Does anyone know if Fields was present when Misty "cracked"?

oNLY thing i can find about Fields is this..

Snip~
Her attorney, Robert Fields, confirmed she met with investigators, but declined to comment further.
End snip~

I would think her atty would be present for such interrogations, I mean why else even have an atty if he's of know use to protect his client from these brutal interrogations that end with his client on suicide watch..
But then again for those exact reasons it makes me believe he wasn't present.. Would he have let them push his client this far???????

Well, I do not like revealing my cynical side any more than necessary but sometimes there is no other way to go: I think we will see Misty behind prison bars before we hear what really happened to Haleigh, and then it will only happen if a deal could be arrived at to commute whatever trafficking sentence she gets.

Another thing I do not like to say out loud: I would like to hear from Werter right about now.

Yeah...Werter is really hard to take, but he was going on and on about how Misty and Tommy's 'Joe' stories matched...I'd like to hear what he has to say about Misty's most recent telling.

Sorry to quote myself, but I wanted to splain what I meant by "they". I meant the players in putnam county, not my WS poster friends.:blushing:

LOL Nonni B!

I never once took what you said incorrectly. Probably because I have a nice, healthy, high opinion of all of our opinions, especially mine. :D

I mean, I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

I have been asking myself one question today. What does the actual perpetrators normally do?

Well imo is they point the finger at someone else.

And that is what is happening here.

Misty now is pointing the finger at Tommy! (ask him HE knows what happened!)

And Tommy is pointing the finger at Joe.

So imo the two involved in this are Misty and Tommy.

IMO

I also believe Misty when she says this.Just I feel It wasn't Joe Overstreet.I feel someone else was there or some where else.I do believe someone groped her and then went to Haleigh in some kind of attack. But it was not Joe Overstreet or tommy. It was someone else.I also believe the other Joe P's statement in the affidavit he signed.I feel it may or may not have been an overdose on Haleigh by her getting into pills.Possibly pills given to make her sleep or an attack of some kind on little Haleigh by someone.I do believe Haleigh was put in a black bag and taken some where.I feel Misty knows exactly what happened to little Haleigh.

Quote from Misty

http://www.wtsp.com/news/mostpop/story.aspx?storyid=141696&provider=top

Misty, Joe Overstreet, and Tommy Croslin, were at the mobile home. Overstreet was looking for Ronalds machine gun and when he couldn't find the gun, he took out his frustrations out on Misty Croslin, pushing, shoving and sexual groping her.

Joe Overstreet then headed for Haleigh. Misty and Ronald Jr. hid under some covers. They were able to hear Haleigh screaming, struggling and crying.

Haleigh became quiet and Misty saw Joe put her in a black cloth bag.

When Crystal and little JR was on Geraldo.Jr said a man in black took his sissy.I believe I remember little JR say Haleigh did not wake up.Maybe that was when Misty said she did not hear Haleigh any more after a struggle and all was quiet and she was then possibly put in a black bag.

I know, Emma. We have it down pat don't we. At least I do until I read a better theory here.:blushing:

Yeah, I bet he and Tommy are having some serious kind of meeting right about now. We're likely to hear another theory from them soon about how Misty did "IT" and tried to pull poor Tommy into it, and how it is all Misty and Jo's doings.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If he was present and allowed his client to be blasted for hours until she is screaming and shaking, how exactly is he protecting and looking out for her?:waitasec:

I must say that I'm very glad that a new set of eyes (Daytona State Prosecutor, Ed Davis) is helping out with the questioning of the players in this case. Maybe we can see this case solved very soon.

Lone...I wonder why there is a new set of eyes now. And a prosecutor, not LE. Is it possible an arrest is about to be made and it is believed that a change of venue will be necessary?

OK what do you think about this? Maybe? I dunno I'm brain dead. Maybe he believes she is not the one that harmed Haleigh and that he is trying to do everything to save her from a life sentence because she is being not smart by refusing to say what she knows? Maybe?

I'm just thinking tough love now is better than trying to reverse a 50 year sentence on appeal if she smartens up later?

ETA does this make sense? LOL I'm so overwhelmed with this case!

I think that might have been what happened...He wants her to "fess up" and save herself as much as she can....and IF Ron is the guilty one...TELL IT!!!! and quit covering for him....!!!

And that maybe EXACTLY what she did.....that would explain..the suicide watch over her......IMO...she incriminated Ron....

What else would explain...the suicide thoughts....??

This is the first time Misty...has....EVER...mentioned....suicide....thruout this whole case for 19 months..(please correct me if I am in error). While she was being interrogated the other night....

It was something she felt soooo bad for afterwards.....something she said that she could not live with herself for...after saying it.....

Now what could THAT be???:waitasec:....

MOO...

I have a question. Well a lot of questions, but just this one for now. If Misty's atty knew she was being questioned, and wasn't present, would this be grounds for an appeal if charges were made later on?

It could be raised as a point but technically Misty can choose to speak to anyone without her attorney present at her whim. LE would of course want to have on video or at least audio recording that she is there willing and of her own accord, and that the communication is voluntary on her part.

Why her attorney would allow it or not show doesn't make sense to me. He may have been informed afterwards, and has since confirmed that they talked. A client that does not follow instructions or recommendations is difficult for any attorney. If you remember the last time Casey saw George and Cindy for a visit she clearly says JB told her not to take visitors, and that JB will be upset about this. But Casey is the inmate, it is her decision to make, against her attorney's wishes though it might be.

Gosh I don't know. I guess maybe one of our lawyers would need to answer that. :)

Thanks, impatienthead. Also, I guess if the charge is muder, and there is a conviction, that would automatically be appealed. Am I right?

If she was sentenced to death in a murder trial there would be an automatic appeal process that she would be entitled to as part of the capital portion of the case.

If she is not sentenced to death an appeal would have to be based on something that occured during the trial, and they would have to prove that there was a merit for a retrial.

That is my understanding without going and pulling up sentencing guidelines for the state anyway. But I think that is pretty standard.

If it was Tommy, who decided on the story that would be told to the world?

It wasn't Tommy sitting beside Misty on National TV giving her cues and correcting her when she couldn't remember her story. It wasn't Tommy saying it wasn't Misty's fault just because she was the last one to see Haleigh. It was Ron and GGMS and TN who sang Misty's praises as her being a great step mother to the kids and how well she cared for them. The best girl Ron ever had.

That wedding looked like a shot gun ceremony to me. Everyone was happy about the wedding but Ron. So someone besides Misty decided it was in everyone's best interests for them to be married. IMO

I don't know what she means but Tommy did it ask Tommy. I really wish Tommy would tell the truth. How many times is he going to let Misty throw him under the bus?

The feeling is mutual, Grandma. Clearly Misty had been fed a story and whenever TN/GMS/Ron/Tommy decided to change the story around Misty followed suit....but because MIsty was the "key" player she appeared less and less credible. All part of the plan, IMO.

I think the person that gave Misty that heirloom ring also decided that the wedding was a very good idea. Teresa.
