''A 32-year-old man is facing charges after he was allegedly spotted pouring an unknown agent into a woman's drink in a downtown Toronto bar last week.

Toronto police say that on Sept. 6, a 24-year-old woman met a man through an online dating app.

The pair agreed to meet at a bar in the area of John and Adelaide streets.

Investigators say that when the woman got up to use the washroom, a suspect put an unknown substance in her drink.

When she returned, police say other patrons in the bar advised the woman not to consume the drink.

Police were contacted the next day.''

''He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Oct. 15.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 416-808-5200.''

Wonder how many other women he’s done that to?

Thank goodness the patrons were not only paying attention, but they warned the woman- she is only 24.
The alleged 32 year old perp should be so lucky- he actually managed to get a date with the young woman, it could have been a nice evening, but no- he just had to (allegedly) play dirty. imo, speculation.

he's probably been doing it for years
I hope he does prison time and has to register as a sex offender after the court case

I hope they actually charge him with something. But not sure if anyone kept the drink to test it. If not, the judge cannot really do much.

HOPEFULLY some other women will come forward to tell their stories, if they woke up passed out at his place, after only having one drink.

An unrelated case of a spiked drink in Montreal, but this case is referenced in the article.

PROTECT YOUR DRINK: Montreal woman shares black-out experience in TikTok trend | Toronto Sun
''Stephanie Tavares remembers — partly — a night out with her then-girlfriend at a Montreal bar in the summer of 2019.

''She recalls dancing with her love and them hanging out with two male friends, who later in the evening departed.''

It was almost last call when two men approached the couple and offered to buy them drinks.

Tavares ingested the drink. Luckily, her girlfriend did not.''

“From that moment on, I have only an eclipse (of memory). The guys were following us for 15 minutes until a police officer came because I had fallen on the ground. There were a lot of people on the street, so I guess the guys got freaked out over that.'

''This past week, Toronto Police allege a man slipped something noxious into a women’s drink at an Entertainment District club.''

I don't think he was planning to kill her. He had to know that meeting someone on a dating app and going to meet up at a bar, would point right to him if she went missing. He'd have no way to wipe her phone logs , even if he wiped her phone.

I think, these guys that do this, after meeting on tinder, get away with it most of the time. They make the woman instantly 'drunk' and assist her home or to his place. And they rape her, and wait for her to wake up, then they act 'normal' ---like it was a one night stand.

It is awkward and the woman is still loopy and out of it, but just wants to get home. By the time she realises she was purposely drugged, it is too late to do much about it.

It is a date rape at the most, which is her word against his. Very hard to charge anyone with that.

If other women do come forth, that will make him a predator, hopefully he will go to jail - where he belongs.
