I heard that, I scoff!

I don't think anythings been found yet but it isn't because cadaver scent wouldn't be there. Now if we're talking trailing dogs, this would be true.

Here's some pics of the dog land searches going on. My Translate isn't working well on it.

I am having trouble translating it as well - if anyone can provide a good translation, it appears there is interesting info being said there regarding why they are searching Seroe Colorado.

This appears to be the translated version:

Tuesday morning at 6:30, investigators and six doghandlers from the Netherlands with their dogs started a search at Sero Colorado. The handlers and their dogs arrived on Aruba Sunday to help look for Robyn Gardner, an American woman who was reported missing by her travel partner.

The travel partner said he lost her at sea at Nanki, Sero Colorado; he was arrested a few days later, police suspected him of being involved in her disappearance. The Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the assistance from the Netherlands. The dogs are not cadaver dogs, which was the case in the Holloway investigation. Although authorities do not expect to find Gardner alive, they are using rescue dogs that can detect cadavers, but can follow one or more specific scents as well. The dogs and their handlers will be on-island until the weekend and will work every day. There is a large area to be covered and the circumstances are difficult. The terrain is bad and the sun and heat play a major role as well.

Perhaps these dogs can pick up Robyn's scent from something like her dress and help establish where she might have been taken, etc.

That would require a trailing dog and I'm afraid it's a bit late for that. It is possible one or more of those dogs is cross-trained trailing and cadaver, just my understanding a well trained trailing dog maybe can follow a scent about two weeks old. (maybe)

ETA: A cadaver dog should hit on human remains almost forever. Well it seems like that.

The defense attorney for Gary Giordano believes it is a waste of time for Aruban authorities to just now bring in cadaver dogs to search for the remains of his client's missing travel companion.

"I think it's grossly incompetent for cadaver dogs two plus months after the fact," Jose Baez told ABC's John Quinones. "Whatever scent of decomposition they expected to find is long gone."

:waitasec: I probably am misreading this, but it almost sounds as though JB is alluding to Robyn being killed on land, then some time lapsed before being dumped in the ocean. Why else would there be detectable decomposition at all before it "is long gone".
If she swept out to sea and drowned out there somewhere, where is the scent of decomposition ?
If she was buried on land, probably wasn't, just saying, and her body's still there, decomposition would still be there also. Am I as confused as this probably sounds?

You are right, he never said there would be no scent because she drowned
He said because too much time has past

"Whatever scent of decomposition they expected to find is long gone"

Which we know is untrue thanks to Peliman

Tracking dogs are too late... to find her scent

But don't you know that Jose Baez is an "expert" on dogs!! :floorlaugh:

Well with JB's last client they had to wait 31 days to search for decomposition and the dogs found it. He does not know much about dogs does he? jmo

By the CNN Wire Staff
August 22, 2011 -- Updated 1809 GMT (0209 HKT)

(CNN) -- Police in Aruba launched a new search on Monday for missing U.S. woman Robyn Gardner not far from the facility where the only suspect connected to the case is being held.

The area, a rough and rocky terrain on the Dutch Caribbean island, is located approximately 2 miles from the Correctional Institute of Aruba.

It was selected as a result of information authorities gained after interrogating Gary Giordano, and other information, said Aruba Solicitor General Taco Stein.

Police would not go into details about "other information" they had obtained.

It appears they are searching this same area with the dogs. I have not been able to match landmarks yet in the photos with the dogs, however, with the earlier search. It does appear to be the same coastal area, though. It is 2 miles NORTH of KIA, going up the coast. MOO.

Logs of last two days:

http://www.reddingshonden.nl/

Google translation:

The terrain varies from rough terrain with hard surfaces and sharp cacti, abandoned buildings due to thorns and bushes with long white beaches.

The result of the first day, despite the adaptation to heat, built a considerable part of the coast has been searched.

Wednesday, October 5: The second search-day.
Around 4:15 the alarm went off, after breakfast at 05:45 we started searching in a subsequent search area. We made the sunrise and it was noticed that the light was very fast. It was also the day a little less hot and there was a nice breeze in the morning force, but it was only right on the coast strip. A few hundred yards from the shore it was very hot including the heat radiation from the rock.

It soon became apparent that the media had been informed by the authorities regarding our participation in their search. We were all immediately visited by a journalist fimende so there was some delay in the progress of our research work. There were first some arrangements are made so we could continue our work undisturbed. The Aruban police (KPA) is then immediately blocks the passage which we did not suffer from unwanted human scent and other disturbances. That morning the dogs have done a good job despite the heat. Per dog looks how it stands for and then responding by enough or extra rest, watering and cooling, possibly in the refrigerated cars. Around 10:00 there is stopped and the dogs swam in the ocean. Then there is dinner and comfortable in the house where is staying. Around the clock will again be collected from 15:30 on the search location to continue the search until dark.

The second part of the day was again very hot and there is also sought for the part that worked like the KPA wanted. Besides the physical part and the terperatuur things we should be careful with certain plants and reptiles that live there. We worked until dark and the dogs have worked very well.

Thursday, October 6: The third search.
This day had the same format as yesterday morning. It was further found that with the previous day has ended. The early morning was cloudy so the sun could not immediately put his stamp. Also there was a pleasant breeze. We start the temperature more bearable which is nice. It is all the dogs and worked well together and the Aruban police can see what we do and what AOL has been investigated. With them it goen together and the atmosphere is very good. The morning we stopped in an area which was also very rough in some places very difficult to access. However, it was decided a further pause to rest above the dogs to give extra rest because we have to / want to search Sunday. Therefore, we drove to our stay and will be back early Friday morning start searching.
We will keep you informed on this page.

Just days after Gardner went missing, Giordano called American Express Travel four times, asking about how he could redeem his policy. Police documents show that the American Express representative who took one of the calls said Giordano sounded excited, like he had "just won the lottery." The representative was so troubled by his behavior that the person called the police, but Baez called foul on the evidence and reiterated that Giordano's other attorney, Michael Lopez, had advised his client to call AmEx.
"I think if they're going to release the transcripts they should release the audio and then we can really hear for ourselves," he said.

BBM: But wait, wait, wait a minute. GG called AmEx BEFORE he was arrested so he had no lawyer at the time, much less an Aruban one. jmo

It certainly wasn't a well thought out statement, thats for sure

Hah, pay no attention to the man. ;) I have to qualify my statements some. If she's on land and the dogs are within that location, they would find her for years. SAR's uses a grid search method to make sure all locations outlined would be searched. Far as I know they are only searching the S.E. of the island. If NH was buried somewhere there and the dogs were close, they would probably find her.

I can't say for certain a sea search is being done, nor am I qualified to say how long a body could be detected if it was completely decomposed in the ocean. I'd have to leave that question to the experts.

A well trained cadaver dog should find an eye tooth buried. Emphasis on well trained, which is what a defense lawyer would question.

July 2011
- Robyn sends GG a text "Get me out of here." Per a report. there is a fight just prior to leaving for Aruba between GG and RF.

Saturday, July 30th - GG takes out Travel insurance policy for RG and himself.

Sunday, July 31st - Flight time from Maryland to Orlando is about 1 1/2 hours. Given the time they would have needed to be at the airport for security, my guess-timate is that they were at the airport no later than 6am.
9am – Orlando Airport: ABC News has seen receipts that revealed that the couple ordered four Bloody Marys at 9 a.m. at the Orlando Airport on their way to the island,
?? Arrive at hotel - and that the two bought a liter of Ciroq vodka after they checked into their room at the Marriott Hotel in Aruba.
Sunday, July 31, late afternoon - I met Robyn and Gary on the beach in front of the Marriott Stellaris Hotel. They had arrived on that day. My husband and I sat and spoke with them for awhile. They asked my husband and I about activities on the island.... Was shocked to see that this had happened, since we just spoke with them last Sunday, late afternoon. I am sure it was Robyn because I commented on her tattoo, indicating that I liked it. Didn't think they went together as a couple, as he was much older. She was also sitting kind of far away from him on the beach chair. She was nice. We were actually discussing the Natalee Holloway case. I will pray for her return.

Sunday, July 31st – evening/concert started at sunset - GG & RG attend party at MooMba’s/pictures at party/concert; the Balashi Beach Bash at MooMba

Monday, August 1st - GG and RG bought bottle of vodka this day, per reports.

3:09pm – Toyota RAV-4 drives by The Rum Reef Bar & Grill – seen on video.

3:41pm – GG & RG seen walking by the ‘closed’ restaurant gates –“ walking on beach” seen on video.

Tuesday. August 2nd – 2:05am - Facebook comment left on RF's wall by Robyn: "This sucks."

Tuesday, August 2nd – 6:51am - Prime murder suspect Gary Giordano, who friends said she met on a swingers sex site, is thought to have threatened to kill her while grabbing her by the neck and shoving her into an elevator on August 2 - the last day Miss Gardner, 35, was seen alive. The videotape from the Marriott Resort in Aruba allegedly shows the two having a furious and violent fight on the day she went missing. A source close to the investigation told the National Enquirer: 'They were having a major fight. Robyn was waving her arms and shouting at Giordano. He was grabbing her arms and jerking her around and shouting back at her. 'Then Giordano apparently realized their argument was heating up in public where someone might overhear them. He violently grabbed the back of Robyn's neck with one hand and shoved her back into the elevator with the other hand.' After reviewing the video multiple times, experts believe Robyn shouted: 'I'm out of here. I'm leaving F you!. I'm not spending another minute with you!' while he shouted back: 'Get back here! I'll kill you, b!tch!'

Tuesday, August 2nd – 7:57am - Facebook: RF to Robyn: “?? InBox me”

3:07pm - Arrived at restaurant – Seen on camera entering restaurant.

3:10pm - Robyn sends RF a Facebook message 'Don't worry. I care about you I love you we'll talk and sort things out when I got back,' Reportedly went to bathroom after entering restaurant.

At 3:57pm, Giordano returns to their rental car outside and refills his blue cup, going back inside at 4pm Seven minutes later, Gardner heads to the bathroom again. One witness has said that at this point she seems sober but groggy.

4:13pm - Robyn is last seen (leaving restaurant). A man who works near Baby Beach reported seeing their vehicle park up by the rocks close to the water, wondered why they chose there to go snorkeling. A fisherman comes forward and says that GG and RG never went into the water. Gardner was last seen alive Aug. 2 at the Rum Reef Bar & Grill in the Baby Beach area of Aruba with Gary Giordano - approximately 4pm. Giordano, 50, and Gardner, 35, had traveled to Aruba together. He is being held in an Arubian jail but could be released today. Giordano claims that Gardner got swept out to sea when the two went snorkeling

approx. 4:22pm - Approximately 10 minutes after leaving restaurant a fisherman reportedly saw Giordano and Gardner leaving a beach together, and said they did not get into the water.

Just before 5pm on August 2nd, the couple saw a white Toyota RAV4 just like the car Giordano rented parked in the eerie Dog Graves Beach Pet cemetery; as the couple drove along the road, they saw the man beating the woman in the face. He was slapping her really hard, then punching her with his fist and beating her on the head. She was screaming; the couple stopped their car, yelled at the man and asked what the hell he was doing. When the man saw them, he started his vehicle and drove off in the opposite direction. The shocked couple drove on to nearby Baby Beach. Then they thought about what they’d seen for a few minutes and drove back to Dog Graves Beach but didn’t find any trace of the other couple or their vehicle. They noticed it because vehicles are not allowed to park in that area, where Arubans have been burying their pets for generations. In fact, the car was parked on some of the pet graves (per National Enquirer Oct 3, 2011)

6:15pm (time seen on video) - GG knocking on several back doors.

6:16pm – (video) GG walking up the stairs.

6:16pm – (video) GG walking along the bar.

6:17pm - (video) GG walking the bar area; then walking around to the back (no footage).

6:20pm - GG reportedly headed to the back kitchen of the bar and told someone to call police. Three witnesses, two women and a man, told police that Giordano approached them on Aug. 2, saying, "Can you help me? We were snorkeling and my girlfriend is missing," she told police. One woman told police that while Giordano's sneakers were wet, his shorts were not. When Giordano reported Gardner missing, he seemed extremely drunk, a local fisherman, Sergio Silva, told ABC News, although Giordano told police that the two never purchased alcohol at the restaurant.

6.23pm - 911 received notification of a possible drowning of a woman. The traveling companion of this woman, a man G.V.G. stated that they were going snorkeling behind Nanki Country Club.

At 6:23 pm on the day of her disappearance, police were called, and 20 minutes later began to search the area. Then, Giordano left the search to return to his hotel and take a nap, according to police. Disclaimer: This claim, at 6.40 GG went for a nap, not true, there are various pics of GG helping the police in the dark, pics where it is completely dark, it takes till 7:30 for it to get dark, so GG was not taking a nap at 6:40, he still was working with the police at least at 7:30.

Thursday, August 4th - Robin’s mother arrives.

Thursday, August 4th – original date to fly back

Thursday, August 4th – throughout the day per RF – RG’s gmail chat function – turned green (active), orange (idle) and gray (signed off) on Wednesday and Thursday.

Thursday, August 4th - after Gardner went missing, Giordano called American Express Travel four times, asking about how he could redeem his policy. Police documents show that the American Express representative who took one of the calls said Giordano sounded excited, like he had "just won the lottery." The representative was so troubled by his behavior that the person called the police.

Friday, August 5th - Three days after the search for Gardner began, Giordano got within feet of leaving the country before he was stopped at Aruba's airport where he told U.S. Customs he had to change flights because of weather, and told officials that his travel companion was "taking another flight." He was trying to board a flight one hour earlier than his scheduled departure. When arrested, authorities say Giordano was drenched in sweat. Mug shot after being arrested trying to get on a plane off the island.

Wednesday, August 31st – GG detained in jail for another 60 days (until Oct. 30th).

Well with JB's last client they had to wait 31 days to search for decomposition and the dogs found it. He does not know much about dogs does he? jmo

Not as much as he thinks, again depending on training I hear decomp can be detected by cadaver dogs within two hours. It's not uncommon for someone to be killed and the body moved afterward. The scent still remains depending on the amount of time a decompsing person was there. A cadaver dog will alert to that location. I've heard anywhere from 10 mins to 2 hours before a well trained cadaver dog will alert.

Didn't I read he showed up on the beach with a lawyer while a search was going on?
I could be very wrong, but i was sure I read that
