It looks like quite a mixed crowd that attended the party

If the dive shop had cameras, then every place had cameras. I don't think cameras at a restaurant had anything to do with Robyn's decision to go to that restaurant and dive shop. If she didn't want to be at that dive shop, or in that part of the Island, she could have taken a cab back to the hotel. Since she remained with GG at that location, it seems reasonable to assume that she was there by choice.

She went to Aruba by choice, she went to the hotel by choice, based on the picture above she went to the party by choice ... how can we say she didn't go to the dive shop by choice?

Dive shop? I stated nothing about Robyn's decision to go to the restaurant, I was talking about Giordano.

I'd love to know about them visiting a dive shop though - it would explain where she may have purchased her gear - got info?

I never heard they went to the dive shop. Didn't GG say he had his own mask and fins? The video was from the restaurant and I don't think we saw anything from the dive shop so I don't know if they even have cameras.

A trip by cab from the airport to the hotel would run about $10. To that end of the island would probably run about $50 or more. She could have taken a taxi from the restaurant if she felt she was in danger but I'm sure she had no idea what was about to happen. She definitely was not dressed for the beach much less to go snorkeling. A bathing suit and coverup and maybe a pair of flat sandals to walk on the beach is what people wear. She looks as if she was ready to go to dinner, happy hour or run to the store. And she certainly would not risk ruining her dress on those jagged rocks if that is the only dress she brought with her. jmo

Does the fact that she wore the same dress the night of the party and the next day before disappearing seem a bit odd to anyone else?

They charge to check bags so I could see her bringing onboard a backpack and she may have worn the dress down. You can wash those dresses out at night and they would be dry by morning by just hanging it over a chair on your deck. So I don't see anything unusual about the same dress. She probably figured she'd never see those people again so why should she worry. They were only going to be there three full days. That is why going to Baby Beach the second day makes little sense when there is really nothing there. You've seen it once, once is enough. jmo

JADS is a dive shop and restaurant. Really early reports said that they walked through the dive shop.

Why do you think Robyn decided to go to that particular restaurant?

http://twitpic.com/68fdz8

"JADS has built a wonderful ocean side dive shop, bar and restaurant. Great value and great time."

GRACE: Also, it`s my understanding that they came in, they go toward the restaurant area of the dive center, they eat, and they leave without buying or renting scuba or snorkeling equipment. That`s the day she disappears. So if she`s having lunch, Ellie, at Jads Dive Center, at or around Jads Dive Center at lunchtime, how is she supposed to go change clothes, get into snorkeling gear, go snorkeling, drift out to sea, and get reported at 6:30 PM?

JOSTAD: Right. And they were adamant about that at the dive center that they did not get any equipment from them. They said they saw them, but they didn`t rent anything from them.

The tutor didn't have to sign anything ... I simply filled out the paperwork at the travel office and that was it.

Would "accident" in this case mean liability insurance? Say, you are driving a car with this person in it while on vacation, you wreck and the insurance pays medical bills, etc.,? Up to a certain amount?

I don't buy it - something like GG took out has to have the consent of the companion - so perhaps what you opted for was not the same.

BEM: Really?

So, if they didn't rent or buy equipment for Robyn to use, what the heck did she snorkel with, a bendy straw?

They ate at the Rum Runner restaurant which is in front of the dive shop. The dive shop may own both businesses, I don't know for sure. While this is the first I've heard they walked through the dive shop I could see GG doing so if he planned to snorkel. He obviously did not ask for directions on where it was safe to snorkel because they did not go to Rodger's Beach and I do remember early on the dive shop owner saying he did not understand they would go into the water at that point. Most of the divers go in from Rodger's Beach.

The restaurant would be the only place to eat in that area. The refinery is off by itself on the corner of the island and there is no other place to eat there from what I remember. So there would not have been much of a choice as to where to eat. The server said she barely touched her salad so it does not appear she was interested in eating unless she needed to use the restroom and they decided to order something while they were there? jmo

I don't think she would go partying, drink, go back to the room, wash her dress out and wear it again the next day. I also can't imagine someone like Robyn Gardner would carry only a backpack on the plane for a three day trip to Aruba. Her make-up and hair product alone would fill up a backpack. Maybe they never went back to the room. Why? No clue, maybe they went to a swingers club and then to someone's house. If true, they would not have gone to the room where the ambien were on the night table.

Am I the only one that's found this odd?

I think it was the Rum Reef restaurant at JADS dive shop.

I haven't seen any reports about Robyn Gardner going to a swingers club or a private home. Is there a link?

Your quote from Nancy Grace:

So, is there another link or source for GG buying/renting snorkeling equipment?

Me either, so I wouldn't know.

Here is the link stating that GG had his own snorkel equipment. It the same link that I posted upthread in post #686.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hi, Nancy. Thank you for taking my call. My question is, did the boyfriend have any snorkeling equipment, or -- wouldn`t there be evidence that he went snorkeling?

GRACE: Good question. To Martin Savidge, CNN correspondent, joining us live in Aruba. What do we know, Martin?

SAVIDGE: Well, authorities here say that he had his own personal snorkeling gear, and that -- they`ve confirmed he didn`t have to rent it on the island. Apparently, he travels with it, brings it with him. And that they know. They have not found any snorkeling gear related to Robyn Gardner.

Thanks. Good to know. So we can assume that Robyn did not go to a swingers club or a private home while in Aruba; that she did return to her hotel after the party.

I'm just trying to explain why she would be wearing the same dress. I only take one dress with me but rarely use it. Friends say this was her favorite dress so she may have had more than one with her. I can't say for sure, just guessing. I do know I go for 3 to 4 weeks and don't bring that much. Easy to wash out shorts and the rest goes in the washer. I envy people that can just bring carryons with them. Most of those people are not planning on staying for three weeks though and from the size of their bags I'm guessing they are only planning on staying a few days. jmo

And doesn't it look worse for him if he doesn't cash it in. lol

Maybe that's what LE and the FBI are waiting for. To see what GG does next.

Just seems weird. She looks very high maintenance, not the type that would wear the same thing twice - two days in a row. I have no idea whether she would or not, just an observation, and I keep thinking about the ambien on the table by the bed and if it was set up.

My theory:

Premeditation: GG feels if trip doesn't go as he would like it to, Aruba is the place to dispense of RG. Plus, he would be able to collect $.

RG enrages GG so he kills her. Yet, he had imbibed too much to be able to pull off an adequate cover-up (a "perfect crime").

Hopefully, they get him.

My sentiments exactly. JMO
