So, here we have it!!
“A
man known to Gus suspected by Police”
Suspect named in search for Gus Lamont, 4, missing in remote South Australia
“
Police have identified a suspect in the disappearance of four-year-old Gus Lamont from his family’s SA property, which has now been declared a major crime.
South Australian Police are treating the investigation into Gus Lamont's disappearance as a major crime, with a man known to Gus suspected by police.
Police have shared more information about the search for missing four-year-old Gus Lamont, as two members of his family have reportedly hired lawyers.”
BBM above. I'm sorry but where in the report you attached from news.com does it say anything about "...a man known to Gus suspected by police?
The report basically just covers what was said in the presser today.
All I could find was this paragraph which says nothing about 'a man'
" His disappearance is now being investigated as a major crime, with police revealing on Thursday that they had identified a suspect who they believe was known to the little boy."
OTOH the report clearly reiterates that the suspect is someone who was residing in the house when Gus went missing, which afaik was JM, SM and JL. And the report covers that section of the presser where Police rule out either parent being a suspect. So that leaves SM or JM as the current suspect. Moo
Is it possible to clear up what you mean here?
That article also states
"There is no suggestion that Josie or Shannon Murray were involved in Gus’ disappearance."
News.com is saying that about themselves IMO. Ie They are not suggesting the police suggested this. They are reporting on what was said in the presser, which unambiguously said the suspect resided in the home at the time Gus went missing, and that the suspect is not a parent. Moo this is either news.com legal Dept thing ...some kind of abundance of caution...or a 'typo' ( poor AI editing?) that has confused the parents with the grandparents. Jmo
Either way, IMO a reliable source for the presser and current state of affairs is the presser itself.
