Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2

I was thinking of that case too. So it's for the best.

What were the defense attorneys on CourtTv saying? They think this particular case is not a crime, why?

Maybe they are trying to protect assets from attorneys' fees? Or in preparation to declare bankruptcy "but you get to keep your house." And keep the rental, too, because it's owned by the LLC!

My speculation/opinions only.
Re BBM -

The CourtTv attorneys I saw all thought he should’ve taken a plea. They think he’s going down hard and fast in a trial.

The last program I saw, posted a page or so back, the attorney said since he is going to trial he feels Christopher needs to speak in his own defense because the facts of the case are so bad. I guess seeing him as a grieving father will help. I see a man who cared so little for his babies that he continued to put them at risk regardless of who or how many times he was asked to stop. This selfish man caused all this pain and if he could spend two lifetimes in prison he’d still end up owing.

I think she is protecting assets and her kids.

You may be right, but had she protected her kids years ago, none of this would’ve happened.

She knew and did absolutely zero to end it and the inevitable happened.

I think she is protecting assets and her kids. Whether it’s her idea, their attorney or a therapists IDK. I know ppl were & are talking about this here in Tucson, I’m not sure if he is as infamous in Phoenix. Their neighbors in Marana spoke with reporters saying they wouldn’t let Christopher supervise their kids due to things they’d observed and others called the police after Parker’s death, to share things they’d seen or knew about him. This was in early reports posted here.

It’s hard enough on those kids to lose their baby sister after already losing their older sister. Now they are going to lose their primary parent. We know he’s incompetent but they only know he’s “dad”.

Umm, so you think having CS around as a "Dad", is a good thing?

Kids are adaptable. We already see proof of his poor parenting skills. And we don't even know what goes on in the house. He seems completely checked out to me. And that is the least of it.

Maybe CS is declaring that he is "indigent" so the court will pay attorney fees?

If CS testifies, it won't go good for him. That leaves the door wide open for the prosecution to bring in everything, and ask him about his theft of beer that day, how long he left Parker in the car that day, every minute, every stop, and we don't know what other video they may have...and the text messages. They could keep him talking for two or three days.

It only takes 5 minutes for him to say he is "sorry" and what a "great dad" he is...

I 100% agree and honestly think she should be facing charges too. Christopher was not going to stop himself, as a parent it was her job to protect her kids and she failed. I don’t think parenting classes would be much help but something needs to be done to keep these kids safe.

Noooo! But I have empathy for the kids and how they see this as another loss. A huge loss in their eyes. They don’t understand why this is happening. I hope they have a great therapist to help them through this, bc Erika from what we have seen is not going to help them. One of their former neighbors had never seen her! So one parent was physically checked out and the other was mentally and emotionally checked out. Who was taking care of the kids?

I think Christopher is going to get exactly what he deserves by testifying. Ppl are going to look at him in absolute contempt and horror that he thinks this was just a mistake! Personally I don’t care if he’s sorry or not. He didn’t care enough about Parker to check on her even one time all afternoon! He looked at clothing ads, he looked up vacation spots, he looked for p o r n and he played video games. He made food for his other girls, he put away groceries, he drank! How can you be so self absorbed that in over 3 hours he never gave Parker a single thought? One time, just one “hey girls what’s Parker doing?” might have saved her life. Not that it was up to them to know, again this was all Christopher, he didn’t give her a thought! How he spent all afternoon doing Christopher things, with 2 kids in the house, never giving Parker a single thought, I cannot wrap my head around.

He can say anything he wants to about being a great dad, a pillar in the community! Actions speak louder than words and his actions scream selfish, jerk! Who thinks DUI at 138mph is just fine bc the baby was asleep. He thinks drinking beer in store restrooms & walking out without paying is fine - after all it’s not cocaine & beer’s legal! He thinks LEO’s should just put up with him showering, bc he’s hot & sweaty while his baby was just declared dead at his hands. This man-child is in for a huge awaking when he gets to prison where they will tell him when he can shower, when he can eat, sleep, what he can wear.

CS likely wanted to shower and drink water to sober up. Have we heard if he was legally drunk? Was he even tested? Would it even be admissible in court? Anyone know?

And that is information I have not found, and I have been digging for it.

But, if he tests as being over legal limit, and the child died, due to negligence because he was impaired, this may be the issue why the case was taken to the Grand Jury, and why the finding came back with a charge of Murder 1.

And why the prosecution is not offering anything that CS will accept. The prosecution is ready to go to court on this. I think we may hear about this during trial.

A few days ago, someone posted that the family home was now a rental with a LLC managing it (I believe owned by Erika). And they biught a million dollar home in Phoenix. A couple hrs away from Marana.

Assume there’s legal reasons this was done? I just found it interesting because you’d think they’d need to save their $ for a defense fund.
Another reason maybe is fleeing the area. I’m sure the majority of the Tucson neighbors despise them and know all of the dirty laundry from the past as this didn’t evolve overnight. Some of the articles we’ve read here have statements from neighbors who I’m assuming may be called as witnesses. We probably don’t know the half of it.

They moved not only a couple of hours but a new life away as well, at least in their own mind. Their so-called “fresh start.” Perhaps believing (or hoping, ha!) the new neighbors don’t know all the tragic, stomach-churning details.

I have a queasy feeling on this. Now if I were on the jury, and deciding to put this guy away for the rest of his life.... i'd notice that he was treated so leniently by LE, ie immediately released to family members, probably future court witnesses. And the Hawaii farce. No judge, of course in all that time I was NEVER alone with my 2 living children. How can the prosecution explain treating him with kid gloves, exposing him to guaranteed future witnesses, and the Hawaii debacle. But now let's get serious and charge him with murder 1. I hope I'm wrong.

The jury listens to evidence. The trip to Hawaii, is not evidence related to the crime. The prosecution could not separate the defendant from his family, he is still "innocent" until proven guilty. And personally, I don't think that the younger children will be called as witnesses by either team.

I thought it was unusual to release him to just go back home, did he post bail? There was a body, a crime, imo, it's far more usual to stay in jail for murder 1 before a trial. Anyway, hope you're right.

Oh gawd I can already hear the fake wailing all the way from Pittsburgh.

I hope the karma that slaps him in the face is as delicious to witness as Sarah Boone’s was, another absolutely delusional “victim”.

He’s up there in my Top 3 of most despicable defendants who get breaks they absolutely don’t deserve, right beside Barry Morphew.

Does anyone know if this trial will be televised?

According to KVOA ch 4 news he was released without bond. The State asked for $1M.

That is a good question. I know the court streams hearings... I think it might be.

While looking for info on courtroom livestreams… Did we know about a change of venue hearing scheduled for Friday 10/24?

Not surprised. I am waiting for full stop stall tactics.
1. Change venue
2. Change attorneys
3. CS has a "medical emergency"
4. Probably things I can't imagine.

At this point, I think he should have his bond revoked at wait in jail for his trial. Won't happen.

I remember reading about this, but it bears repeating that the 2 girls were coached by family to make light of his behavior.

"Although the girls were told to “tell the truth” by family members, they also briefed the young girls on what to say when they met with interviewers, the children said. Interview notes state relatives directed one sister to say her dad was a good dad and that it was an accident.

“This was not on purpose, how he made her die. He did it on accident, it was a mistake on accident,” one daughter told interviewers.
The other daughter living at the home told the interviewer her dad didn’t mean to kill Parker. She said, “he can just get distracted, and it’s been really hard to multi-task.”

This…not surprised but still 😡 😡 😡 😡 He is still trying to put as much time at home before trial and prison as he can. So the week before trial we have change of venue. Last month his attorney said he wanted Christopher seen by a psychiatrist because he has memory issues, he’s had 15 months to do so but just mentioned it in the 11th hour. The Holidays are almost here, the courts slow almost to a standstill between Thanksgiving & New Years. If they give him this change of venue we’re probably looking at April or May, maybe longer, depending on where he goes. If he was sitting in jail while waiting for trial he’d be chomping at the bit to get it started.

The trial start date of Monday October 27 must be so much pressure on CS and ES, and rightfully so.

I agree that we are going to see all sorts of excuses, fakes, lies and anything to get the pressure off of him, knowing full well that any delay may result in a new trial date well into 2026

Meanwhile, he would be out, apparently with few stipulations or binding conditions. Heck, maybe even another Hawaiian vacation.

I truly hope the Change of Venue is dismissed on Friday.

when was the defense's motion for change of venue filed? Personally I feel like it is a bit late to be requesting that, unless the motion was filed months ago and is only now being heard after the settlement plea conference went south.
