Ashley Madison cheating website hacked, July 2015

When Anna Nicole Smith died, I asked a really cute guy why some guys think that younger women are in love with them.

He said it had nothing to do with that. It is to show what the guy is capable of getting. Like buying a Maserati .

I am looking through my lens because I would never want a fake relationship. As a young woman I looked pretty good and I hated that some guy was only interested in me as a vessel to use sexually. I always have felt I was far more than that. I even told one guy to simoly purchase a rubber blow up doll. It was not flattering to me in the least.

So when I read about these hook ups, it is from my lens that people are more than some jack off opportunity.

From my opinion... if you have to resort to a dating site when you are married to someone else, it seems like you maybe need to call it quits on your marriage. Since it would appear that certain arrangement is no longer working out.
But I realize there are many different scenarios people are living in.
Maybe there's a case where someone is trapped by an abusive spouse (verbal and emotional are just as damaging as physical, imo.), and needs an escape ?
I don't know.

Suicide is not the way out, imo. Just feel badly for the families left behind.

The site is no different than Tinder or Grinder except it caters to married folk. Some find those equally repulsive and again, not everyone is looking to "hook up" for sex. Some are just looking for kicks.

Pure America: Meet the Only Three Zip Codes Without Any Ashley Madison Users

Earlier this week, 37 million profiles registered with adultery website AshleyMadison.com were made public. The hack, if nothing else, proved one thing: Everywhere you look, there are aspiring adulterers willing to pay a monthly fee for the option of cheating on their spouse. Everywhere you look, unless, of course, you live in one of the three zip codes in America that have zero Ashley Madison users.

Spoiler alert:
1. Nikolai, AK: 99691
2. Perryville, AK: 99648
3. Polvadera, NM: 87828

Still an interesting read though.

eta: I actually expected Colorado City, Arizona, to be on the list.

Just curious here --- if a person is married and they contact this site and pursue a relationship (or not--only resorting to phone conversations or whatever) ; and the other half finds out (and was previously unaware) and decides to divorce -- does this count as evidence against the spouse who was on this dating site ?

Does the spouse who was not involved with a dating site --get a bigger deal if there's a divorce ?
Not sure how those laws work from state to state.
I wasn't looking for any links to the laws, just wondered if anyone knew in general. Mainly because these suicides are confusing -- why not just deal with it ? And stay alive !
Maybe the deaths were like the last act for people who were dealing with other struggles ? Or because they feared they would lose everything ? Like, literally everything ?
It's always sad when someone decides to end their life.

Do we know yet if the suicide victims were AM customers or the spouses of AM customers?

If spouses I can understand it being the final betrayal, the last thing, the reason behind someone giving up all hope. If someone were already depressed he or she would be vulnerable, and being married to someone who is depressed can be a struggle. I'm not suggesting it's an excuse to have an affair, but I'm sure spouses who are depressed get cheated on as often as spouses who are not.

I'm not sure on all of this as some states do not have faults for marriages, just that you have irreconcilable differences is enough and no reason to have to dig dirt on anyone . Maybe someone else can ring in on this. Also these suicides could be from people afraid they were going to lose their jobs?

I just read one of the suicide victims was a 25year veteran with the San Antonio Police Department. http://www.foxsanantonio.com/news/f...arent-selfinflicted-gunshot-wound-15298.shtml

Not sure if he's one of the two or if he makes three (and an actual connection to the hack hasn't been established afaik), but wow. I don't know.

I can completely understand a spouse's p.o.v. and suicide attempt after the story broke, but one of the customers leaves me so confused. Did he kill himself out of shame, or fear he was going to lose his job, or never be forgiven, or... ?

I expect we will probably see more suicides from the "customers" in the coming days/weeks.

They are ashamed/embarrassed and humiliated after being exposed as a cheater, swinger, etc. As we saw in JA's profile, there are places to state your sexual preferences, fetishes, what you're looking for, etc..

Some people just won't be able to handle being exposed this way and will end their lives in order to not face the consequences from their families/jobs..and they can't take the public scrutiny.

Nobody's life should end this way. :(

Suicides may be about loss of respect and possibly a career, depending upon profession. Maybe not just a job, as it were, but with the police officer who allegedly killed himself over this mess, something like that could have messed up his entire career, maybe even his pension if he used a work computer, for instance. Or if a person presents a highly moral and ehtical front while carrying on in this way. It could just be too overwhelming to face the aftermath.

As far as JA goes, I doubt his co-workers knew anything. This sort of habit/addiction/hobby is not something to brag about and not likely to get "caught" as one might dining in an out-of-the way spot, etc...maybe he never did meet up with anyone in person but an online "affair" is often equally damaging to a spouse. A good friend of mine ended a long-term relationship over a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 addiction. He never met anyone, but to her it was a form of " cheating" not to mention disrespectful as she was in the same room sometimes.

Sucks how some of these men deny, deny deny until enough evidence comes out and then they offer the canned apology. Jmo

JA had the high profile red head. I do think people knew. Unless they were going to follow JA and the red head with a canera, I imagine it was just talking between people who knew.

Personally I think the "high profile red head" being exposed was one reason JA tried to get ahead of the whole story and put his spin on it.

Has anyone posted about the US class action suit yet? As much as I dislike the site, I think the users have a case:

"The lawsuits were filed between last month and Monday by Ashley Madison users in California, Texas, Missouri, Georgia, Tennessee and Minnesota. They all seek class-action status to represent the estimated 37 million registered users of Ashley Madison.
The lawsuits, which seek unspecified damages, claim negligence, breach of contract and privacy violations. They say Ashley Madison failed to take reasonable steps to protect the security of its users, including those who paid a special fee to have their information deleted."

Yes, I think they have a suit. So they can divide the proceeds between the lawyers and 37 million users.

I have been in class action suits. I believe the most I received was 30 cents.

And they paid for the services, ehm...exposure.

I guess I missed that part, who was the high profile red head? TIA

I think that's what shocked me the most, that someone like JA, an intelligent, educated, and experienced professional went to the extent he did in exposing himself with that kind of highly sensitive and personal information on some kinky internet website. I mean, OMG, that seems so naive to me. :what:

Not true. I looked at the Alabama and Mississippi lists. There are no users from these zip codes, either:

Samantha, AL 35482
Carrollton, AL 35447
Holly Pond, AL 35083
Buhl, AL 35446
Coker, AL 35452
Coaling, AL 35453
Elrod, AL 35458
York, AL 36925
McShan, AL 35461
Kellerman, AL 35444
Ralph, AL 35480
Peterson, AL 35453
Arley, AL 35541
Bankston, AL 35542
Eldridge, AL 35549
Glen Allen, AL 35594
Natural Bridge, AL 35575
Millport, AL 35576
Nauvoo, AL 35578
Sulligent, AL 35586
Pigsah, AL 35765
Hope Hull, AL 36043
Fruitdale, AL 36539
Loxley, AL 36551
Vinegar Bend, AL 36584

Ok... I'll stop, but there's plenty of others, but I got tired of searching. I have the lists saved in Word, so I was able to search for these cities and am sure that there are no users with these zip codes. One of them is my zip code, so you KNOW I was searching for that one. My husband owns a company and has employees in several of these towns/cities across Northwest Alabama, and we certainly checked them out. Some of these areas might not have available internet access...haha.... hence therefore no users. :biglaugh: :hilarious:

I'm sure I can find the same in MS.
