Media has gone quiet on this case. I’m hoping for some news soon. IMO it wasn’t a murder.

IMO I don’t think we will hear anything more, I’ve thought all along it wasn’t murder.

Certainly the quieter it is the more likely she committed suicide. Not that I understand why that is the case, but its the standard response.

That may or may not be the case. Police could be building evidence against someone, waiting on more forensic tests, or it may not be fowl play.
MOO.

Any news on Tayla? Coroners not released report?

This case has gone very silent. TN is back on social media and they had a private funeral for tayla a while back that was only announced after the event... I reckon we will never hear from police what happened or if they ever have or will arrest anyone. Truely the most strangly secretive missing persons case ever... IMO

Unless suicide or OD, those would both bring silence

Highly doubt suicide or OD... for reasons I can't post on WS public thread. JMO.

I find it hard to think that it was a suicide

A lot could be happening behind the scenes

Even with toxicology testing as part of an autopsy can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months to return, especially in specific substances are being tested, such as drugs or medications.
The police will be waiting for these

Her change of shirt, where her body was, was one kilometer from her car

The damage to her vehicle is interesting; that could have been used as the murder weapon.

Someone/others have possibly been in her vehicle and then used it to run her down, perhaps after she got out and ran for her life, over an argument/disagreement, and her body was found there

It could have also been premeditated

Which means that the offenders/s would have someone picking them up or another vehicle left there previously for their means of escape

Possibly her vehicle was there all the time and not noticed, or it was in a shed before and then brought out

I don't know what happened. However I believe it was suicide, have thought this all along. Otherwise police would surely have put out more reason reports. So tragic.

As far as I recall, the pink long sleeve shirt was worn over a white tshirt or similar. She may have just taken it off as the day warmed up.

I don't recall damage being noted to the car, and it didn't appear to be damaged in the pictures we saw.

The car was reportedly left locked, and Tayla's body was found a kilometre further in to the property... Does this not suggest that the took herself there?

Very sad all around; I hope the family have found some peace; I would also hope they had to support if they wanted to be more vocal about concerns this involved person/s known/unknown.

on the side though; the announcement in the paper didn't mention her achievements or personality only her relations. I find that a bit sterile. IMO

The vehicle was not in good condition, but what sort of bad condition we don't know

'It was not in a good condition, put it that way.'Detective Chief Inspector Garry Watts told a press conference on Friday

If it were a suicide, why would she damage a car before taking her life?

There would be some damage to the front, I don't think it had a bull bar. If it was used to ram Tayla, if she was running away from the vehicle

But I haven't seen any photos of the front of the vehicle when it was found

Det Insp Watts said investigators found the pink shirt Ms Spies is seen wearing in CCTV footage on the day she went missing.

In the videos I have watched, there is no white shirt under her pink top, it's an open-neck pink top.

If there is more to this that could put the family at risk, they will certainly be told not to say a thing. Keep off social media etc..
They have remained silent.

Police might be looking for any connections in other matters, even overseas

But as this was such a subject of a widespread police search, with a lot of media coverage.
I would think the police would say if she had committed suicide, this matter has now been fully investigated and is now closed

I'm interested to know about the area her body was found. Moving a body is not easy, and moving a body even a few days after the death in 35*c (95*f?) weather would be completely unfathomable. It would be rotten after 48 hours.

The car itself was 2km into this property, and the remains found approximately 1km away from the car. I'm not sure it's been stated which direction but it's possible she was 3km into this property.

Does anyone know if a map was published showing the location of the car? It would be interesting to see the terrain involved.

Even though I suspect foul play, if it turns out that the only way in there was walking, then perhaps it's the case that she went on a final bender and passed away out there.
Could it be possible that she was assumed deceased and put inside the vehicle, the accelerator wedged on and the car sent forth on to the property, with her to come to after it came to rest for whatever reason and she's clambered out somehow and crawled incoherently from the vehicle to her ultimate demise?
Apologies if this is already discussed I'm just catching up to the thread now.

Wouldn’t have released the body for burial if there was any suspicion.

Well, just maybe, given the report was human remains were found, one could hold another scenario that the car, which was locked ( cant imagine anyone going to commit suicide locking up their car prior??? why???) was planted there along with the body , out in the open woods on a private property, near a forestry that is used for pig hunting.

What would the police have to go on, if remains were found??? Out in the elements with feral animals and weather that was at the time, raining off and on.

SO many factors.

Are there really that many factors? It was reported _very_ early on that she was known to go bush, and there were some MH concerns about her.

Anything is technically possible, but I would surmise (from the lack of any open investigation) that it is unlikely anyone else was involved.

It has been reported previously that the ute is self locking after a certain time.
