Did you read that word??

I will post the links at the Fact rumor site when I get a moment

There is NO video tape

I couldn't find the link. Can you post it please?

FWIW Robyn was not wearing the same dress two days in a row.
(in reaction op various posts in the thread before this one)

The dress in the evening of July 31-August 1:

The dress on August 2:

The difference between the dresses is the first dress has bright blue in it, the second one has yellow it in. IMO

Dress number two in close up (earlier that year on July 4)

Yes, it is the same dress - it's also reported as the same dress in numerous news reports.

There are news reports that say there is a video. I don't imagine we are going to see the video since it's likely in evidence.

We know there is a video but LE said there was nothing that was alarming. They may have had words and rumor blew the content of what was on the tape out of proportion. I think if he had threatened to kill her they would not have released her. But, you never know. jmo

Here is a side by side of the two dresses:

ETA, I have blown up the pic of the securitycamera footage, and even though the colors are vague it does look like she is wearing the same dress there as the day before.

not being snarky, but that pic of GG is frightening! He is definitely not photogenic.

It might be the camera/lighting, but it does NOT look like the same dress to me. One has slightly different color variation. To me it looks like she liked the dress so much that she bought another one almost exactly like it. I wonder if LE has both dresses? He may have left the look-alike dress on the rocks instead of the one that she was wearing when he pushed hre off the cliff into the rocks below.

True the side by side is not the same dress (the pic on the right is from July 4).
I always assumed the dress on the pic on the right was the same dress as she was wearing in the footage of August 2, but that does not seem to be the case, she was wearing the same dress two days in a row.

So she did have two variations of this dress, but on the pictures and footage we have of August 2 and the previous day she is wearing the same dress (with the light blue in it).

It does seem LE has one dress in posession since in the re-enactment the woman playing Robyn seems to be wearing dress nr 2. IMO:

Isn't the one on the right from another time? Not from the Aruba trip?

I just found on radar.com, that the video from the restaurant shows her in the same dress at around 4:00 PM, the day before she disappeared, and again when they were leaving the restaurant the day she disappeared, at around 4:00 PM.

Her family recognized the dress as one of her favorites.

Vlpate, you mention Robyn was wearing flipflops in this video, I don't recall to have seen that video, and cannot find it, do you have the link to that video? TIA

Yes that is correct, it is also correct that she was not wearing that dress (from July 4) on any footage we have seen from her on Aruba.

<snip>

According to the video, the photos were taken at approx. 4 PM on August 2 by a tourist.

From video:

"The photos are not security camera pictures. The Rum Reef Beach Bar doesn't have any. Aruba's top prosecutor told News4 they were provided to his office by a tourist who was impressed with Robyn Gardner's distinctive shoulder tattoo."

http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/l...issing_Md__Woman_Washington_DC-128362363.html

The pictures had a time stamp in the upper left corner and the word "paused" on the upper right corner, so it appears to be a video still from a security camera (consumer video cameras don't put a time counter in the frame). Also, there is video of him banging on the windows afterwards trying to atttract attention.

So apparently there were security cameras there, and the report you linked is mistaken.

Still shot from video of the beach behind the dive shop where Gary claims they were snorkeling.

I guess the operative word in this report is "security" ... of course they have surveillance cameras, how else would they have GG on video knocking doors?

If you read my follow up posts you will see that I explained any thong type sandal is a fancy flip flop to me. She had on wedge sandals with thong type toes, from what I can see. Either way, she could not maneuver those sharp rocks in the sandals she was wearing....which was my point.

I have heard this stated several times and I don't understand why Aruba would benefit from another unsolved mystery

These things don't go away, they hang there

As was stated in the release statement, a judge decided there was no evidence strong enough to bring charges

Taco Stein also stated that they are continuing to look at any new evidence and should that evidence be found, they would file for extradition

Oh I don't know, they make their money on tourism? I know I don't want to go to Aruba because of all this carp - and I would definitely be alarmed if my young daughter wanted to go.

Taco Stein said GG is still the prime suspect.

  • #76
That is what some reporter(s) would have us believe, perhaps because it makes the claim appear completely absurd. No one would walk through sharp coral to go snorkelling when there are nearby areas where there is no sharp coral. If GG and Robyn were at the end of the dirt road, which is what was reported on NG, then they would not have been in that particular area but further towards the tip of the Island.

I agree.

Another thing is, the woman playing Robyn in the re-enactment is also just wearing simple flipflops while re enacting the version of events of Giordano:

You can walk on the beach type road in sandals as RG was and flip flops. The southern most part of Baby Beach is behind the peninsulia where they parked but in order to get into the water on the ocean side you have to go over rocks. IMO the woman had to remove her shoes because GG claims RG entered the water without any footwear. It is extremely hard to do and I bet she had a lot of trouble. I'd love to see that video.

If you google a map of Aruba you will see the cove, the peninsulia with the beach road and the rocks right before you see the water. The peninsulia is not all jagged rocks. The road has sand over smoothed out rocks, the rock GG was sitting on is between the beach from the cove and the road along the water's edge. There is maybe anywhere from 4 to 6 feet of jagged rocks getting into the water at that location. Further up behind the restaurant there is sand but further down where they were is very rocky. jmo

LOL. Oh, vlpate, it is perfectly safe. At least Aruba is. You just have to be careful who you pick to go with. His first vacation of choice was a cruise and we know how easy it is for someone to go overboard and never be found so Aruba should get a free pass on this one. If we never wanted to go to cities that have people missing and a victum of a crime we'd never be able to get out of bed (such as the poor woman who died in the elevator in NYC). That was awful. There are some really crazy people out there and this guy did it right in front of the camera and thought he could get away with it. Sound familiar. jmo

This is such a problem

finding links after all of this time has past

But I will find it

LE says no such video exists

Hey Dushi'

You are absolutely right--NO Such Vid!!

You and I were discussing this on 9-09-11 on Post #738 There is also the article you referenced in that post .

Ann Angela a spokesperson said they had viewed the Lobby security tapes and there "was nothing there"
The NE had printed video pictures of the supposed argument, but it was stated it was a "re-enactment"

Maybe MaryAnn can check this post out.

From what I recall Giordano stated he had put the car there so it could be in the shade, not to go into the sea at that spot.

When looking at the video of the re-enactment I also do not see rocks, they go into the water (where Giordano claimed they went in) and there are no rocks it is all green with plants etc.

Maybe if we could see footage of that area it is easy to pinpoint at which exact spot they went into the sea at the re enactment, just by comparing it does not look like the spot pointed out at the ABC video:
