Yes, I believe I mentioned that earlier. It'll be back in the HoC in the fall.

If it is passed, which I doubt, we are all okay because we all know about the onion router, so we can disguise our sleuthing.

No.......... not even close

Sorry, but absolutely is ...

I have no factual information on this, but I would think an airline would be obligated to inform all passengers that an escorted prisoner was on board. I could just see someone who didn't know and found out afterwards suing the airline, claiming they're having nightmares afterwards.

Can you just imagine the conversation that would transpire about LM being on the plane?

Airline Representative: "Thank you for choosing 'XYZ Airlines. You are allowed one carry on bag. You will be traveling today with an international bottom-feeding 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star that first gained notoriety while torturing kittens. He will be escorted today by highly qualified law enforcement as he is brought to justice for a crime too horrible to mention. If you are cool with that, is there anything else I can assist you with?"

Passenger: ":what:"

Perhaps the Canadians YOU know are not, Otto, but please don't make a blanket statement like that. The Canadians I know are most certainly concerned about their privacy being invaded by not so well meaning politicians and government agencies. It's good practice NOT to generalize.
I get the need for police to act swiftly when they see a crime in action, but to pretend it takes more than 5 minutes to get a warrant and circumvent the judiciary altogether is incredibly disturbing to me, especially because it won't be just police who will have the new powers. The whole bill is just incredibly dangerous to our democracy.

Now, where the heck is the HEAD and the DOG? LOL

Wasn't the statement that he was the "head' of CSIS"? (which I took as the administrative head aka the Director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service - I don't know the guy's name off-hand.)

Politically, CSIS is in Toews ministerial portfolio, yes.

That's fine when it's fully explained, but IMO that's not how it came across.

I just wanted to provide the correct information, so peeps aren't led to believe that CSIS is some all-powerful, willy-nilly organization floating around in the clouds, doing anything they want, with no accountabilty to anyone.

All's cool :)

I tend to under-explain when I'm multi-tasking. It's a curse LOL

They are a willy-nilly organization floating around in the clouds doing anything they want with no accountability to anyone but they are not all-powerful.

Hi again and sorry to post right into your discussion about something else :)
I have seen that some people have thanked me so I started with the mistake hunt. I tried really hard to distinguish spelling mistake from possible typing mistakes, and I think the list should be fine. I used this as a starting point:
http://estrip.org/author/list_articles/lukamagnotta
and I was looking through 1. to 7. (7 included). I will continue tomorrow, because my eyes are hurting now.
Here you go:

parants
accross
elivator
probley
explaine
asthough
chocking (for choking)
heals (for heels)
becomming
nite
odacity
aswell
inorder
damm
anoying
intorduced (not always, but often)
aslong
excepted, exceptable (for accepted, acceptable)
existance
truely
ofcoarse
experiance
claime
influances
infront
devistated
oppertunity
hottiest
niceiest
sware
Sacrafice

Also, I came across a sentence he wrote, which made me feel sad:
"I just want to know where my life is going.....I don't know and its scaring me."

What do you mean?? "Hottiest" isn't a real word? :what:
Excellent list! You can also add "noone" (for no one) to that list.

In some closing thoughts….wanna reveal something personal to you

Here's a few comments I made today:

"it's all about MEEEEEE" mentality, in the FB me, me, me, world, I can GUARANTEE there are little Lukas everywhere"

"I am afraid that there are so many kids like this now. There always were but more nowadays."

"Arrogance nor ego has a place in truly effective investigative work, IMO."

Now, I would LOVE to tell you that those comments stem from my so well adjusted and healthy mindset. That because I am so above all that, and so evolved that I would NEVER be such a person as I describe.

BUT, the urge to do those things I describe is ever present. I wish it to be about meeeee. I wish to be right all the time. I want to be the best. (Arrogance) I want to regard only myself and my own opinions. (ego)

The reason those of us who are willing to admit this, is because we know we have to RESIST the urges and through life and maturity learn how to control those natural urges.

In today's society and with INSTANT gratification at every turn it becomes more difficult to control such urges. I will admit I have difficulty in this age.

Mr. Magnotta is the poster child of what happens when you let those urges go.

So, this case convicts me in a strange and deep way. Can't speak for others. But, it is a mirror. I think I can understand the comment Mr. Magnotta made about the mirror. It may not be the way he meant it, but looking at him it's difficult not to see some of my own weaknesses. Indulgence, instant gratification, arrogance and many other unpleasant and painful things.

Please do not mistake that for any sort of admiration for Mr. Magnotta. I have none.

I worry for the next generation who was not taught to restrain oneself from such urges as were aforementioned. In fact we are now taught to embrace them. Do what feels right. Do it for you. You are special, you are different, You deserve special treatment, etc.

It's hard enough without all that.

Anywho.....

Nice talking to you all today. Hope you have a pleasant evening.

ITA

this case has the power to humble us

What's your point Chorley?

I fail to see how a picture of Magnotta with a bottle of Labatt's Blue could cause the brewery any harm. It's Canada's most popular beer. I'm sure Labatt's making a fuss about it was a carefully planned PR move to get even more exposure.
I'm not sure what their thinking was, but the publicity did inspire a handful of decent #newlabattcampaign tweets.

"It takes a certain kind of person to drink Labatt Blue. And if you see that person, RUN"

bizarre list of spelling mistakes at least some of them. Atypical? Any ESL or grade school teachers here? What do they think?

For what it is worth, I was on a flight once that had a "high risk prisoner" on the plane, but he was "escorted by Federal Marshals", or so the flight attendant told us. He did arrive in handcuffs and was escorted by two Federal Marshals onto the plane before anyone else got on. I believe they sat in the very back of the plane. I was on this flight because I had missed the regular flight, and when the attendant was rescheduling me, she asked if I had any problem with being on a flight with a "prisoner that was being escorted, blah, blah, blah". I always wondered what the regular passengers were told about that flight. In short, the prisoner on the flight I was on, was escorted on the plane before anyone else, and was escorted off the plane after everyone else had departed. For what it is worth, I did not recognize him from anything here on WS's. I would think that in the case of LM, he is SO recognizable, it might be a problem for the airline to have him on a regular flight. I would expect that he will be on a plane with very few people, at a very late hour. :twocents:

lol wonder if its the same situation i mentioned. lol
you gave almost the same details i did. lol

i can tell you in the situation i know of personally, passengers were not told.
it was very covert the way it was handled....now this was a convicted military member who [had] held high clearance and all of that so maybe things are handled differently than a civilian....but passengers were not told....it was very secretative....

i know a buttload of canadians and i can promise you they are very concerned too....there are plenty of conspiracy boards out there filled with canadians discussing the very issue....

I have no idea if this has changed or not, but this was reported awhile ago

Mr. Böttner noted that either the German or the Canadian government will likely have to pick up the bill for a transatlantic charter flight, or a military jet, to deliver him to Canada once the deportation is complete.

“I find it unlikely that they would choose to transport him to Canada on a regular commercial flight,” Mr. Böttner said. “I can imagine that they would arrange special transportation for him in a small plane with security detail, or a military plane. But a commercial flight might cause panic.”

Just another anecdote about prisoner transfer. I, too, was on a commercial flight with a handcuffed prisoner escorted by LE of some sort. In my case it was a female and, to my knowledge, the passengers were not informed. If they were, I wasn't paying attention. I can't remember how I noticed her, but she did attract my attention for some reason and I was able to figure out that she was handcuffed and her relationship to her escorts. She also was seated in the last row of the plane in the center of three seats flanked by the escort.

I do wonder if the method of transportation would depend on the crime alleged or public notoriety. I have to think the last thing LE or the airline would want on a commercial international flight would be someone who might pose a threat to the passengers and crew or whose mere presence could stir up some serious problems. My guess would be that they wouldn't take a chance like that in this case, fwiw. jmo

I have a weird question: Has someone already kind of analysed LMs posts? I would like to make a little list containing LMs most common spelling mistakes in order to maybe find some more postings written by him... Most of the postings we have been looking at were those containing his full name - and I think he wrote many posts only to distract the animal rights group abit.
If you look at this for instance:
http://forums.miamibeach411.com/general-discussion/7346-strong-self-esteem-luka-magnotta-2010-a.html
He claims here that he has recently moved to Miami, but if you follow the thread, a moderator is revealing that his IP address shows he was in Canada when he wrote it.
In many other posts on different websites, he always seems to make sure his full name is there, either to advertise his name or maybe to distract the animal rights groups trying to track him down.
So, if we could create a small list of his spelling mistakes we may be able to find other posts by him, maybe find something relevant to the murder?
I have not been very successful so far, but I am not that good in spelling in English. What I have found is: "probley", "parants", "accross", and maybe "asthough" (isnt it "as_though"?).
I know it would not be easy to find something, because many people make spelling mistakes like that. At least it will be helpful to distinguish LMs posts from trolls.
Please tell me if you think its a stupid idea :blushing:

there's one thing he typically does that I'm hesitant to post about because of the trolls everywhere but FWIW:

he almost always makes a statement in the form of a question

I've seen it repeatedly
