I know that the idea of Robyn planning her own disappearance has been brought up here and there, in the media, etc. I have been turning that over in my mind and feel the need to write it down, so here are some of my thoughts:
GG was the last one with her and claimed the story of accidental drowning, so he would have to have been involved with Robyn's plan first hand.
If Robyn wanted to just disappear without a trace, it would have been much easier to choose a scenario that Robyn left the room at night to take a walk on the beach, disappeared into the darkness and never came back, something along those lines. But no, then there would have been no 1.5 million waiting in the wings.
Thus, the "snorkeling and drowning" story. Even though it's hard to prove/disprove and brings so many questions, plus there were witnesses in the area of the alleged drowning site, it was still the best he could come up with to explain her disappearance and still possibly claim the 1.5 mill. Even if it means waiting for seven years, not a bad payoff.
Back to the theory, would the deal between them have been that Robyn had to sign this insurance policy as his payoff to assist her in her plan? Or, would they have planned to split the payoff. This would have required a tremendous amount of trust on her part.
Then, where would she go, how would she support herself, how would she hide with her very noticeable tattoo, and her photos plastered all over the national news and the internet.
Also, who would want to live a life in hiding, which would be far from the free, unrestricted lifestyle Robyn seemed to enjoy living, unless perhaps in the case of someone trying to evade the law, or someone who's life is in danger for some reason.
Also, Robyn was getting alimony from her ex-husband. Why would she want to disappear and give up that monthly income voluntarily.
GG knows that if someone drowns, and there's no body, he can possibly collect, even if he has to wait seven years. If her body does wash ashore, it would be too late to determine the cause of death and it can only be ruled a drowning. That is unless maybe he bludgeoned her with a rock or something and there was evidence of that on the skeletal remains. :twocents:
I'm sure I'm missing something though, so any other thoughts are more than welcome. TIA
