Have you seen a little girl wearing this distinctive jacket?
Det. Insp. Hutchins said detectives have now identified two of the remaining five clothing labels on items in the suitcase that were highlighted in the Sunday Mail a fortnight ago. They are the Miss X and Sally brands. Investigations were underway to identify their origins and at which shops they were sold at in an effort to identify their purchasers.
Forensic Science SA acting director Andrew Camilleri yesterday said negotiations were also underway with interstate laboratories to assist in providing the latest DNA technology to provide additional information.
If necessary international laboratories offering new DNA technologies will be contacted to provide assistance in generating the DNA profile, he said.
He said while forensic biologists were concentrating on the DNA recovery, staff within FSSAs Evidence Recovery group continued examinations into the suitcase and its contents to recover additional clues.
These examinations have provided other useful evidentiary information, including fibres, which are being examined by one of FSSAs fibre experts Mr Camilleri said.
