Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

Here we GO! LE is finally saying publicly, what many of us have been thinking all along.

That sweet boy did not just wander away. And it was not an abduction by strangers or sheep shearers.

Something very bad happened close to home!

SAPOL did wait a while before doing a thorough forensic search…..

Det. Supt. Fielke said as a result of recent investigations on 14 and 15 January 2026 detectives attended Oak Park Station and executed a search warrant.

A comprehensive forensic search of the homestead was conducted and detectives seized a number of items, including a vehicle, a motorcycle and electronic devices for forensic examination.”

Possibility Gus was still at station when police were first called

Det Supt Darren Fielke was asked whether Gus Lamont may still have been on the station when police were first called to the property.

'Possibly. Police were on scene quite quickly when they were advised Gus was missing,' he told reporters.

'Yes, there was some time in between, but it's possible.'

But even the timing. Calling the police at 8pm which would take them an hour to get to surely (LE mentioned on the live that each driveway is 45kms long) so now we are in darkness. It happens to help distance even further by providing a bigger buffer. IMO

They would have only been granted a warrant if new information came to light, imo - which seemed to occur on January 10.

Two of the adults weren’t at the properly all day. I personally think he was killed the night prior and hidden then. Evidence cleaned up the next day. Jess would have left early the next morning with JM and not noticed if Gus wasn’t in bed, imo.

I think SM was coerced into providing the story about playing in the dirt giving JM an alibi at the sheep farm away from the property, and is now cooperating with police against JM.

IMO

That's similar to what I had in my mind. Everything was just off. I can imagine scenarios in which the grandmother (or maybe even the daughter as well) could have been persuaded that it was something they should do. Convinced they were protecting someone from what they might have perceived to be unfair suspicion or persecution for a variety of reasons.

I wonder what Gus's father and his side of the family are making of all of this. Terrible stuff.

I recall reading that there was conflict between Gus’ father and JM, which is why he didn’t live on the property. That Jess still did while the grandparents had primary custody could point to a very controlling coercive family dynamic, imo.
Where did you read that the grandparents had primary custody?

This is almost word for word what I was just going to post. I have questioned the family dynamic in this situation since I learned about the father not being allowed on the property. A mother who is purportedly still in a relationship with her children's father doesn't live separately from the father like this unless there is a very unusual dynamic going on. In my opinion, of course.

Yes... and potentially various forms of leverage involved. And they're so very very isolated.

Not sure if this has been posted about a suspect (not Gus's parents).

"Detective superintendent Darren Fielke, the officer in charge of major crime, said police had effectively ruled out Gus wandering off and Gus being abducted. He said they were now investigating someone in his household – but stressed the suspect was not one of his parents."

This is horrible news. If this is a domestic/family violence incident, which is not confirmed, I have no words. I have no constructive words either way. I just feel awful for his dad, his mum, his sibling, like, I can't imagine

That’s my theory. You wouldn’t bury a child in the broad daylight typically, imo. I think they’ll find him buried on the far corners of the property.
Could possibly be at Pualco Range Conservation Park which borders on to Oak Park Station and has a locked gate to seperate the 2 places OR Bullyaninnie Station which is apart of SM's family.

I still have a feeling that the family were treated far differently than your average family who had a missing child under strange circumstances, by the Police. It felt that the family had been given protection? I would have thought a search warrant would have been issued immediately and wouldn’t need special permission, especially as it is such a mysterious case? IMO

It would have been corroborated by other people on the property and also Jess, though.

I think LE mentioned on the live that it was only January 10 when police were given other conflicting information and did another search.

I think SM has cooperated with police against JM only recently. This would also explain why SM wasn’t involved in the search but JM was.

The Christmas period would have escalated tensions and grief for the family, imo.
Right, there was corroboration by Jess. But it was a strange family dynamic.

I am open to the possibility that her grandparents said it was vitally important that she say JM was out with her all day.

And if Jess was just worried about finding her wandering boy, she'd be OK with saying that and understand why they wanted her to corroborate that story. If they are both innocent then she'd be happy to help keep some suspicion away. IMO

Yes but did you see that the SA parliament fast tracked new laws in November 2025 giving police more powers to search properties etc. in high risk missing persons cases. Coincidence?

I wonder how long until we know who is responsible?
