South Australian police have declared the disappearance of Gus Lamont a major crime and say a person who has lived at his outback property is now considered a suspect, but have stressed that the boy's parents are not under investigation.

Now that I've read the latest articles it is looking like he did not just wander off.
Poor little Gus, where is he ?

It all went quiet but the Police were working away quietly trying to find out what happened.
They never just gave up and just put it in the too hard basket.

ETA: Sorry, I think I worded this awkwardly. I thought he was pretty clear that there was no evidence that he wandered off and that they don't believe that that's what happened. So I'm wondering what you heard that was different from what I heard.
