Arizona girl, 2, left in car by father on 109-degree day and is found dead #2

If Scholtes declines the latest plea deal, his trial is set to begin next Monday.
Second plea hearing set for Marana father accused in daughter’s hot car death

and I know this has been discussed previously but I find the horrible copy and paste job of the fatality summary prepared by the AZ dept of public safety to be offensive. Highly inaccurate, refers to Parker throughout as a male, and sometimes refers to Lance Savard as the father instead of CS. Lance Savard is a defendant in another horrible child death case that occurred in AZ involving a drowned toddler. Clearly the person tasked with preparing the report was lazy and simply copy pasted a bunch of stuff about this case into a report originally prepared about another case.

from the report on Parker Scholtes:

"The allegations of neglectto Parker by his father, Lance Savard, were substantiated. The family was provided withinformation on services available in the community and the case was closed.A subsequent report was received on June 27, 2025, with allegations of neglect and physicalabuse to a sibling by their father and stepmother. The report also includes an allegation ofsexual abuse to the sibling by the father, Lance Savard, that was alleged to have occurredin 2020."

Horrible, sloppy reporting!
So were the sexual abuse allegations made against CS or Mr Sevard? I truly don't know, because of all the mistakes in the report.

hard to say but I also linked the report regarding Savard, and that report contains zero references to any SA allegations so I "think" that is specific to CS and Parker's death summary. But honestly with how sloppy the summary is it could very well be a copy paste from still another case. To the preparer of said summaries: tell me you have zero work ethic without telling me

If it's talking about the Scholtes family, then I think it would mean that one child reported sexual abuse to her sister by CS. Is that the way that sounds to you? Because it says sibling, not child.

The Pima County Attorney's Office released a statement regarding the Scholtes case processing saying:

Today, Christopher Scholtes accepted a plea agreement and pled guilty to one Count of Second-Degree Murder and one Count of Intentional/Knowing Child Abuse under Circumstance Likely to Cause Death or Serious Physical Injury. Under the terms of the plea, the sentences imposed by the judge are going to run consecutively and Scholtes will face a sentencing range of 20 to 30 years of flat time (meaning he’s not eligible for early release, he must serve the full sentence imposed by the court) in the Department of Corrections for murdering P.S. on July 9, 2024. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our prosecutors, victim advocates, staff for their collaboration with local law enforcement on this complicated and high-profile case. This is yet another reminder to the community that the Pima County Attorney’s Office will do everything we can to get justice for victims and prosecute those who have caused harm to others especially those who are most vulnerable.”

Hoping for the max. Tired of this dude getting handled with kid gloves.

This is a puzzler.

Certainly the sentence beginning "The report also includes an allegation" might equally attribute the abuse or the reporting of it to LS.

The syntax is certainly garbled but the position of the phrase by his father indicates (to me) that it is the report rather than the abuse attributed to LS.

So my guess is that LS is the reporter here, and the allegations of neglect (substantiated) and of neglect, physical abuse and SA were made by him and the claims themselves refer to CS.

The summary report is clearer (to me):

Thanks for the research you do. Well that's at least 20. And, imo, it's harder to appeal plea deals. That's what Watts found out, there were ppl ready to pay for an appeal for him but LE did a very thorough job in executing the plea deal. And there were few avenues to "appeal" the various types of sentences.

That was crazy stupid work. All I could think of was that perhaps his older daughter had some mean stepfather but nothing worked on the cut paste context. That was so stupid someone really should lose their government job in this case.

I am relieved that Parker's sisters won't have to testify in a trial. I am also angry that CS fought for this long to deny his responsibility for this senseless death and accountability for his actions.

I hope he had a fulfilling Hawaiian honeymoon, his wife is gorgeous, there will be guys around who will legitimately contribute to the family's coffers through marriage, should she divorce this creep.

I sincerely hope that Mom and girls get to experience a loving family life with 2 mature adults pulling the wagon so to speak.

Does this mean he’s finally in jail? Or is he still out until sentencing? Tyia

I don’t.

I’m sickened that his wife stuck by him, putting him above his dead and living daughters.

Well that was sarcasm, unless there are conjugal visits in Arizona prisons. Maybe enforced separation from this loser will work to dissolve her weird devotion towards him.

And no, AZ does not have conjugal visits, just looked it up.

I am thoroughly shocked he accepted the plea deal. I thought he would've thought with such a long guaranteed time in prison on the table, that it would be worth going for the chance at an acquittal or even lesser charge, however small that chance might have been. It makes me think maybe he does actually feel some appropriate remorse. I wonder if his attorney advised him to accept. I also wonder if a different (better) attorney would tell him to reject it.

Hopefully, she will dump him. He's a lazy loser, a killer, and she had to buy everything for him. Except beer. He stole that.

Well I can't see that the family's standard of living will do anything but go up, without her having to support his habits.

I haven’t found anything that says he was handed over to the Dept of Corrections but I’m still looking. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he’s going to remain free until his sentencing hearing. I’m also looking for that date.
