Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

BTW, if Gus's mother Jess was threatened/coerced into helping to cover up whatever happened to him, then how do we know when Gus presumably died? It might have been weeks before. We never could find out when he was last seen by anyone else, could we.

Are you thinking the whole family is weird for not releasing images to the media?

Abduction was only an extremely slim likelihood. So, not weird at all in my opinion.
Even if he wasn't abducted, if he was wandering around, and walked out to the main road, it would be nice for drivers to recognise him if they saw him. imo

I wonder if the journalist is hinting here…..

It was previously understood that Gus was in the care of his grandmother, Shannon Murray, while his mother Jessica and grandparent Josie were tending sheep about 10km away, when he disappeared.”
"Previously understood". It sounds like a hint to me.

And wouldn't covering up an accident, disposing of a body also be considered a major crime?
It would be perverting the course of justice, tampering with evidence and (probably) preventing lawful burial here in the UK. I imagine there are equivalent crimes in Australia.

All evidence and updates by the police so far state the father is in the clear and that is also my opinion.
I AGREE.

I was talking about the Nancy Guthrie missing case when I said 'the son-in-law is suspicious but could be innocent.'

I never ever thought Gus's father seemed suspicious. I saw pictures of his little house, and porch was full of fun toys, like bikes and soccer balls and it looked like a kid's playground. Unlike the stark Station where Gus reportedly played all alone in a dirt pit with a shovel. 🥺

Yunta has a population of 60 people and is an area of 5,000 sq/km. I think the town of Yunta that is on the main highway (nearest main rd) is 40kms from the house.

Oak park station is very very remote.

However LE would have had to go with the evidence they had at the time. As the presser states, they were focusing on 3 scenarios. Wandered off, abducted, insider involvement. I think a lot of us were following MSM at the time. How many times did the police say "Family are cooperating fully".
Often, when the police say " Family are cooperating fully".....it means that LE is really wanting them to continue cooperating because they have lots of things LE wants to clear up. imo

How far is the road from the Station? Isn't there one right out the main gate ?

If there is no road, no cars, except for 40 kms away, why did anyone think he was abducted?

So if you saw a three-year-old on the highway, you'd do something about it, not drive on past because he doesn't really look familiar.

Many of us predicted this. There is no joy in being right.

Poor Gus.

Agree. It seemed obvious, but it's very sad to have it confirmed. Poor Gus :(

That's rubbish. There are absolutely roads nearer than 40km.

Re roads, all of that info is in today’s update. Should be no need to still be speculating this here.

Re reports of custody, this is just my memory but this was never reported and has only ever been speculated and rumoured via social media.

I was quoting someone else---I am not saying it is that far away. lol

Here is the OP quote:

Of course---anyone and hopefully everyone would stop if a 4 yr old was walking along the highway.

But what if he was just walking along the small frontage road?

If you stopped and then recognised it was actually GUS, the missing child, you'd know exactly what to do next.

If not, and you might not understand the urgency. Maybe he'd point to a driveway and say that's it and you'd drop him off? Not knowing....?

Not sure, but I’m a city dweller who is conditioned to MYOB.

I think he is stating the obvious.
And Police say parents not suspects. Join the dots...

Further note for reference, some earlier reports were worded

“Gus’s mother and a grandparent were reportedly tending to their flock at the time, while Gus was with his grandmother and younger brother Ronnie.” BBM

From this example -

“I anticipate there will be further searches at Oak Park Station and at several sites on an adjacent national park to locate Gus as new information and intelligence comes to hand as the investigation continues,’’ Det. Supt. Fielke said.

The National Park seems the most likely place IMO.

Just wondering if it was an accident like some are saying, would LE claim it a major crime and say "suspect"? Seem there is currently only 1 suspect, then it's likely it was intentional harm imo

LE seized a motorbike, vehicle and electronic devices. Is that drone picture of someone on the motorbike, the motorbike they seized I wonder.
