Waves and tides are not caused by the same thing. Tides are caused by the action of the moon and will cause currents as they wax and wane. Waves are caused by wind action over wide stretches of water, but do not generate currents allthough they will impart some energy to anything floating on top of them. If you dont have a lot of wave action, because one side of the island is sheltered from the prevailing wind direction, there would be little to drive anything onto shore and movement would largely be dependent on the tides and local wind conditions.

The direction a body would float would depend on the tide at the time, the prevailing wind direction and the local wind direction at the time.

Thanks, I was going to point this out but you said it better than I could. Waves have nothing to do with tidal currents, other than short riptides. A person caught in a riptide will resurface after a relatively short distance (although they may drown in the meantime). But I don't think one can draw conclusions about tides from the existence or non-existence of waves crashing on any given shore.

The most recent shocker was the discovery of graphic photographs on Giordano's digital camera. The images, a source tells PEOPLE are "beyond pornographic."

No other information about the photos has been revealed, and it's still not known exactly when the pictures were taken.

That in itself is suspicious if he actually did say his travelling companion was "taking a later flight". Why if she was missing, would he make that statement?

:waitasec:

If he made the statement to customs because of his ticket it could be that he didn't want to go through the hassle of explaining himself again to customs agents, and possibly out of respect for RG.

I'm not saying that he has any mind, or he is completly innocent... but still...

I believe as another poster mentioned earlier on that the whole thing could have been an accident, perhaps.

However, trying to claim the travel insurance money two days after he reported her missing (if true) is in rather bad taste don't you think?

Just how reliable is the media, it's seems they all have this habit of reporting things wrong all the time?

I wonder if he downloaded the pics he took or was saving that for when he got home, I also wonder if what he took pics of is something he wanted to take or was this an assignment that he was being paid for?

I am going out on a limb.... They went there for a photo shoot. He being the photographer and she being the model. I don't know what happened, but something happened. Whether it had to do with what they went there for who knows. I think that's how he makes money,I think they knew each other from this "work" and she just recently lost her job in a dentist office, so she would need some money.
-------------------
Well, I already went out on that limb numerous times from the beginning on Thread #1. I also wondered what 🤬🤬🤬🤬 photos he would have taken of her on Aruba, and prior to Aruba, since that is his history--he had a history of taking photos/filming his prior girlfriends (apparently unknown to them) and posting the material--distributing it. I also wondered if part of his income is making money from 🤬🤬🤬🤬. And, I don't think Robyn was aware of the scope of his "photographic" interests. She may have just thought he was going to take sexy model photos of her. I explained my thoughts on all of this in Thread #1.

In keeping with my thoughts on this matter:

I also asked about what camera equipment/camcorders he had brought with him, a day before the news broke that the FBI had confiscated a camera, and then a day after that we were informed by the People article that there were 🤬🤬🤬🤬 images, beyond 🤬🤬🤬🤬 images on that camera.

CNN Transcript of GG Interview.

This would be helpful to look at. We could gain alot from his responses. Let's toss in a call.

Dang, you must have ESP keep at it and let us know where the body is.

These are the prevailing currents in that part of the Carribean. If you were swept out to sea, it looks like the Carribean current would carry you roughly parallel to the western Aruban coastline. So if she was washed ashore it could be anywhere along the west coast, and after that she would be carried out into the open ocean, maybe landing up in central America if she made it that far.

The south/west coast of Aruba shows coastal structures that clearly indicate that there is significant longshore drift there, but not on the north/east side.

Thanks for the link. So, combining the map you posted with the other map, we have the following:

colson_currents.gif

In both cases, it looks like the wind and current would take someone westward, away from the Island. The area where they allegedly were swimming is known for riptides so it is conceivable that someone could get caught in the current and, by the time help arrived, that person could be well on their way the middle of the ocean. Do you know how to find tidal charts for Aug 2? I can't seem to find any backdated tidal charts.

Let's say she did drift out to sea right there. Somebody earlier mentioned how these stories criminals tell always have some truth mixed in. Well maybe Gary was swimming for his life - after swimming out as far as he could with a dead body. He almost drowned getting caught in the current he took her out to. He was truthfully just trying to save his own life. Nice twist on his part. Anyway, how long would it take for the body to wash up in Venezuela? Is there a past example?

Excellent thoughts you have there.

Also in the last thread I wondered if he took her out in the water and weighed her body down somewhere and hid it underwater. Someone here said he was a scuba diver in addition to being a snorkeler.

Here's another question I asked, and it follows on the heels of what you just said about him taking her body out as far as he could:

Was a boat waiting out there to meet him and ferry her body further away from the island? Here's a horrific thought--maybe she was still alive.

Did GVG notify the travel insurance company that Robyn was missing at sea two days after she disappeared? That would make sense, wouldn't it? Clearly he wouldn't be able to collect on the policy when she was only missing for 2 days.

As for the photos on the camera, Taco Stein said that the photos do not indicate that Robyn was an unwilling participant ... even though the photos are "beyond pornographic".

On the one hand, it has been suggested the neither he nor Robyn would get into the water because their hair would get wet, on the other hand it's suggested that he was a scuba diver. I don't think there was an accomplice ... there is no evidence suggesting that.

HLN.... GG is talking again to police
Refuses to asnwer old questions again
But agrees to answer new questions

Taco Stein said he didn't see the photos himself. How would a photo really prove whether or not someone was willing, especially given the fact that she could have been drugged?

JR gave a graphic description in the press that all that was shown in some were "organs". How would they know she was a willing participant in those photos? Taco Stein didn't see the photos but a small time local press knows specifics details about the photos?

It's irresponsible for someone in authority to say she looked like a willing participant when they don't know if she was drugged in them.

The more I think about this using the scenario where the death was unplanned, that's exactly what he would have done. He would want to dispose of that body and fast. He would not want to be driving around with a dead body in the car. He would look at the water and get her in there ASAP before someone notices her dead. Then he would have swum her out there as FAR as he possibly could, to where that body would not float back. He would have had a hell of a time swimming back. He would have been in a mental frenzy on what to do, and his actions were scatter-brain with the being caught on video at 6 pm yet not making it to the other side of the building until 20 minutes later. He may have been unsure what to say, when to say it, etc. He probably thought about just pretending she ran away, or took off with another friend. But his safest bet in his mind was to say she drowned and drifted off there. That way, even if the body does show up, it aligns with his story.

ETA: Also, the snorkeling story would explain to anyone what he was doing out there with her in case he was seen. He would have had her face down like she was snorkeling.

My thoughts are that it was unplanned also. If he wanted to murder her, wouldn't it have been easier to do it in the US?

Your theory makes sense, it's always said that there is usually pieces of truth thrown in with lies.

I also thought your theory about throwing her from the cliff made sense too.

I reviewed the traveller's insurance policy. Here are some key points:

In addition, if interrupted in
the course of a Covered Trip, the Covered Person
must call Us at 1-800-228-6855 within the United
States or collect at 1-303-273-6497 from anywhere
else prior to making any additional accommodations
or transportation arrangements. Failure to do so
may affect coverage.

b. Repatriation of Mortal Remains
When death occurs while on a Covered Trip We will
pay the Reasonable and Customary expenses for the
preparation and transportation of the Covered Person’s
remains or ashes to the commercial airport nearest the
Covered Person’s Permanent Residence. In no event
will We pay more than the enrolled benefit amount.
We must approve this service in advance.

If the Covered Person’s emergency needs immediate
attention, he/she should acquire local assistance and
then contact the Travel Assistance Hotline as soon as
the Covered Person is reasonably able to do so. The
Travel Assistance Hotline provider will do everything
possible to assist the Covered Person immediately
upon calling. Unfortunately, there are occasional
situations beyond Our control that make providing
support difficult. Our assistance providers will make
every possible attempt to service the Covered Person
during his or her emergency. Our assistance provider’s
staff will do its very best to refer the Covered Person
to appropriate and reputable providers located nearest
him or her. However, neither We nor Our assistance
provider can be held liable for the outcome or quality
of the care the Covered Person receives from these
independent practitioners.

These points reflect that it is not incriminating that GG contacted AMEX regarding his traveller's insurance policy a couple of days after her disappearance.

6. Exclusions That Apply To All Benefits
Benefits are not payable if the loss for which coverage
is sought was directly or indirectly, wholly or
partially, contributed to or caused by:

f. Being under the influence of any drug, unless
taken as prescribed or administered on the advice
of a Physician;

g. Consumption of alcohol at or in excess of the
legal blood alcohol level in the state or locality in
which the Accident occurred;

p. Voluntary ingestion, injection, or inhalation of
any substance;

By GG's own statements, he has made the accidental death policy null and void. If he had truly premeditated to kill RG to collect a 1.5 million dollar payout, he would have been very careful to not negate the policy by stating she had been drinking and had taken sleeping pills before going snorkeling.

My conclusion is that this insurance policy is NOT a motive, and that this has nothing to do with her death.
