Bohemian, for your timeline.

In relation to Karlie's mobile phone, those involved in her murder retained her phone and it was used until mid 2011.

The last payments through Centrelink were in 2011.

Karlie's bank account was finally closed in 2015 after a lengthy period of inactivity.

Thanks, Makara. That last one had me confused for a moment because DJH was pulled over with the expired KPS card in 2013. Then I realised that account was still active even if card wasn't. Must need more sleep.

Yes, that is what I understand to be the case.
But is the fraud just fraud, or is it a cover-up of the murder?
If the fraud is to help cover up the murder then the fraudsters are accessories.

Or even the motive for murder?
We don't know what happened. We don't know if DH and KP had a fight or argument and he lost it. Or if KP had become a liability to him, a group of people or somebody else and had to go. We just don't know.

Having the bank card of KP in his wallet years later, can be either very stupid. Or there could be a reason for it. It could be a trophy, but it could also be 'business'. After all there was a company in Karlie's name with ties to her bank account.'

I agree with you Jane. There are lots of moments that make you think DH really wasn't the shapest tool in the shed (maybe cause of drugs?). And there are moments like pulling off identity fraud successfully for years, using different names, having an ABN etc.

Same goes for women. When you look at his 16 year old fiancee reffering to DH as 'my boy' and 'Good boy', that seems very strange to me. Like he is a submissive kind of guy. But when you read more, he seems to have two sides.

Like he keeps going back and forth between messing up his life and being dominated by very young women that could be his daughter. To being manipulating, controlling and deceiving.

I am so curious as to who this 'someone ' is... probably the 16 yr old ex - fiancée ... This is an old report, but it has niggled at me for ages.. that someone saw him take these suitcases, and knew where he was taking them ( to his sisters ) and suspected that Khandalyces birth certificate was in one of those suitcases..

And told the police.

Now.. he has kept this stuff for eight years.. thru many changes of abode, I suppose, .... why? why?? what possible purpose could that serve? . keeping Karlie's keycard is one thing, but this is a whole other thing..

What would be even more interesting is where he took the 2 suitcases from. Was it from a place in Canberra they (KP & DH) were staying, prior to Karlie being murdered?

If so, did nobody ask questions as to where KP had gone?
Did anyone besides DH knew what had happened, etc.

I wonder if the tip off came from Hazel Passmore, they may have both lived there for a while.........? That would fit with the statement 'Mr Holdom took 2 suitcases". The statement sounds like the suitcases were taken from the house of where the person giving the tip off lived. Also how would the tipper know who the contents belonged to. To someone else it would be more logical to assume they belonged to HP's children. Unless they rummaged through them I guess.......

There are a couple of things that stand out to me from this article. Firstly, they don't state that the suitcases were taken to the sister's and there's no mention of them finding suitcases at the sister's house, only the birth certificate. So we can't presume the suitcases were at the sister's house (they may well have been, but we don't know this as fact). The other point is that someone tipped off the police regarding the possible involvement of the sister, either knowingly, or unknowingly (i.e. Khandalyce's birth certificate was found at her house). As far as keeping the stuff for 8 years, we don't know what else (if anything) they found at the sister's house. There is the possibility though, that being a family member, he has left some items with her all these years, rather than taking it with him wherever he went. It is also interesting that the sister didn't make the tip off - it was made by someone else.

As an aside, I keep heaps of boxes of my brothers at my property, because he lives in a tiny flat in the city and hasn't got room for it. I wouldn't have a clue what he's got in some of the boxes and I would never have any reason to go through his things to know what he's got in the boxes.

Correction: I've just read another link someone put up that states:

I think that by the point in time that this lead had developed date of death was public knowledge.

My interpretation re the two suitcases 'taken' is that DH took 2 cases belonging to Karlie from where ever he and Karlie had been staying (possibly caravan park), to his sister's home. At some later time, he removed the 2 suitcases from his sister's home. It is my summation that he just did not know what to do with Karlie's possessions after her death, and storing of, rather than disposing of them was expedient for him. Distanced himself from Karlie and her dreadful murder.
