staying with CS is against ES’s best interests.

To me, the change in him from crying "my baby" to belligerent "I'm going to take a shower, so..." (around 11 minutes into video) is crazy. Is that shock? Or just showing his character? (IMOO etc)

every time I watch this I get heated all over again. His demeanor is just so off from what I might expect.

ETA "so I am being treated like a murderer?" - high pitched whiny voice. "little baby little baby" in his whiny baby voice while trying hard to unsuccessfully squeeze out a tear.

and within seconds "I'm gonna use the shower. Go!" as he tries to get LE to leave the bathroom.

LE "We can't let you do that we have to standby with you."
CS: "you can stay in the room if you want but I'm gonna rinse off real quick" as he attempts to open the shower door. [like what sir??]

Like why is CS so focused on showering right now? He is downright argumentative about it.

The girls are usually real good about reminding me to get her out of the car.

If the girls were home I don't think this would have happened.

This @zzhat grrr

Me, too.

I wonder if he was trying to wash out the smell of pot or alcohol, or to try to sober up. I'm outraged that he was apparently not drug or alcohol tested at this time.

My sense of outrage over his lack of concern and his wife's co-dependence makes me angry for days.

his arrest footage still can't work up a genuine tear, not even for himself, but boy he sure tries hard to, makes crying noises. sheds not one tear.

Yep. All I see is concern for himself, mind whirring in an attempt to get out of the horrific predicament he caused. Sooo much bloviating; how much of that was for Parker? You nailed it with “whiny baby voice.”

I hope that video stays online forever to remind Chris - and his wife too - of their rancid behavior.

I remember reading about another hot car death incident (a broken routine/forgotten baby genuine accident) where the father was so distraught on arrival to hospital that the medical staff offered him sedation. He replied, "No, I want to feel all of it, and then I want to die."

Large contrast there with CS's demeanor here.

that bit about how the girls are really good about reminding him not to leave his youngest child in the hot car and how it never would have happened if they'd been at home just really burns my chaps.
As if his young daughters should not only be responsible for protecting themselves from his man child irresponsible idiocy but were also tasked with reminding daddy not to kill their little sister.

just makes my blood boil this man. I will be so very upset if he gets off for this. These poor girls need protecting from their father. I hope it finally does happen because their mother is not at all concerned with that it appears to me. pffft Hawaiian family vacation.

So freaking infuriating! Not only are the other girls not responsible, I’m worried that they’ve heard him say that and may feel that way.

I wish this would go to trial soon. This jerk needs a reality check and jail time.

But it wasn't really his fault, doncha know. It was the fault of his other two little daughters, who should have been home to remind him of his responsibilities. Stomach-churning.

ETA apologies - I just saw that this point has been made several times already!
