So here is a map for everyone to understand why it's so confusing... like she would have driven to surat via the red line, then was seen on cctv in surat, which means she made it to surat. Then was said by TN to be seen " just before the Condamine turn off on the carnarvon hwy" but her car has been found at noorindoo... so I'm not yet sure by media reports if this is the locality or the property, but whichever one, they say 40km NE from surat on the yuleba-surat road. That's the yellow spot.

thanks for this Mishy - i find it interesting to note that if I have located that yellow circle correctly there appears to be a crude rest stop that I personally would consider a meeting point located on the yuleba surat road.I also attached pics of the distance from the Yuleba Surrat/Condamine intersection. Also the Condamine road being only 25 klms between the two points is really negligible in the grand scheme of living in the bush - esp travelling at speed and odd that she was found on the other road.

That spot with yellow dot and the rest stop / turn around area is 32 km by road, 27km line of sight from Surat.
I'm not sure if @chief quimby 's map was right.

...little country rest stops mainly used for large trucks like that are notorious for every type of rendezvous under the sun. im not sure if road trains are operated in that vicinity of Queensland but it isnt uncommon to see light vehicles parked in amongst trailers and semis. My maps wont let me zoom in to see a clear image but it looks like there could have been a toilet block there with some septic tanks ?

Im just speculating from the angle she had a few stops before she headed home and was meeting people.

It was also said to back on to Yuleba State Forest.
Warkon backs onto Yuleba State Forest, but Noorindoo does not.

Either they have the town wrong, or they have the measurement (and possibly the forest) wrong.

I was about to make the same point. Nothing in Noorindoo appears to back onto the Yuleba State Forest (see first image attached).
I’m imagining that it’s more Warkon (see second image attached). The Yuleba-Surat Road and Condamine Highway also meet at an intersection at Warkon. If Tayla turned off onto the Condy Hwy after meeting whomever near the turnoff, she’d head straight towards this Warkon intersection.

MOO - the bag being full of clothes, from storage and her sisters clothes at that has been an issue to me because i would have personally just left them in the car instead of carrying them from the room and back - unless it wasnt clothes and she received the bag the night before or the morning of and she had to keep an eye on that bag.

I also have an issue with the inconsistencies regarding her employment - there were reports she was self employed, looking for work, but picked up the car from an employee - is the car even registered to her and in her name? it is a stocko toyota hilux that could be potentially ex mining/leased and some bought at auction are all the same minus dents and scratches and little cosmetic things ( like tinting) there was a big focus on finding the car ( yes if they find the car they find her) but also maybe it wasnt her car at all and it could explain why she wasnt familiar with the functions of it ( when she got fuel, when it self locked)

where she was found - her BF mentioned he last saw her outside of Surat meeting up with friends - i personally live in the bush and it is easy to organise a meet up especially if i am stuck for time at a turn off or cross roads as in " ill meet ya half way " sort of thing so the travel burden is shared and people dont have to come into town. when the BF mentioned he last saw her outside of surat with friends i imagined they were travelling in a 2 car convoy and pulled off to the side of the road to conduct whatever it was they had business seeing their friends about. Yet he returned home and she didnt. Did something happen between Surat and where she was found or did something happen between Condamine and where she was found. She could have been rolling around in the tray under the torneau cover whilst * someone * could have put on a pink shirt and drove around surat in that hilux. the detail of where she was found is vague but im willing to bet it was at a turn off point/cross roads nearby.

there have been so many inconsistencies and vague details regarding this case though I dont think the full truth or investigation findings will come out as it *may* be part of a bigger elaborate shady network

just my humble opinion and what i have observed in the last couple of weeks.

IMO it just seems odd she travelled from condamine to Surat and then was supposed to be heading back to Roma....but went the same way she came into Surat - sort of heading the opposite direction to Roma (There is back roads she could have taken but the route itself isnt making sense.)

If she was found 40klms NE of Surat it puts her roughly here in between the two forests.

11.10 am Tayla’s car seen in Surat.

11.30am Tayla’s partner said that he saw her around 11.30am about 30k’s from Surat on the Roma side.
30k’s north is 2kms south of the Condamine Highway turnoff. This highway intersects with the Yuleba-Surat Road at Warkon, 25kms from the Condy turnoff.

12.13pm Tayla’s phone pings off the Yuleba South tower.

That’s merely minutes.

so tayla was in dalby and fueled up in condamine according to servo footage. has the route to surat been established as she could have taken a number of possible routes to Surat without having to pass through warkon and it would explain why her car was found around that way as she potentially had to do a drop off/courier to that locale as she didnt pass through it from condamine initially. she could have also left surat via the carnarvon highway onwards to roma but still end up in warkon via the condomine highway that joins up to yuleba-surat road.

My question is, what was Tayla doing at this particular location near the Condamine HWY turnoff? (Pin drop in red)

There's almost nothing out there...
EXCEPT... there are a few farms (yellow dots) with their driveway marked in white dashes.
The driveway entrance for those farms is about the closest thing (28km North of Surat).
In fact, that driveway entrance is the ONLY thing along that road, for miles. Did Tayla and her partner meet with friends at one of those farms?

But why would her car be seen turning back the way she already came instead of the easy highway road home?
That’s the only thing that makes me believe something happened before surat.
I strongly believe she went to Condamine for a reason. If she was going to surat from Dalby why wouldn’t she take Surat development road which is 20 minutes shorter and a main road ? It also has petrol stations along the way so she didn’t need to go to Condamine for petrol.
Why would she go there ? & then be seen on cctv later in Surat, heading away from her home where she was apparently heading? That makes no sense to me.

I agree re her having to go to Condamine for a reason. Totally had a reason to be at that place and it wasn't for just fuel IMO

Once she left Surat, turning left, she could have turned again onto Stuart Dev Rd, heading back up toward Condamine
