Yes, very true, and I am completely open to that...

And yet, it wasn't RF that flew to Aruba for an all-expense-paid vacation with another woman he had been seeing on the side regularly while lying about it to RG.

The friend's innuendos are completely vague and unspecified, therefore I can't really give much weight to them until she clarifies. At this point, she might just hold a grudge against RF for any number of reasons, not the least of which could be that RG may have lied to HER about the way "things were" the same way she lied to RF. This may have been simply to justify to her friend why she would run off on impulse with known scum-bucket to Aruba while she was still living with RF.

They may both be nice people who were having a bad time and about to break up. I can't just discount what the friend said, I got the impression that she didn't want to air their dirty laundry on tv. Others have said that when they were on together in an interview, she would roll her eyes at what RF was saying. Robyn isn't here to give her side.

RF obviously still loves Robyn, I wouldn't expect him to air all of the problems they may have been having because it doesn't matter now, he just wants to find her. We don't know if she was fooling him all this time or if he knew the problems were serious before she left and now just wants to find her safe and start over.

This is not new info but I wanted to bring up the fact he was drunk per that report. We know he was drinking vodka that day Robyn disappeared. He was also drinking the night of the alleged sexual assault.

I would say GG is a very dangerous man after reading this,and very capable of murder.

Sometimes people do what they normally would never do just because they don't care at that moment, feel like doing something they would never do, just on that day do not care if they mess up their hairpieces, are fed up by their exes, their ex employers, their debts, their families etc, and think ****** that hairpiece/extensions, I am going to snorkel today even if I mess up my fake hair.
It does happen no matter if 400 people insist Gary aswell as Robyn would never get their hair wet.
Maybe they felt lost together, felt they were escaping their boring lives with their exes and lawsuits and wanted to do something to underline they were fed up, and instead of going skydiving or bungee jumping they decided to get their hair wet, maybe that was thrillseeking for them. It is not impossible.

Ya know, I have to say I've wondered WHY two people who can't get their hair wet would even choose Aruba? :waitasec:

I've not been to Aruba....is there some other great land-based recreation there? Golf? Tennis? I mean, every time I've gone on an island/tropical vacation it's been because of the water (snorkeling, surfing, swimming etc).

In retrospect, the cruise ship idea would have fit this pair better. Look at the ocean, sit in the pool up to your chest, drink pretty cocktails.

Which brings me to my second question:

RG refused a cruise trip from GG earlier in the year.

What changed between the time of that cruise and the trip to Aruba?

RG is NOT cheating on RF. She is, per her friends, a beautiful, loving and trusting person. IME people who are trusting also tend to be trustworthy.

RF knows "about" GG, or at least of his type, and accepts his existence(or at least did in the past--he may have been hoping to change the flavor of their relationship). In an open relationship RF would also have other partners. That's OK and is not considered "cheating".

GG knows of RF and accepts his existence as well. He may like rough sex, but it's not jealousy that sets him off. In fact, for a poly, the thought of a lover with another is actually a turn-on. IMO it's something else that fuels his anger/violence.

Why should he? If my partner of several years turned up missing in a foreign country on an expense-paid vacation with a paramour after telling me he was visiting FAMILY out of state, he'd never hear word one from me again!

RF staying well away from the twisted drama might indicate he has some sense, dignity, and emotional stability.

He certainly hasn't emptied his bank account and deserted his job for a flight to Aruba, hotel accommodations, and three meals a day to ......well.....good question.....to do exactly WHAT? Ask the same questions of the same people that have already been asked tenfold? Stand in the street and tell passersby that he used to date a woman who came to Aruba with a secret boyfriend and who then turned up missing? Tell folks how she "done him wrong" but shucks, he got a trip to Aruba out of it?

I guess I just don't get the point of what you expect him to do. Networks in the US that PURSUE and then send a camera and mic to do a few minutes of on-air interview is a whole different ballgame than screwing up your life (and bank account) for something that serves no known purpose.

Why are you not carping about her parents and brother not being in Aruba? If anyone, they would be the more appropriate advocates for her. Yet we do not think THEY are terrible for not being there.

I get what you are saying, but I think you are missing MY point.

If RF had not made a statement to the press in the first place, would we even know his name???

I mean, he's just a guy. Who happened to be kind-of-dating RG. But unless he came forward on his own, would we, the general public, even know who he is?

I for one, most certainly don't expect him to be combing the beaches of Aruba.
