I am with you Wexford .. There are so many variables - what a job for the Pol to unravels !
However, IMO perhaps the original Crime stopper calls that led to the identification of both Khandalyce & Karlie, and now bring in the info of Drugs, ex-friend character profile etc - maybe by the same person.

its sh$& to love someone and have them do the dirty. This was the business we developed together. This was our future. I worked this out for you. I put my life on the line for you. But you repaid how? Not cared enough to drive safely and therefore endanger my kids; f&@'ed my life; not cared enough to the point you have a fling with my friend; you take off with my friend; and all our $$ future.

And suddenly the dots align ... and guess what, you don't play me baby!

Why the silence from the Pol and no more charges despite interviews and supposed alignment?

There is is much to tell, much to document, they need to get this right.

IMO only...

How do you know he is a he? And how do you know he is a junkie?

It was Connies carer. The police have time to get this right. They are in no hurry. They have a big case on their hands.

the $25,000 taken or stolen from her... this is still in the realm of unsupported junkie ramblings from one junkie.. not even a conglomerate.. one lone junkie is telling this story, apparently... one lone junkie with a dream of $25,000

And once the word got around about the $5k bounty... again.. the same source as the $25,000 unsupported, uncorroborated and very very late in the scheme of things... .. who says the word got round?? who says there was a bounty?? let us keep in mind the source of things.. let us not go off into the world of delusion.

As for why the carer didn't alert the police at the time,... notifying the police of an entirely imaginary tale under those circumstances would have been absurd.. doing it now makes perfect sense, if you are a rambling junkie..

As for the bit where no impersonator calls Colleen, or others of the family, this is stepping into what I am prepared to call victimising the victims all over again.. to make such an imputation is really way out of line and honestly, it just has no part in a forum such as this..

Family members and relatives are classed as 'carers' if their duties are declared and they are being paid for them by Centrelink..... Just sayin!

Thank you so so much Sleep .....this is further confirmation...

I am thinking of another article.... though...I think....and it was one where the Carer of Nana mentioned that date as being the one that Nana looked at Karlie's mail and noticed she hadn't touched her centrelink payments in two weeks.....that would make it prior!!...before September the 4th???? So what was going on prior to the 4th of September 2008.....we don't know..do we...

Not sure if it's important..... just curious ...that's all.

IIRK Karlie didn't leave NT much prior to September 2008 - she was in Alice Springs on 27th July for the Car show and likely moved sometime after that.

For her to not use her accounts for 4 weeks prior to G'ma reading her statements it would be around the same time.

BBM - Because he was also charged.

It also emerged that in 2010, Ms Pearce-Stevenson’s late grandmother Connie Duffy had been charged with possession of a commercial quantity of cannabis.
The informant - who had moved in with Ms Duffy to look after her - was also charged.

Just a really quick question please Trooper, because I struggle with time to keep up, but have I missed do something that absolutely identifies the 'story teller' is a 'HE'

I missed your question, W, but due to the diligence and perseverance of SoSoCurius and SleepinOz, I see your question, and others asked of me, were answered promptly and accurately.. how lucky am I to have their assistance..ladies, thankyou.

and might I add, Warshawski.. that the real Victoria Iphigenia Warshawski wouldn't worry about asking a question, quick or slow.. one of my fave women characters in modern novels.

Warshawski, the gender of the 'story teller' is mentioned in the article at the link below and there are numerous other articles available online where his gender is confirmed.

A person with close ties to Ms Pearce-Stevenson’s family told police that before the 20-year-old was murdered, she had been planning to do a drug run between South Australia and the Northern Territory, The Advertiser reported.
He said Ms Pearce-Stevenson left Alice Springs with her daughter Khandalyce in 2008 with money she was allegedly going to use to buy drugs that she would smuggle from Adelaide to Darwin.

BBM.

money? covering his own butt??

What if the informant/carer was actually a friend of HPs and happened to come from the same hometown as her? That could be a reason to keep quiet about a lot of things wouldn't it? Just my opinion.

I didn't know that it depends on how many articles you read, thanks. I think I only tried to open the ones posted that were paywalled then I copy and pasted the article title and went through various links that popped up with no luck until the one I posted.

That's okay. I hate paywalled articles :(

Tried the whole clearing cookies thing. Doesn't work for me either.

With a passion, Freddo; especially when it's a brutal crime against a mother and daughter; smacks of exploitation to me.

It is for me. It depends how many articles from that publication you've opened in a certain period - unless you clear your cookies.

Cleared cookies, cache, etc. Still no go but thanks for your reply, Theodora.

Or someone who now doesn't want to be associated with someone who's been charged with murder.

Or cognitive dissonance.

  • #557
True. As you say, it is a matter of individual opinion.
However, there is also the interesting fact that nobody (family or police) has publicly denied the carer's story - well, so far anyway.

As for how she may have had a $25k debt, nobody knows, but there is no indication that it was due to her personal use.
I'd agree, the idea that she ran up a personal drug debt so big is very doubtful indeed.

The inconsistencies between what SAPOL confirm/repudiate in MSM (such as the alleged serial killer) or let slide such as (alleged drug running/debt/bounty) really bug me. They confuse us all.

And some women are easily fooled into believing that the man is easily dominated. It's the manipulator manipulating the easily manipulated.

Amen sister!

Will you marry me. Here is an engagement ring. Bleeds all the money out of them and takes off. Seen that a few times before.

I really hate how this drug debt story has cast aspersions on Karlie's character and the family has to just grin and bear it.

Even if it is true, Crime Stoppers is were it should have stayed.

We can only hope it has flushed some rats out of the shadows and will serve some purpose in the end.

It keeps reminding me of when Baden Clays family/defence tried to paint ABC as suicidal.
