I put no faith in anything NG says, thats just me
The quote about the cameras is not NGs

The quote, from Savidge, a CNN Correspondent, was contradicting ABC's reports about the cameras being in back.

I don't want to start another horse beating marathon, just saying - so many different stories.

All I know for sure about the cameras is that they are located where Robyn went to the restroom.

If you would like to quote my post, go ahead

I am voicing an opinion and asking for a link from anyone who may have one

Please quote whomever you are addressing, otherwise this will become confusing.

What do you need a link for?

I have no intentions of starting another marathon either

The bathrooms are NOT in the back of the building

There is no footage from the back of the building

I am addressing all posters here................ as to not confuse anyone
Does anyone have a link showing footage of GG and RG at the back of the building?

Dushi, you have access to the same footage as everyone else....the footage will never change - no more footage, just that. They were leaving the restaurant - I'm assuming through the front.

If there's footage of them actually getting into their car on August 2nd, I have not seen it.

Yes

So if there were cameras at the back of the restaurant, i am going to go out on a lmb and suggest we would have seen footage of GG behind the restaurant the night Rg went missing

I realize that reports have been way off in this case
Some things can be figured out by looking at the video we have

There is no footage I have seen that shows them getting into the car. The link I just posted was from Monday, just after the restaurant had closed so I don't know where that camera was located. The reporter said back but it's doubtful because in the reenactment they are parked on the side of the building. GG said because of the shade (probably that late in the day it was from the building because the trees do not look very tall). jmo

On LC's link:

RG and GG, Seaside, where they are walking along the beach, behind the restaurant, August 1
RG and GG leaving to parking area where there is not beach, August 2
GG coming up stairs in front of parking area August 2
RG walking all the way around the restaurant where there are open tables to where there are the closed doors August 2

The cameras that took the footage of them walking along the beach look to be mounted in a delivery area - is this the restaurant?

Ok, I have watched the video many times
The problem is, there is no beach behind the restaurant
It is scrub land and a long way from the water
I can see some large trees but I can't make out anything else

The beach is to the side of the building

I can't figure out the video at all

If you stand and face the back of the building, there is a beach to the right, the right side of the building

Its almost like a small beach before but connected to baby Beach , if that makes sense

I completely agree with this

BEM: Could there be a reason GG would lie about where he parked?

Where ever my sister and her husband go on a cruise or to an Island I still say to this day, When you have that "Rum Runner" on the beach think about me.

It's a drink

He didn't use it in the context of a drink...on the Robin Roberts interview it is said at 2:22. It's also a place on the Island to dive.

i think elley mae posted her comment for the same reason i posted what i did earlier... to suggest why the phrase "rum runner" was on his mind instead of "rum reef"... b/c it's a common phrase (name of a popular tropical drink; name used for bars like the one in my hometown; name given to smugglers of alcohol and their ships in the 1920's)... could explain why it was on the tip of his tongue... plus he was being questioned/"interrogated" (and by someone named "robin"!!)

THANK YOU!!!

He should have been screaming while in the ocean. And screaming at the top of his lungs while running from the water, and still screaming and RUNNING while going to the closed bar. And through the parking lot, SCREAMING for help.

I once drove down a street and we saw a frantic mother SCREAMING for help with her child, who had just been pulled from a pool. Her husband was giving CPR and she was out front waiting for the EMTS, but she was STILL SCREAMING for help because she was so scared and shocked.

GG was sauntering, rather slowly, and pretty quietly, for someone worried that his friend was drowning. And 19 minutes to go around back? wow That is like slow motion.

I think it's really interesting that GG claims he was in so much "distress" that he was having to try to "save himself", all because his gigantic athletic shoes were weighing him down :waitasec:.

Hmmm, so why was he wearing those heavy leather athletic shoes for snorkeling in the first place, yet Robyn was bare foot??? And he claims in one of the interviews he had flippers, so why wasn't he using them?

And why was he taking Robyn snorkeling in the first place if she didn't have the appropriate gear?

To get to my point, if all of this was true, then when he in fact made it to shore and realized Robyn wasn't there, why then did he not remove his shoes and go back out in an attempt to find and help her.

Instead, he inanely walked around like some kind of night of the living dead zombie, tapping on closed shutters where he knew there was no one to answer. :shakehead:

I have never seen reports that he was shouting. I actually saw him explaining why he was NOT shouting when asked. And he said he did not shout because eh knew there was nobody around. I found that odd. Screaming comes naturally when one is in a life and death situation, imo. Even if you do not SEE anyone, you scream out of fear and hope that somebody will hear you. imo

BBM. That's exactly right.

Oh, he was quite adamant in the interview that he absolutely did not take Robyn to an isolated area, that Baby Beach was right there, that the dive shop was just a 100 yards away, of course he fails to mention it was closed and vacated at that time. Quite convenient for his purposes I'd say.

This shows them walking (the reporter claims "behind" the closed restaurant) on Monday. It looks as if it is a store room or the back of a kitchen where the camera is located. jmo

Why did GG choose that particular area to go "snorkeling" at that particular time of day? Did he know that the restaurant and the dive shop would both be closed? Did he suspect that Baby Beach would most likely be deserted that late in the day as well? My guess would be yes, as he would have discovered that the day before when he did his trial run. jmo

In this video, retired FBI profiler Brad Garrett states that GG is walking around like he doesn't really care, and is not acting like a "normal person" who would be very excited, desperately beating on doors trying to find someone.

But then, perhaps it would be difficult to appear excited or desperate to find help if one didn't really want to get help, especially if one had knowledge that the victim was already dead at their own hands. jmo

Has anyone even looked at the map in the link I posted? Would it be too much to ask, since he did mention "rum runner" during his interview, to consider the possibility he slipped? Robyn's somewhere, just not anywhere they've looked.

The Rum Runner, as described in the link I gave and on this photo, position 28, is in the same area as Palm Beach - where, after much arguing, we decided they were staying. That's about 30 minutes from Baby Beach.

Are there no other restaurants or snorkeling sites close to where they were staying? They weren't drinking rum, they were drinking vodka. He didn't bring attention to the mistake by correcting himself. He'd been jailed for three months - The Rum Reef was, by then, branded into his mind.

It has been established that GG parked on the side of the building
Photos of the reenactment have established that.. at least for me

I have not seen any video footage taken from the back of the facility
If you have a link, I would like to see it

At just under a minute in this video:

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/aruba-mystery-footage-raises-questions-14499567

Matt Gutman states "Half an hour later, you see them here, in this grainy image ambling along the beach behind the closed restaurant." Note that this was recorded the first day they visited. It's not stated explicitly here, but I believe I've seen other videos where it was claimed to be a camera from the Dive Shop.

BTW. I've been using this URL:

http://abcnews.go.com/search?searchtext=%22robyn%20gardner%22

to search for videos (with the search argument "Robyn Gardner") and I've discovered that about 1 in 3 videos no longer exist from the list that this search produces.
