Have you seen a little girl wearing this distinctive jacket?

Det. Insp. Hutchins said detectives have now identified two of the remaining five clothing labels on items in the suitcase that were highlighted in the Sunday Mail a fortnight ago. They are the Miss X and Sally brands. Investigations were underway to identify their origins and at which shops they were sold at in an effort to identify their purchasers.

Forensic Science SA acting director Andrew Camilleri yesterday said negotiations were also underway with interstate laboratories to assist in providing the latest DNA technology to provide additional information.

“If necessary international laboratories offering new DNA technologies will be contacted to provide assistance in generating the DNA profile,’’ he said.

He said while forensic biologists were concentrating on the DNA recovery, staff within FSSA’s Evidence Recovery group continued examinations into the suitcase and its contents to recover additional clues.

“These examinations have provided other useful evidentiary information, including fibres, which are being examined by one of FSSA’s fibre experts…’’ Mr Camilleri said.

thankyou, i just cant read these websleuths pages on my pc anymore, just get the notice about a shiny new upgrade! frustrating!
Hi, bearbear. A few members are experiencing problems since the migration. As Crabstick suggested, in some cases it seems to be a DNS issue.

Log out, and clear cache and cookies from your browser.

Close your browser and restart your computer.

Log in again.

Hopefully, that will clear up the problem immediately. Should you still experience difficulty, please send an email to [email protected], and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Cheers.

ETA: Sorry, I didn't read this properly the first time around.

thankyou, i just changed to another browser but still no joy, and i tried the ideas on ws facebook, hoping its a ws problem and fixed by tomorrow!

If you continue to experience problems tomorrow, please send an email to the address above. In the meantime, believe me -- I understand your frustration. Try to view it as all of us WS'ers hiking over a hill at the same time in single file. It's a slow process, but eventually we'll make our way to the wide open clearing on the other side. So please hang in there. :thumb:

I am finally back in and have just caught up :) I kept getting the server upgrade message too bearbear, went to ws fb page and did what was suggested (dns Flush thing on my desktop), and still got the upgrade message. Ended up emailing ws, who got back to me straight away, they said:
"What our tech guy has told us is each time you try and log in to Websleuths flush you DNS first then log in. This will eventually change the Domain Name Server to the correct one that is pointing to our new server."
I did the dns flush thing again, cleared cookies and cache, restarted computer and it worked, but every now and again when I go to go to the next page I get the update message again so I just refresh it that fixes it. hth

And catwhiskers I remember you finding the jacket: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-Discovered-July-15-3&p=11981900#post11981900
I thought it was you who must've called in the tip. Like you said, just goes to show that it's better off to call something in even if you think it's common knowledge.. It was a nice find by you by the way :)

This folded quilt photo seems a lot clearer than previous versions. Here are some ideas for some of the unidentified octagons:
(There appear to be some letters or numbers in the centre just above where quilt would have folded horizontally....or maybe it's just my monitor).

There was a 7 news item which including an interview with a lady (Sue) who worked at a shop called Bridge Agencies in Murray Bridge (now closed), and she said she remembered all the fabric that had been identified so far, but especially the pumpkin fabric as they had sold alot of that. I am sure the video is on one of the facebook pages.

It's so odd that the woman would specifically say that she sold lots of the pumpkin fabric. I don't like to doubt her word, but obviously, it's not a common print and it's not likely a quilting fabric. Plus, it's a seasonal fabric, not one that people would rush out to buy.

If she sold lots of it, then people would have items made from the fabric, but I have scoured all the SA quilters' photo sites I can find, and it hasn't appeared. It seems to have no on-line presence at all.

Because it seems to be unique, I think that we should continue to look for the source and not give up simply because she thinks that she sold a lot of it. It's a key bit of evidence that could lead to the killer, so I don't think it should be ignored.

Here's the video LEO, she talks about the pumpkin fabric at about 40 second mark: https://au.news.yahoo.com/video/watch/29245654/four-weeks-since-girl-s-remains-found/#page1

Just adding, I don't know if that teddy fabric they show is the same as the remnants of the teddy bears on the quilt, to me it looks like one of the teddies on the quilt is sitting with it's feet out in front, but on that teddy fabric they show none of the teddies are sitting. I could definitely be wrong though.

I want to mention that too much people are disappearing from Cruise ships all over the world. (I didn't know until now.)
Could it be this little girl - maybe with her mother - came to Adelaide unintentionally and lived hidden somewhere?

Yet the GAF brand. "Made in Australia" has only been around 2 years. Are the contents of the case misleading?
If it is such low volume, they will know who they send merchandise to.

<modsnip>

I think the GaF clothing linked above is a completely different brand - this one is streetwear, not for kids. Their clothes seem to be upcycled fashions - where they dye, bleach or add studs etc. to existing pieces.

Just wanted to say that I haven't had any dramas since the server upgrade. I'm using an old hand-me-down laptop, and it took me straight to my subscribed threads page today (that's what I have saved as my desktop shortcut for WS) and had even kept me signed in, which I really found surprising!

I think although not a lot may be available online regarding this fabric so I cannot quote it is a popular fabric especially quite a few years ago as many have mentioned. Fabrics pre Internet come to mind. Just because there is no link as such I believe does not mean it's not common. I would hedge my bets on a quilter or sewer with a few fabrics laying around so used some of this. I know my mother has a big bag of remnants she uses. The witness shows there is not anything unusual about the quilt.

Thanks for the link, Snoopdog. I'm torn between thinking that I should keep my doubts about the pumpkin print quietly to myself, and wanting to scream that she might be wrong.

I asked our local quilt store owner what she thought about the pumpkin print. She's owned the store for 30 years. Here's what she said.

"Interesting that the rest of it has decomposed but this patch hasn't! It makes me think that the quilt patch is maybe from the 60's when polyester blends were starting to be used. They don't break down as easily as cottons ( my 40+year old sheets are testament to that theory! Lol.). The pattern seems to me from about that era too. "

Well, that's just a anecdotal opinion, fwiw. But she does have a lot of experience with fabric.

Couldn't it be an own or a fat cat in stead of a mermaid?
I see some grey cat or owl figure. Maybe some disney like animal.

Ok, back to the quilt:

The piece to the right of the camel (ie third one down on the right hand side) - could this be Big Ears from Noddy? I can see a red hat and a face and a blue top, as below:

latest

I don't think it is the whole body; just the head and shoulders. What do you think?

I can see what looks like Big Ears from Noddy or possibly a garden gnome? With his right hand on his hip, elbow out, just like your pic above.

It's getting late here so my eyes aren't the sharpest, and I think I've been staring at the quilt for too long  but I think I can see 2 ladies faces on there as well:
