This is an older article, but I am posting it because we seem to be at that point where we are going back over everything again.
Interesting, it states GG was given permission to leave by the U.S. consulate, not the Aruba LE as he and his attorney have stated in interviews.
"He said that in the following days after Ms Gardner's disappearance, Giordano assisted with the search and answered questions from police and that his client was given permission to leave by an official at the U.S. consulate on the nearby island of Curacao before he was detained."
