So glad to see forward movement in this case!
If this guy was trying to purchase a new vehicle and indicated his truck was stolen, then either LE had his truck or perhaps he has ditched it. Since it was said the car dealership happened about 4 weeks ago, then fwiw he probably ditched it. Would love to know where they picked him up and what he was driving.

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if he reported it stolen. That happenns so often. Not a smart move but people do it.

I am not so sure about the keeping the family informed part...it sounded like Charlie was as shocked as everyone else, when some others heard her on TV today...but I do think LE was on top of the case for weeks now.

After watching the video, I agree with your assessment. It sounds like Mickey's dad was told an arrest was imminent & that's pretty much it. Otherwise, why would they take people's time and money to conduct searches that were going to turn up fruitless? That's not a criticism - I believe the family wanted to hold on to whatever hope they had to bring Mickey home safe, but the reality to LE was that scenario would not happen.

Alright..wow to the details of the previous assault charges. I wonder what that poor girl is going through if she's heard about this. I remember reading on TD that BSL has an ex-wife and daughter or something, but I might have it wrong, can anyone confirm or deny?

i believe he is on linkedin. i won't post it but it says that he was the lead service mechanic at Wood Group.

It is definitely him. I have over 1000 contacts and someone I know knows him.

It sounds like LPD was somewhat keeping the family informed and that they really did know what they were doing.

I'm really relieved. Because I was starting to have serious doubts. And I LOVE Lafayette. It will always be my "home" because I was born and raised there. I was 30 before I left.

I HEARD a while back that the truck was burned. Everyone thought that was a silly rumor. But those that know him are saying again tonight that indeed he burned the truck.

Can we say these things? There are more "details" but I don't want to get in trouble.

Speaking of forgiveness - I hope I'll be forgiven for:
1)Punching the gas pedal everytime I saw a patrol car hoping I'd get pulled over for speeding and create an opportunity to talk with the officer about the case - with little regard to the safety of other vehicles around me.
2) Filling out an online survey on LPD's website giving a biased opinion based on the handling of this case (so I thought and now know I was wrong), and using the comments section to tell them my thoughts.
I owe them a huge apology and I truly am sorry.
3) Circling around a white Chevy 4 door silver ado when I got home from work this afternoon and found him innocently cleaning the cement with a pressure washer, taking pictures of him, his truck and glaring at him through my apartment window until he finished his work and left.
4) Taking the family's comments about ACI and WS radio show personally and not being more understanding or accepting of their reasons for it.

This has been an emotional situation unlike anything I've ever encountered, but I am grateful for this forum and it's service to victims, families and concerned citizens.

that's not the same house that they are searching right now. we think that both are mobile homes, so this particular house on trulia and zillow must have been moved off of the property

His was a 2000 white chevy ,the news report at 11 (posted earlier ) Stated it was not a z71.
