Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

An MSM article ... it doesn't add anything more details.

SA Police and ADF personnel will resume their search for missing four-year-old Gus in South Australia's mid-north tomorrow.

In a statement, SA Police said they would resume search activity at the family's station, about 43km south of Yunta.

"The search, which will involve police and ADF personnel, will concentrate on an expanded area outside of the zone already searched extensively following Gus’s disappearance on Saturday, 27 September," police said.

Hmmm no SES mentioned

Strange as it may seem to others, not all people, not all families have even the slightest interest in football.
Less is how much I couldn't care. Anyone need a translation? 😀

Said just like a Queenslander (or NSWel)!

This was posted on the 7News FB site just 20 mins ago. I am not finding any other links at the moment, but it does say "Breaking" news.

ETA: It is now also breaking on the ABC (News) North and West FB site .... ABC North and West

I wonder if they've got a bit of data back from the infrared aerial search
I came here to say the exact same thing in relation to SouthAussie's post. Hopefully they'll find Gus, but it will be heartbreaking if he was just outside the search area all along. :-(

A specialised search ... and/or no Mr Blab-To-The-Media SES guys allowed with their opinions.

Yep sounding like a very specialised search.

I just checked the time in SA....3:21 pm, Monday. When they say the search will be resumed tomorrow...I take that to mean Tuesday.
(it's nearly 10 pm here Sunday...CA)

Yes, they will mean our Tuesday. Probably mid-afternoon on Monday, your time.

“There continues to be regular and close engagement with the Lamont family who are continuing to assist with the investigation.

“Oak Park Station is private property. The family has asked that media refrain from contacting them and do not enter their property.

Police said there will be no police spokesperson at the search site, and any updates on the case will now be provided from police headquarters in Adelaide.”

"armed with a reinvigorated idea that they may locate the child."
may very well be something found in the aerial data that's just been revealed. Hopefully.

It seems that the previous search covered 500 sq kms. And now, Police are going to search an even larger area….

On Monday 6 October, a significant search was conducted after a small footprint was located around a dam about 5.5 kilometres west of the Homestead. The search involved numerous resources, including STAR, PolAir and a tracker. The footprint was subsequently found not to be related to Gus.”

Edit: typo with sq kms

I've seen reported that they covered 500 square kilometers :oops: that's about 123 000 acres , has to be an error!!!

Before it was scaled back, the search for Gus spanned seven days and an area of almost 500 square kilometres, involving aircraft and teams on the ground.

I wonder if that SES guy who gave his opinion got into some trouble over it.

SAR is an organized group that LE is already familiar with. LE would not have the time or want to be vetting and approving random people who are not trained showing up to search. That would just cause massive problems. And like someone said, there would be lots of people filming and taking pictures and doing everything except actually look for Gus. All these internet wannabe reporters who care more about their views than a missing child are the last thing this family needs to deal with. I think the family was concerned about random strangers showing up, not organized search teams co ordinated with the police. There seems to be some confusion in this thread about that. They never asked the professional SAR volunteers to not attend. JMO

That's it, hey!

ADF and police are under a code of conduct. Especially when it comes to speaking to media.

SES seem to be more prone to having loose lips!! In this case. And the old saying loose lips sink ships is still relevant today!

Imo

This report says the previous search area was 470sq km area.

October 13, 2025

The search was scaled back last week after foot patrols, divers, all-terrain vehicles, helicopters, drones, Australian Defence Force members and Aboriginal trackers failed to turn up any clues over a 470sq km area.”

None of it really makes sense because the property is 6,000 hectares, which equals 60 sq km.

The desperate hunt for the boy at the family's sprawling 6,000-hectare sheep grazing property ....

Emergency services and community members continue search for 4yo boy

I have a stupid question. What do you do on a sheep station when there aren't any sheep? How do you earn an income and generate enough expendable income to live?

(I'm not a sheep farm girlie so humour me...)
