Found Deceased AUS - Tayla Spies,29, white 2017 dual cab Toyota Hilux I’d also missing. Left a hotel in Daley & travelled west to Surat, Queensland, 2 Feb 25

Edit, finally found the longer version of the footage courtesy of QLD police.
I think you're implying that she entered the service station on the right out of frame (from the East) and then did a clockwise U-turn inside the servo?

Perhaps she went to the bowser nearest the building first and found it was petrol only? (I'm assuming the road side bowser is diesel). I run E85 ethanol and I'm forever doing loops inside the servo trying to work out where they've hidden the single elusive E85 bowser 🤷‍♀️

she seems to be favoring her ribs or something under her shirt and it looks like she adjusts something under her shirt when she pops the fuel cap when shes at the car.

Taking a scenic route in Vermont is not the same as taking the scenic route in outback Australia. I used to drive weekly for over 3 hours each way in the Northern Territory, and I never once considered a more scenic route unless I had a specific purpose. Every road was much the same.

I think it depends what the options are. For instance I certainly would be happy to add 30 minutes to a 5 hour journey if I was not in a hurry and it meant some twisty roads through state forest rather than endless empty paddocks.

In Tayla's case it has been suggested that she wouldn't travel via Condamine unless she had to, as the journey is longer than travelling via Meandarra (dark blue).

But it looks to me like there is 10 minutes difference, and the Condamine route goes through three state forests.

Yeah she does, maybe adjusting an uncomfortable bra wire?

She also does a rather peculiar manoeuvre after putting the filler hose back on the bowser
At the 1:00 minute mark in the video.

i thought maybe underwire but I actually didnt think that underwire bras are that common anymore - also i think she might be stepping over the fuel hose when she pops the nozzle back in but it is an exaggerated move ill agree.

have been waiting for an update but its been pretty quiet.

It was also said to back on to Yuleba State Forest.
Warkon backs onto Yuleba State Forest, but Noorindoo does not.

Either they have the town wrong, or they have the measurement (and possibly the forest) wrong.
So I went back to some news articles and maybe Quimbys map was right.

The police were called to a Noorindoo property approx 40ks NE of Surat and the clue was the property backs onto Yuleba state forest off the Yuleba/Surat Road. Disregard the Noorindoo locale. Look for the properties that back off onto Yuleba State forest. It narrows it down to the property she may have been found on - from Surat and by road the property is about 40ks out.

If the map is correct that yellow circle could be accessed from a few avenues not just from Yuleba Surat Road.

I dont think the car was there from Feb. I believe the property owner that it was a recent thing.

I can't be sure exactly where the property is but these are the measurements:

Blue Dot = 40km line of sight from Surat (Yuleba-Surat Rd)
Red Dot = 40km by road from Surat (Yuleba-Surat Rd)
Yellow Dot = Quimby's theorised location (Approx. 22km line of sight / 25km by road from Surat. From Quimby's Map

White = Yuleba State Forest. Surat is at the bottom/left corner of this map

The Yellow dot is the car but the main house for that property backs off onto yuleba state forest.

True. I was thinking more along the lines of "taking the long way home" in this particular situation, which I also mentioned in my post. Maybe she wanted "thinking time." It’s also possible she didn't take the usual or obvious route because she was trying to avoid someone who might be looking for her. Or, as others have suggested, she had a specific reason for being in Condamine or someplace nearby it. Perhaps she wanted to stop somewhere along Condamine River?

IDK, just spitballing! We may never know.

Can you please show the "Main House" on a map
This is what is leading me to believe quimbys map was right and is my own opinion. So I looked at the info again in the context of comprehension. The police were called to a property in noorindoo 40klms NE of Surat off the Yuleba Surat road and the property backs onto the Yuleba state forest. So at first I thought the car was 40klm out and checked quimbys map and did the distances and got the same points as your red and blue dots but looking at the info again - what if they were called to the house first ( which makes sense) and they went from there. The house is about 45klms from Surat going the long way through the forest and depending on which map you are using ( use Qimagery for this one ) is along the river on the noorindoo boundary and the yuleba state forest is right at the doorstep.

“The car, about 2km into the property off the Yuleba-Surat road, which backs onto the Yuleba State Forrest, was locked but the interior was not in "disarray".”

check quimbys yellow dot and the roads that go to the right of it. The property itself is very very large.

I think this theory falls apart from the CCTV footage at the petrol station. She was moving around a lot, seeming very frantic and leaving quickly without even putting her seatbelt on. As well as the fact that she likely sped to get there. People in the country are generally more relaxed than that in my experience. Why would she then take a leisurely detour? All of her actions were clearly for a reason in my opinion, whatever that may be.

Hi, I've been missing from the thread for a while as there's not much more to add to it, but just dropped in for a look to see what's been happening...

Just to explain my map... so how I worked my yellow dot was more of just an in the ball park kinda thing... it wasn't measured, but the road she was found on is yuleba-surat road at the vicinity of Noorindoo, 2km into the property, which is south of the Condamine hwy. So basically I decided from the very edge of surat to the condamine turn-off is 35km. The media say the vehicle was found approximately 40km from surat, So if you leave the surat, drive 33 + 2km in, basically you're somewhere near the turn-off, 2 km in. It's not an exact x marks the spot. If we want to be more exact, I zoomed in on your mape and put an x. This is timbered and backs onto forestry. But in reality it is all just speculation... as the cocky who owns it owns a lot of land, it could really be on any of several places.

Where your spot is, is on the yuleba south road, in the vacinity of yuleba south so perhaps the media release rounded it up by a few km, maybe they've named the road wrong, who really knows, some of the media info and descriptions are pretty wild and inaccurate when you actually know the area.

Yep on the money IMO too.

She seemed jittery, lack of focus? Even putting fuel in was very quick. Certainly appeared to be in a hurry.

Underwire is still very common. I’d say 90% mainstream brands and sizes still use underwire.

I agree she does look jittery.
I think her family mentioned that she had actually filled up, and that the video had been edited. It looks like the cut was at the 54 second mark where the video image darkens. If the video wasn't cut, I think she'd only have time to put a litre or two in.

I still tend to think that this death is suspicious and I'm hoping the lack of updates is just because police are following up on leads.

Agree, I also think video released was cut . She does look hurried and on alert .

I wonder if police are withholding the full video as it shows someone come into view ? Moo

It’s all been very quiet . I haven’t heard of any funeral details released yet.

I did a little google and wireless vs underwire is like 60/40 with underwire being the majority but yes they are still common. Regardless I think it’s the ribs IMO.

Agree jittery, fidgety, looks a bit distracted. Something may have happened before this point or she is anticipating something happening. Even the footage with the bag she looks like she’s in a hurry.

There is 100% a cut at the 54 second mark. You can see it from the tree in the top left of the video - it teleports a bit. Maybe they cut it just because she wasn't really doing anything? That would be silly of course, full evidence is always better and police should know that, but who knows for now.
