Was her mother an alcoholic or an abuser or something? Just want to be certain it was not "in self defense", as it were.

you should watch JA's testimony re. her family and abuse suffered at the hands of her parents.

IMO it's far more likely she abused her family...

i'll never ever argue for the veracity for anything JA claims.

Juan said she hit her and kicked for "no reason." There was nothing at all indicating this was in response to abuse. That would be a speculation on the part of the person asking.

IMO her mother had her number ... Jodi couldn't fool her.

my feeling is what u say is true. I think they (Arias') don't want to be responsible for JA getting the DP and have had the good sense to not blab to the media.

More breaking news: Another excerpt from Jodi's interrogation released on HLN today where the only example of an "anger issue" that she could recall was kicking her dog who was tied up in the yard. Somehow the dog ran away and she never saw him again. Referring to the dog, she says, "I need to apologize to him". She was a freshman in HS at the time.

psychopath.

Wouldn't be surprised if she killed that dog.

Good evening! This psych eval is my favorite portion of any of these crimes. I've been trying to get caught up here with your ideas but I simply don't have the time to read through the volume of posts here tonight.

Any chance one of you fine folks would like to give me a condensed version of what you feel Jodi's psychological diagnosis would be? What have you all come up with for ideas?

Thank you in advance!

Interesting, isn't it that she refers to him in the present tense as if she could still apologize. She doesn't say, "I wish I could find him." "Then I could apologize." This tells me she probably already knows where the dog is, sadly enough.

Now, given that Jodi is currently, (IIRC) 32 years old, and you are generally about 15 as a freshman in HS, IF this dog was a puppy then, it would be currently a 17 year old dog.

That's a stretch.

It has been my experience while following these types of crimes that often times when the police are talking to the killer and the killer KNOWS where the body is, they refer to the victim this same way.

They also tend to downplay the violent act.

ALL of this is of course...MHOO.

Also, this may indeed be her weird way of confessing to this 'crime' of the dog. She brings this up as an anger issue in association with a dead boyfriend which she has admitted to murdering. Interesting.

I would like to see her answer as to WHY? she kicked the dog.

Well, even if we were pros, which the vast majority of us are not, you'd be hard pressed to get a consensus in a psych dx.

I think there's a lot of agreement for some sort of Cluster B PD - or several, comorbid.

There's a lot of support for psychopathy (IMO: esp. after today!)

She kicked the dog cause it knocked over a garbage can full of diapers - which the dog proceeded to drag all over the yard. She had to clean up the mess.

So... Jodi's been kicked out of Arizona and is packing up to head back to California. Mom shows up to help. Jodi has no one else to take her feelings out on so lashes out at her mother who, unfortunately, can't ever stop being Jodi's mom and so is always available for abuse.

I think NPDs use their families like this all the time -- convenient punching bags for when things don't go their way.

I agree.

This is how it was with my NPD sister and our Mom. NPD's have temper tantrums often,

Psychopath IMO nothing else accurately describes her.

This happened to us, except one of my young children let the people in and then yelled for me "mom, someone is here and wants to talk to you"...

As I turned the corner into our entry foyer I was SHOCKED to see two strangers standing with my young child IN MY HOME! The scariest thing is my children know not to let anyone in the house!

After this I was so startled, that I started doing research and found the following website that will send chills up your spine when ou read about the crimes that have been committed when people unknowingly let these "salespeople" into their homes:

http://www.travelingsalescrews.info/An Industry Rife With Fraud 082111.htm

There should actually be a section on the websleuths website dedicated to this subject. Crimes involving dangerous door to door "salesmen" are actually more prevalent than you'd imagine...

Good story and yes always trust your intuition.

2 attractive, well groomed young women came to our home one evening a little over a year ago and they said they were from 'Team Extreme' and were collecting $$ for buying children's books for the local Children's hospital!
These girls said they were our new neighbors & that they had just moved into a house that was just finished being built down our street. They said they were in college. One girl did all the talking and seemed smooth and creepy.
My husband asked them in. I had an immediate bad feeling about these girls. You don't move into a new house and then
go asking your neighbors for donations. The smooth talking one was pushy - she advanced from the foyer into the living room and said
"oh i want to see your view". It was very dark out so the view was not available. I had the feeling she was casing the joint.
The talky girl said the minimum donation was $52 and make the check out to
"Team Extreme". So my husband got his checkbook and wrote the check. Then the talky girl asked for a 2nd check for the same amount!
So my husband gave them a second check. After they left I felt relieved. 2 days later I got an email from
our community council president saying that Team Extreme was a scam and if you had been visited by
young persons collecting $$ to let her know. I called
the Children's hospital and learned that no they do not solicit funds door to door and that we had indeed been scammed. My husband called the bank and put stop payments on the checks. I emailed or called
all our neighbors and learned that 3 of our closest neighbors
also got scammed.
I thought back to the smooth talking chatty girl and felt disgust that such a young and attractive person was
going around lying & scamming people. My husband and I talked about this and he said he would never have invited them in
if they had not said they were our new neighbors! I said let's make a rule that we never let strangers in and we never give money at the door.

I must post when everyone is asleep! That's what happens when you live underneath!
I'm not sure if this post belongs here or anywhere for that matter, so apologies in advance if it is not appropriate:)
I also have no agenda to denigrate victims.
I was reading over on the LDS thread (looking for more context haha), I realise that this is an offshoot of the Mormon church, rather like the Taliban and Muslims, and that they hold extreme beliefs/values, but these beliefs are based on the 'normative' values of the originating religion.
From my point of view these values are medieval, patriarchal, oppressive, and abusive to women.
It made me wonder why JA would choose to become a Mormon, which is rather like Aileen Wournos being a prostitute, when both choices served to further entrench their self beliefs and could only ever result in vicious anger?
She seems so far away from her 'self'. Very split off.
