Auburn police have arrested a man suspected of attempting to abduct a barista through a drive-through window early Monday morning.

Police announced the arrest on Twitter at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The man was arrested at his Auburn home, where investigators were able to do a quick search of his pickup and found evidence linking him to the scene, according to Auburn Police Department spokesperson Kolby Crossley.

This attempt boggles my mind. Did he think there wouldn’t be cameras? Did he think no one would notice? Did he not think at all? Has this MO worked anywhere else? There seems to be a lot of people missing after work or on way to work but to try to abduct someone while at work???

I immediately thought of Samantha Koenig (kidnapped through drive thru window at a coffee stand).

edit: add link and spelling

I missed that one, so there is a “precedent” for this kind of thing…wow. Glad this one was unsuccessful and he was arrested quickly.
