She was visiting her older married sister's home in Magura when it happened, and the girl died after having spent six days in a critical condition in a hospital in Dhaka. The older sister's husband, his parents, and a brother was arrested after the rape, and when the news of the child's death came, an angry mob burned the house where the crime had happened.
