Nope, I think you are on the wrong track. That is not how it went down and I think we should be complimenting them right now, not being so critical.

First of all, they have been on to this guy, the perp, for weeks already. They had it under control, with the info they already had. But they did not want to bring him in for interrogation until they had their ducks in a row. But they had lots of important info already, but after their recent interview, they narrowed down his route out of town, so they went and looked for the video evidence to see if it matched what he told them, imo. JMO

Yes, you are correct. This is exactly the way that it occurred.

I've been lurking around all day, I just can't stop thinking about poor Mickey. I was never very active on this thread, but Mickey's was always one of the first I checked on, even before I was a member (throughout the weeks I lurked without registering). I was really hoping for a better outcome, even after news of the arrest I maintained hope that she was still alive but held captive. I'm so sad that this is how it all turned out, I haven't been able to stop thinking about her all day. I'm eagerly awaiting the news we'll receive tomorrow, but I honestly don't think it's going to make me feel much better at all. I hope her death was quick and she didn't suffer much... such a beautiful soul who touched so many, she didn't deserve to have her life cut short by this monster.

I'm so glad I found this forum, all these missing people are lucky to have such brilliant caring people searching for answers when they themselves aren't able. A heartfelt well done to all who sleuthed Mickey's case... if only there was a better outcome. Hugs to all.

What I read in one of the news articles made it clear that the charges are with regards to Mickey...I know a lot of people do not want to believe it, but that clearly is the case.

The only good outcome now, in my opinion, would be a full confession with Mickey being returned to her family for proper services, etc...and the avoidance of a trial. Second best would be a conviction, if he is guilty and will not confess, with a life sentence, no chance of parole. Either way, if she has not yet been found, I hope she is very soon. I am not sure her family will accept that she is gone otherwise, and that will be even more devastating to try to cling to hope when LE seems certain there is none left.

So I found his ex-girlfriend on FB and just have to say....she looks very similar to Mickey but with black hair! Kinda scary!

In my earlier post I surmised that they have been on to him for quite some time. But I just do not understand why every available byte of video footage was not looked at earlier. Not to be critical but something does not add up. The press conference today should clear things up.

How do you know it was not looked at earlier, weeks ago when they learned of the POI. And then, looked at again and confirmed once they were ready to make the arrest.

i think the footage is from The Advertiser's surveillance cameras, not that someone gave it to The Advertiser. Their building must be on Bertrand

Crazy how close his work location at Wood Group is to the area Mickey was last seen. Wonder if he was coming from there when he spotted her...

it's a global deal, but the locations in LA are New Iberia, Thibodaux, Houma, New Orleans, Belle Chasse (Gretna) which is the one I think he was employed with

I know there are a zillion white trucks out there....but.... There is what appears to be a recent image on Google Earth of the Wood Group on Ambassador Caffrey. There is a white truck with a black bed liner in the lot. Only one that I see.
