That’s true assuming the timeline given to police is accurate. If that timing isn’t right then they might need to expand the radius now. But with what’s come out today the wandered off theory feels done. It just doesn’t make sense with what we know now.Even if the timeline was longer than a few hours, once a few days have passed, should it be affecting the search area? Shouldn't that be based on how far he could get in several days anyway, once he wasn't found right away? I wonder how wide the original zone was.
I am so glad they are continuing to search beyond the original limits, because doing so has been successful in other cases.
Also why bring in the ADF. Do they have specialist equipment like ground penetrating radar or excavators? There’s no SES this time either which makes it feel more controlled. It doesn’t read like a grid search to me, it feels more like they’ve got some data or imagery they’re working from and are going in targeted.
