Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

I’ll clarify my intent. I wasn’t attacking anyone’s identity or denying anyone’s dignity. I was pointing out that this thread was being pulled off course by someone using it to publicly demonstrate how morally correct they are, rather than engaging with the substance of a serious case involving a missing child. My comment was an attempt to redirect the focus back to relevance and proportionality. The constant appeal to authority and immediate escalation to moderation is strange in a forum of adults, especially when it replaces discussion rather than resolving it. Less culture war signalling, less running to admin, and more substance on the actual case would be a better outcome for everyone here.
For profiling purposes gender is important and so is whether or not the transition happened pre puberty as hormones play a large role in our aggression and attachment bonding. For example, people with more testosterone (biological males) are more likely to show control and dominance, risk taking behaviours and higher aggression and threat behaviours and defensive status behaviours, whereas people with more estrogen (biological females) are more likely to have stronger attachment bonds to offspring, and are more likely to protect offspring.

There’s also the fact that biological males have a much higher propensity to be sexual abusers than biological females and you can’t rule that out here yet.

It’s a tricky topic to navigate in a situation like this, imo.

That’s my theory. You wouldn’t bury a child in the broad daylight typically, imo. I think they’ll find him buried on the far corners of the property.
Could possibly be at Pualco Range Conservation Park which borders on to Oak Park Station and has a locked gate to seperate the 2 places OR Bullyaninnie Station which is apart of SM's family.

They would have only been granted a warrant if new information came to light, imo - which seemed to occur on January 10.
I still have a feeling that the family were treated far differently than your average family who had a missing child under strange circumstances, by the Police. It felt that the family had been given protection? I would have thought a search warrant would have been issued immediately and wouldn’t need special permission, especially as it is such a mysterious case? IMO

It would have been corroborated by other people on the property and also Jess, though.

I think LE mentioned on the live that it was only January 10 when police were given other conflicting information and did another search.

I think SM has cooperated with police against JM only recently. This would also explain why SM wasn’t involved in the search but JM was.

The Christmas period would have escalated tensions and grief for the family, imo.
Right, there was corroboration by Jess. But it was a strange family dynamic.

I am open to the possibility that her grandparents said it was vitally important that she say JM was out with her all day.

And if Jess was just worried about finding her wandering boy, she'd be OK with saying that and understand why they wanted her to corroborate that story. If they are both innocent then she'd be happy to help keep some suspicion away. IMO

Yes but did you see that the SA parliament fast tracked new laws in November 2025 giving police more powers to search properties etc. in high risk missing persons cases. Coincidence?

I wonder how long until we know who is responsible?

WS has plenty of rules, and threads are regularly "pulled off course" by posts pointing out instances when those rules have been violated. One of those rules was that the gender identity of the grandmother was not to be discussed in this thread. The person who misgendered JM broke that rule (and in a disrespectful way IMO). There is zero reason either disrespect or a WS rule violation shouldn't be pointed out so that it can be addressed by the mods. MOO

SUPPOSEDLY
But if the mum is not a suspect, why would she give a statement to police that she was sheep sheering with trans grandma (assuming this is how police gathered their info)?

I just read this…

I anticipate there will be further searches at Oak Park Station and at several sites on an adjacent national park to locate Gus as new information and intelligence comes to hand as the investigation continues,'' Fielke said.

Only three people were on the property at the time of Gus' disappearance, Fielke said.

😳 😳 😮

Maybe she was coerced or wasn’t aware - the parents both searched for Gus. Imo

What evidence would there be that he didn't wander off?

ETA: Sorry, I think I worded this awkwardly. I thought he was pretty clear that there was no evidence that he wandered off and that they don't believe that that's what happened. So I'm wondering what you heard that was different from what I heard.
I was just trying to be fair, but I hadn't read the latest articles when I posted.
I have updated my post.

This would be SM, Gus and his little baby brother. To me it sounds like they are questioning SM's version of events...ie Gus playing in the sandpit. IMO

Here we GO! LE is finally saying publicly, what many of us have been thinking all along.

That sweet boy did not just wander away. And it was not an abduction by strangers or sheep shearers.

Something very bad happened close to home!
& gosh, wasn't anyone who suggested that scenario here in the early days, howled down & criticized

Where did you read that the grandparents had primary custody?
I can’t find it currently but I’ll get back to you

As you may know, until someone is identified by LE as a suspect or POI, it is literally against WS rules to suggest they are guilty. Especially family members.

It's not that no one here suspected this might be the outcome, but that it's not permitted to say so on WS in advance of LE designation.

I don’t know why that always happens here. We all know the stats - it’s nearly always a close family member.
