It was never established that this was a good place to snorkel. In fact Mr. Silva said it was not a good place to go into the water (video link provided earlier). Another video shows no fish just a lot of rocks jutting up from the sandy bottom. There is nothing in the video that would attract fish, no reef or vegetation. The only thing we can see are small one inch clear colored fish. The dive shop manager claims divers enter the water from the Rodger's Beach side where there is vegetation and recommended snorkeling is in the channel that runs along the easterly side of Baby Beach. The channel is the only recommended area for snorkelers to swim and I believe there is a sign on the Baby Beach side warning snorkelers to use the channel. So it has never been established that there is good snorkeling in that exact location but if you have a link it would be interesting to check it out. Thanks jmo

LolliPop is referring to a post of mine where I paraphrased what others had said about rockier areas generally providing better snorkeling than flat, sandy bottoms. I didn't claim to have personal knowledge and I wasn't asserting anything about any one, particular spot.

But I may have misled LolliPop in the process.

Nobody witnessed them going INTO the ocean that afternoon. I think that IF RG had to learn to snorkel, and was walking out into the water, and then getting help from GG in putting on her mask etc, then someone would have noticed. There were people who noticed them walking along the beach, and leaving the beach however. So imo, they never went into the water there at all.

BBM and thank you!

Frankly, I'm still not sure where GG claims they went into the water, except that I think it was on the rocky, ocean side of the peninsula, rather than the sandy, Baby Beach/cove side.

But it matters because there were no witnesses except for GG, who may have reason to lie. If his story of where and why they went snorkeling is unlikely, that is significant evidence that he may not be telling the truth.

As near as I can tell, nobody who actually swims, fishes or snorkels in the area thinks GG's story is likely.

Do the doctor's prescribe the dosage by your weight? I would think if you weighed 100 compared to someone who weighed 200 it might make a difference in how you react. jmo

Not that I'm aware of, but maybe - they prescribe them in either extended release (CR), are immediate... I've taken both, but my insurance will only pay for 12 - 12mg immediate and I take half when I need to (I weigh 128 lbs), so 6 mg work fine and have for a few years. I've never needed to increase the dosage. I don't know what strengths they come in besides 12mg.

Thanks Otto I appreciate it.

What I am looking for is, what exactly the front and the back of the RumReef restaurant is.
Is the area where the cars are parked (and where we have seen Robyn and GG walking to and from the car) the back of the restaurant? TIA

I would imagine the sign is in the front... looks like the place where they made their exit there in the front as well....

What, if you don't mind me asking, is the relevance?

  • #725
Frankly I do not see the problem, you could just say the back is where the parking is. That would take less time then typing all the above.

Take less time? Respectfully, you have posed the same question at least six times and it's been answered over and over when a simple email or phone call to the restaurant would have cleared it up since on one here has answered to your satisfaction. One of your people at the hotel could probably tell you even.

This is another issue that makes no sense to me about her taking a sleeping pill in the middle of the day when you plan to go snorkeling. At the point she supposedly took the pill she was awake and fully conscious of what she was doing, aware that they planned to go back to Baby Beach to snorkel. Or was she? I understand the sleep issue and how hard it is for some people to fall asleep because my husband had problems sleeping, (I could fall asleep on a log) but I can't see someone on vacation in Aruba taking medication to sleep in the middle of the day. You would want to be out and about to fully enjoy your vacation experience. So to me that is a big inconsistency, when added in with the others, puts up a big red flag. And if they work as it is described I don't think she took one earlier that day but she may have had one in her drink at the restaurant because she seems fine walking into the bar.

Another inconsistency is he claimed it was in her bag but they found her bottle in their room on the nightstand. So did he put the pills in her bag and she removed them and put them back on the nightstand before leaving the hotel room that day? Did he want them to find the pills in her bag so LE would think she had just taken one? I can't imagine why she would even consider putting the pills in her bag to carry around with her during the day when there could be a chance you could lose them. You would think she would want to keep them in her room available to take before going to bed.

Makes one wonder about those intimate pictures and was she really aware that he had taken them. Since he has a history of taking pictures without the person's knowledge it could be interesting to see what turns up on his camera. How many woman do not know he has pictures of them???? jmo

I have been reading here for several weeks, but haven't read clear through from thread #1, so this probably was already discussed as a possibility?

I keep thinking when GG is shown bringing in a drink from his car on the video, did he bring this in for RG with a crushed AMBIEN in it, and then she drank it unknowingly? In case her body quickly was washed to shore or found, and there was AMBIEN in a toxicology study and report, to explain a recent dose of AMBIEN, to explain a higher concentration of AMBIEN than, say, if she had taken it the evening before, half-life info of the drug, etc., how long the actual drug stays in the body, etc. That he mentioned she took an AMBIEN in the afternoon, which I agree would be ridiculous if she planned on going snorkeling, he said this to cover if that drug was found in her body, in case she was found early on, which would indicate she took an AMBIEN several hours before her death. That he put a crushed AMBIEN in a drink he was bringing in from the car????

Right, exactly what I'm thinking. I mean it really makes no sense for her to even have taken it in the first place at that time of the day.

He leaves and goes to the car to get another drink, who does that. Who brings their own drinks to a bar??? Then he makes a point of telling LE she had taken something before leaving for Baby Beach. That old hinky meter is going, bong, bong, bong. Plus, we have to look at his past history. He is accused of photographing women in intimate situations without their knowledge. These women have not explained how that happened but is it possible drugging may have been involved here too and this is why they were not aware he was taking pictures of them?

His actions clearly paint a picture of someone who could do something like this. Not saying he did, but he is a more likely candidate considering his past history with women. jmo

I think it's very possible that GG was more interested in Robyn than she in him and when she agreed to go to Aruba w/ him maybe it got his hopes up. Not hard to imagine , he's older guy w/ a toupee, she's young and beautiful.
But then he saw her texts to RF and maybe he felt like a total fool, and like he was being used.

Just a partial theory, maybe he decided to put the Ambien in her drink after he saw the texts.

Did he go out to the car before or after Robyn went to the restroom without her purse ? Have to find that video again.

IMO, the high five statement was a sarcastic remark on his part and I would probably have said the same.

BBM: I think when you are doing an interview where you have been named as a primary suspect in the disappearance of your travel companion and you are also being investigated by the FBI that the last, the very last thing you want to project to people is sarcasm. It gives people the impression that you are arrogant and that you view a very serious matter as something trival. jmo

I don't think anyone is saying he is guilty, not for us to say and at this point it would only be a personal opinion.
We are discussing GG as prime suspect which is what Aruba has publicly announced. They are not giving up their investigation, so there is no reason to believe he has been cleared by either the US authorities or Aruba. Until such time there is nothing wrong with discussing all the possibilities involved in this case. Trying to keep an open mind but still looking at any holes and discrepancies we see in his statements. Dr. G said so herself the other day on GMA....we look at the last person who was seen with the victum.

GG has not been cleared as a suspect regardless of how anyone may feel about whether or not he was responsible for RG's death. He does not have a stellar record. In fact he is described by most as a scam artist, abuser, forger, thief and....not criminal, but a very bad neighbor. lol He has misrepresented himself as someone he is not, aka producer who wanted to take an 18 year old to Aruba to take professional pictures of her. Right!!! He's just not a very nice person so it's not a leap of faith to believe he would be capable of doing something to RG to cause her death. Maybe they argued and she scratched him and he hit her and killed her. We don't know what happened only what has been reported.

Eventually if we keep sifting though the reports we will get it right. Talking about issues that concern us can very often bring the truth out into the open. We don't need to be sensored unless it is for someone who is an innocent party. Right now there is no other suspect because GG admits he was with RG when she went missing but his version does not match what LE claims are the facts. jmo.

It must be me :waitasec::sigh:

I think there is a misconception about whether we all think RG is guilty because we are looking at the inconsistencies in his statements. I don't think any of us are ready to put a "brand" on RG yet because we still are trying to figure out what truth has been reported by the media and what has been miscommunicated. We don't believe his story based on what we know are actual facts. Aruban authorities still consider him their prime suspect even though they have held off charging him. But as of today they still have not cleared him and he remains their primary suspect. It is a little premature to make any judgment at this time about his innocence or guilt. What we are all trying to do is go over everything and weed out the information we know is not correct. Privately I'm sure many have opinions but we are not in a court of law. We are permitted to think for ourselves and make a judgment based on what we know, what we see and/or what we feel. We do this everyday when we meet new people. We form a judgment about whether or not we want to be their friend, whether we like them, or whether we just need to let this person pass through our life without a second thought. It's human nature to do that.

GG is on public record as being a thief, forger, abuser, a dead beat dad and just an all around nasty person. He's arrogant and self-serving in his appearance and according to reports has made death threats against women. Not a nice guy you would want your daughter to hang out with.

We are discussing what we have learned from his interviews, what we have been able to confirm through the media reports, plus interviews we have seen with witnesses and T. Stein. This is all we have to rely on. Some information we have found is not accurate. So this is good, this is progress. To be closed minded and look at our TV screen, see something that is reported on NG and assume it is the gospel is wrong. It produces a society that accepts whatever they hear at face value. That is not our function here. We are all trying to get to the truth and frankly if it's not going in the direction that is favorable to GG then so be it. It's not up to us to make excuses for his behavior.

WS is sleuthing thread. RG is a victum and we are trying to figure out what happened to her. Only GG knows what really happened. Is he innocent or guilty?? Who knows but if we all work trying to get to the truth we may just find out for sure. jmo

LOL. Some want a CSI moment before they make their final decision. I don't think it is looking for good for him. He has talked his way out of jams before by intimidation. Maybe his luck has run out this time. We will see. jmo

It does not help a victim if the police and/or media, create a scenario that solicits public opinion to have a blinkered approach and find a person guilty when there is no evidence to support this verdict.

I am not reaching a verdict. It is not a legal opinion. If I were on the jury I could not convict him on what I know so far.
However, in the realm of common sense, looking at everything I know about his past actions, and his hinky version of events, I believe he was responsible for her being missing.
