I heard on the news today that the attorney for this guy that supposedly did something to this woman has filed to get his client released immediately. Any Aruba news specialists here that can confirm this?

On the RG FaceBook page they are reporting the hearing will be held Wed of this week.

Some questions I have if anyone has info:

1. Why doesn't the Aruba Herald website say who wrote their articles? Is Julia Renfro connected to that website in any way?

2. Why did (or would) People Magazine accept Julia Renfro as a reliable source? A cursory look into her background with a google search reveals much inaccuracy in her reporting on the NH case.

3. Why does People Magazine not name Julia in their article? This is something that would have been done, one would think, unless Julia had wanted to remain anonymous, right?

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20520711,00.html

4. Nicole has a 20 year background in investigative reporting, and has covered some famous stuff. Is it possible she had a better source than Renfro?

5. Why did People only use that part of Julia's statement? Or was that a different source?

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusiv...-robyn-gardner-found-suspect-s-digital-camera

6. How did Radar know the source (if it was Renfro for People) when it isn't stated in the People article? How did they get those other comments she made? Did they reveal a source that had asked to remain anonymous? Or did they get their own interview with Renfro (but if so, why would she be ok with her name being used here, but not with People magazine)

7. Is it possible Renfro made it up, using what was already known from the People magazine article that the images are "beyond pornographic"? Does she really have a source in ALE? Has she ever been accurate in her reporting, in this or the NH case? Honest question.

8. Speculating that she did make it up, is it possible that ALE came down on her after this report and it is why she has been invisible ever since, except posting as Glenda on another forum? She loved the media spotlight in the NH case it appears, there are lots of interviews to find via google. Is she now just wreaking havoc with lies by way of being an anonymous "source" for ABC and others?

MOO.

According to Renfro, she has no details of the investigation, but yet provides details as if she's somebody in the know. :waitasec: Based on her comments, she is obviously connected to somebody close to the investigation, just as she was in the NH case. IMO, she has been a source of leaks, false information, and innuendo; a journalist at its worst!

Where is that "Shark Pit" anyway? That seems to be an easy out. Even Joran(Urin) hinted that our own Natalee insisted on going to visit. I always found that very strange that young Natalee would encourage those boahs to take her to a "shark pit".

IMO - I think someone would have to take a body very far from shore in order to assure that disposal would be without evidence remaining, shark(s) or no shark(s).

BBM. Thank you. From the NH reports online, it appears none of her leaks were accurate. Therefore, I don't think it's likely she is connected to somebody close to the investigation. Rather, she wants people (such as Radar and ABC) to think she is. MOO.

One of her colleagues had this to say:

Dana Pretzer:

Heres's a question, about the media in Aruba, in particular Julia Renfro. Is it fair for other media people to speak about her, as far as her investigative reporting and any biases that go either way and the professionalism thereof. Could you comment on her, we hear she's writing a book, are there other cases of media in Aruba that just should be brought forward as far as bad reporting goes ?

Jossy Mansur:

I can't comment on a colleague, but I'll say she's been proven wrong many times. I dont know why she's writing a book for what purpose or objective with that. The best thing she can do is reporting the facts, and stop being against the family like she is now.

...

Dana:

Regarding the rocks and finding the body of the young boy. there was never any story printed in the newspapers, when they were looking for Natalee. How can that be that it was ignored? Was it because of the Holloway case?

Jossy:

It was reported, it wasn't reported in detail because the police and prosecution don't give out much detail. They keep everything secret when they're investigating..that's why we have to as reporters we have to go out in the field to dig for the answers.

I also think it's possible she timed the "inside info" of the last batch with the ruling that GG had to remain in custody for 60 more days. The day that was announced was the day that it came out GG had a scratch on his throat (which Taco Stein discredited as false) and other statements said to have been from witness statements.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/aruba-judge-orders-robyn-gardner-suspect-stay-jail/story?id=14418807

What is baffling is that other journalists would even pay attention to her after the poor show she put on with the NH case. The cat is out of the bag as to her shenanigans, and has been for years. This is troubling and frustrating as many news releases on this case could be fabricated, and quite a few have already been shown to be.

MOO.

I've heard it reported on HLN, as well as photos that show the Ren. I have heard it reported that it was one of the PALM beach Marriott's too.

My point was about the Marina, but there is a boating warf at the Surf Club/Palm beach too.
I may be mistaken, but I think the Renaissance may be a Marriott property?

Several days ago I made a post, and then deleted it because I thought it might be too graphic or upsetting.

The question I had was:

If investigators think that sharks may have consumed the body, are they looking to capture sharks in the area to find out if there are any body parts in their stomachs?

Yesterday, I read an article about a young man who while bodyboarding in Australia, was attacked by a shark and died.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/australasia/bodyboarder-killed-in-shark-attack-2349186.html

A shark bit the legs off a bodyboarder at a popular surfing spot in western Australia, killing the man, police said. Authories were reportedly searching for the shark as well as the man's missing limbs.
Please excuse if this is much too morbid, but I have read that when sharks attack humans, they will not consume the whole body, maybe only a part or two as they are really not their choice of diet. So if this is the case, shouldn't parts not eaten wash to shore?

Comment on page regarding the photos:

"Abattoir trucks used to drive up to this huge ramp and ditch carcasses into the sea. Sharks swarmed."

If nothing of what Robyn wore in the last photos were found, perhaps as someone mentioned she was handed off for human trafficking. Wonder if there were any boats in that area during that time?

I have thought from the beginning it was probably human trafficking. Then when I heard the reports of the fight and the blood and so on, I started doubting, but also thought it could have been staged. But then how accurate those reports are who knows? And how likely is it that they will find a body if Robyn was taken off the island and there is no body? I originally thought about the Natalee Holloway case in which a reporter said she had been moved around from place to place on the island for several days before they were able to get her off, and because I didn't think a boat would risk doing this during daylight hours. But now I don't know. If the hotel had a marina, how hard would it be to get her on a boat for a "sight seeing expedition", just a little daytime "cruise". It would just be another boat and blend in. Especially if Robyn was as drugged/intoxicated as is reported. I get the impression that RF also thinks it might be human trafficking because he keeps talking like he believes she's still alive.

Omg, that is so creepy.

I was just curious as to how many Americans had gone missing in Aruba and found this site. Since 1998, five Americans including Robyn have gone missing. Amy Lynn Bradley 1998, Willard "Bud" Larson- 1999, Gary Makings 2002 (snorkeling at Boca Catalina), Natalie Holloway -2005 and now
Robyn Gardner.

At this site under things to do and snorkeling and beaches all the snorkeling areas are listed and rated according to the strength of the current and roughness of the wave conditions. Some are not recommended for snorkeling at all. Interesting.

OMG. if you are going to do that... lets figure out how many tourists there are

Look around people, stuff happens everywhere, all locations where tourists party, drink , have fun

This is not location specific IMO

The Marriott website lists four Aruba properties:

* Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino, Oranjestad (hotel)

* Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, Palm Beach (hotel)

* Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club, Palm Beach (villas/rental/time shares)

* Marriott's Aruba Surf Club, Palm Beach (villas/rental/time shares)

DH and I have visited the downtown Renaissance and Marriott Resort in Palm Beach because we might eventually want to spend more time in Aruba than a day in port on a cruise.

I am not bashing Aruba here. I was looking for Aruba information and found this site which also lists the snorkeling spots. Just thought that I would share it just in case someone was interested. If any remains are found during this search I truly hope that the families can lay their loved ones to rest.

I lived in Jamaica for awhile and I'm aware that misssing people are not location specific. Don't really understand your reaction.

Aruba

LOL, I can imagine you don't understand my response and it is probably way out there
I guess i may be a bit sensitive about Aruba

I think I spent far too much time following another case , a case where Aruba was bashed

I guess my point is, its a small country, but many tourists.
Crime happens everywhere and I believe Aruba has far less than most tourist locales

I going to go outside the box some will not agree. I thought do I want to post my theory... and I say Why Not it just theory.

This case has seem fishy (not meant has a punt) from the beginning. IMO

Things just don't set right for me. In my theory this was insurance scheme that went wrong. I am not sure why it went so wrong but I think they thought the plan was going to be lot easier.

Get Robyn on the boat to another vacation spot wait around for authorities to call her death accidental.
Collect insurance money, split with Robyn and she got a new life.

I hope I right and this was scheme.
Who get Insurance for a travel week trip for 1.5 millions?

IMO

I give this theory a LOT of credibility, especially IF it is true that GG paid nearly $600 for the insurance, IF Robyn really signed it herself, IF there is a bonafide witness, and IF Robyn knew GG had violent tendencies. Maybe, just maybe, they together were going to enact insurance fraud scheme on the cruise, Robyn got scared the preplanned "rescue boat" wouldn't really rescue her, and backed off. Maybe, just maybe, she negotiated something that felt "safer" to her. Just stepping onto a boat from dry land might have felt like it reduced the odds of a "double-cross".

Does anyone know if the fraud is perpetrated in a foreign country, is that crime chargeable/punishable in the USA? What exactly IS the penalty?

Don't forget the young boy, Max DeVries, who went missing in Aruba on May 12, 2004. His body has never been found.

Is that the child who went sea-dooing with a man that he and his family met on the Island?
That is so sad
