Both Jess and Gus are shown with what could be said to be very fair hair colour (I am not asserting this as fact): so it might not be surprising if a younger Josie also had fair hair and hence the nickname "Snow."

Originally the Police said they had one person who had stopped co-operating, and then I feel sure that I read that maybe the next day that there was one more person from the property who had now also stopped co-operating - but I can’t find that article. I can only find where the original person stopped co-operating. I do wonder if we were able to deduct who was who from the media reports - but they seem to have disappeared now.

The person who has withdrawn their co-operation is now considered a suspect in the disappearance of Gus,” he said.

“I do want to stress, however, that Gus’s parents are not suspects in his disappearance.

“I can’t give you any more information about the suspect or where the suspect is and why that person is a suspect.”

I feel so relieved they have finally spoken out.
He looks like a tough little boy with those bare feet outside.

Glad to see they have finally spoken out about their little boy by appealing for public assistance ( via a police released statement ) to help locate Gus.

Also that Josh & Jess also thanked the police etc

I wonder why now?, after nearly 5 months , and about 20 days after police declared a suspect.

What a little cutie Gus is, clearly a "farm" kid!

Gus Lamont parents appeal for information

24 Feb 2026 2:49pm
The parents of four-year-old Gus Lamont, who disappeared from Oak Valley Station on 27 September 2025, have appealed for public assistance as police investigations continue.
Gus’s parents have also released video and another photograph of him to assist the investigation.

Task Force Horizon investigations are continuing.

"We are united in our grief, and we are united in our search for answers about what happened to our little boy, Gus, who means everything to us. Our lives have been shattered, and every moment without him is unbearable. We know someone out there may have information. If someone knows what happened, we are pleading with that person—or anyone who may have seen or heard anything—to please come forward. Even the smallest detail could give us the answers we so desperately need.

“We also want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone involved in the search for Gus. The tireless efforts of police, emergency services, ADF personnel, volunteers, and specialists have meant more to us than we can ever say. To the friends, family and supporters who have shown such compassion, concern, and assistance during this heartbreaking time: thank you. Your kindness has helped carry us through the darkest days of our lives.

“All we want is to bring Gus home and understand what happened to our beautiful boy”.

While it is positive to hear from the parents, unfortunately it MAY indicate the police have no further leads.
Both maternal grandparents not cooperating, and it WOULD SEEM not enough evidence to charge the suspect.

It MAY be that none of the pressure being applied to the suspect is having any effect, including the recent firearms related charge and the renewed searches based on previous leads and with cadaver dog.

The police MAY be encouraging this latest move, so as to maintain momentum for the investigation, POSSIBLY indicating no other leads except the inconsistencies (I am not asserting any of the above as fact).

Josh and Jess as parents indicate that even the smallest bit of information MAY help......

Perhaps this statement is also to bring public pressure on the grandparents (I still can’t comprehend how they can be withholding information from their daughter, allegedly) or on anyone local who might have knowledge of something different that might give a clue?

That video of Gus is heartbreaking - such a lovely boy, full of life.

Imo this latest statement and new photos and video are designed to, as others have mentioned here, put more pressure on either of the grandparents, or at least the one not cooperating with police. Heartbreaking really seeing the photos and video.

It's lovely to see more images and videos of little Gus. Such a cutie. Maybe the parents were being influenced by grandparents not to post any images and now that bond is broken they are tapping into alternate resources to seek help. Possibly hoping for sightings of one of the grandparents on the day or days after the sighting as they now know at least one of the grandparents is looking like the suspect. I feel so heartbroken for Jess under these circumstances. I can't imagine it. I just wish we knew when Jess last sighted Gus

IMO it looks like Shannon Murray is co-operating with the Taskforce officers during their search of Oak Park station on 17 February. The day that Josie Murray was charged with possessing a gun silencer and also the day that Police said they had a suspect who lived at Oak Park station who had now stopped co-operating with Police.

I agree that this is a likely possibility.
IMO the police probably requested and organised this appeal as part of a strategy to put pressure on the suspect and/or perhaps the other grandparent who ( though no second suspect has been publicly announced in connection with Gus' disappearance) they suspect may know something. Recent searches for Gus have not uncovered any evidence and they need new leads. Jmo

Jess's parents Shannon and Josie, must have a psychological codependency regarding their daughter. What hold do her parents have for her to refrain from speaking publicly about her son for over 5 months?

Surely there must be doubt now in her mind. As I mentioned previously, Gus could only have "disappeared" under Shannon's watch, while Josie and Jess were tending to their sheep. Then when Josie and Jess returned, Shannon told Josie in private what happened.

Jess must initially thought Gus must been either missing from misadventure or abducted. Both have been ruled out. Jess in her mind, thought her parents would never lie to her. Sadly she is now realising that is not the case.

They seem to be narcissistic parents. Josh saw through the family 'dynamics'. My opinion is, Josie is the narcissistic parent, Shannon is the enabler.
