So they plan on dating the blood and DNA to see if was planted. How does that work?

You have to read the Motion for Post Conviction, it is explained in there.

Just went back to edit my post...LOL I know nothing about guns...LOL

Hubby found this website to answer my question to him...he says I need a new hobby...LOL

http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-291094.html

I did some googling while I was typing up my last post. I found some interesting studies on the "Deep Blue at the University of Michigan" site.

The study was done on femur bones (the strongest bones in the human body) with steel balls of .25 an inch diameter.

I was amazed. The bone was shattered and "completely separated the distal end from the shaft" at only 51.1 ft-lbs! The photograph makes me queezy just looking at it.

It also took less then 10 ft-lbs to put neat little round holes all the way through the bone. Anything less had a chance of getting stuck in the bone. But 10 ft-lbs is nothing.

The density of the bone had almost no effect either. They tested osteoporotic bones as well as normal ones.

This proves that a 22lr from any barrel has more then enough strength to pass through a femur and would not have any trouble passing through the weaker skull.

It seems that many people in this forum highly underestimate the power of their firearms.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

With the state of degradation of the bone matter found how could they even tell it was gunshot/s from that bone matter?

You have to read the Motion for Post Conviction, it is explained in there.

Is that a different motion than this one? I forgot about the radiocarbon testing in this motion until I read the People article. I didn't know that radiocarbon testing is able to give as fine of a year range as needed in this case.

Oh-no!
I can just picture you with various devices all over your house, each open to a different MAM thread...

*feeds the family while simultaneously looking up a new clue* Lol

'Making a Murderer': New Filing Details How Steven Avery Was Framed

In the motion, Zellner lays out her theory for how Avery was framed, with perhaps the biggest bombshell being a Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department report which documents Colborn discovering Halbach’s car on November 3rd, 2005 – two days before it was officially found in Avery’s Salvage Yard on November 5th. Zellner's motion contends that the car was moved on the evening of November 4th after law enforcement officers planted evidence inside the car.

"Ms. Halbach’s vehicle was moved from the Fred Radandt Sons, Inc. quarry to the Avery property using the conveyor road that led onto the Avery property from the quarry," the motion states. "Mr. Avery contends that the blood evidence was planted in Ms. Halbach’s car, by law enforcement, prior to the discovery of the vehicle on the Avery property on November 5, 2005."
"If the unidentified fingerprints on the victim’s vehicle match either Officer [Andrew] Colborn or Officer [James] Lenk, it would be significant evidence of their involvement in moving the victim’s vehicle onto the Avery property," Zellner told Newsweek.

Lawyer for 'Making a Murderer' Subject Steven Avery Accuses Investigators of Framing Him, Demands Evidence

The 45-page motion reveals other inconsistencies and falsehoods Zellner claims to have uncovered. The motion states that two “non-law enforcement people” who entered the Avery property when it was closed to the public after the murder both lied when interviewed by police. The first person is identified as “Individual A” and appears to be Joshua Radandt, who told police he saw a fire on the Avery property as he drove through his family’s quarry to his deer camp the afternoon of October 31.

Zellner says in her motion that Individual A accessed the Avery property four times for unknown reasons after it was closed to the public and that “it was impossible for Individual A to observe Mr. Avery’s backyard as he described because of the elevation of the quarry from where he was allegedly making his observations.” The motion also calls out an “Individual B,” apparently Halbach ex-boyfriend Ryan Hillegas, who the motion says lied to police that the blinker light on Halbach’s Toyota RAV4 had been broken for months.

I'm trying to figure out why Teresa's ex would lie about the broken turn signal lamp.

If he was complicit in her murder and the broken light had something to do with it, why not say that he didn't know anything about it. Why lie?

What about where Ms. Zellner mentioned that if Avery had a bleeding cut on his hand it was unheard of by scientists that his blood and TH's blood would not be found together in the back of the vehicle where he supposedly placed her. Only TH's blood in back of vehicle.

Honestly.... even to me, someone who thinks that it was planted, she seems extremely confident, and makes me think someone has talked, she just needs the confirmation.

Trying to catch up.... portions of her skull were recovered, those showed 2 gunshot wounds. Eisenberg testified, and then they did have another expert testify (something to do with the metal that showed up on the xrays of the bones).

As for the testing she plans on doing, she does give an overview in the motion about the various "new" ways to test the evidence.

If chemicals are found during testing, I guess it would depend on the chemicals? A household chemical? A chemical normally found in a lab? I would have to go back to read the motion to see if she is more specific.

BCA ~ what you have posted about the shot from the .22 is pretty much what my hubby told me months ago... and I did some research too... just a suggestion now that you have been researching for this case (and others).... get a good friend to destroy your computer harddrive if anything ever happens to hubby :D

Jaiddie ~ omg yes.. THEM DANG BONES!!!! Looks like she wants to do DNA testing on that pelvic bone, which I think she said during her questioning, was in 3 different places ;-)

I'd like to know how reliable the radiocarbon testing is down to a single year. Or is it more like a 10 span that reaches a very reliable factor? That may be enough for this case.

This one I really can't figure out... especially if he had nothing to do with her murder. But I guess, maybe she is implying he helped move the RAV4? But why would he help LE... or anyone else for that matter? Really makes me wonder if he is the one talking. Maybe he didn't lie, maybe LE reported it like that so no one would investigate the damage?

Right, and this is something I don't really recall discussing. The mixing of the blood. She said she has never heard of a case where blood of the victim and blood of the perp are found so closely together, yet not mixed. Interesting.
