Police have never said they had 2 suspects. Originally they said one suspect not cooperating. Later the second person was also not cooperating. Never was it said there were 2 suspects. It is everyone's right in Australia to state your name and address only and say nothing else. Even lawyer up. Innocent until proved guilty.⁵
I think they did refer to 2 suspects, if that wording is correct. Otherwise they would have said "the" suspect, or "their" suspect. Well, that's how it seems to me.

Those are all rhetorical questions but I can’t imagine caring so much for a spouse that I’d cover up the accidental or otherwise death of a grandchild (or any child actually).
Fear may come into play.

"Under the Family Law Act 1975, both parents — married or not — generally share equal parental responsibility for their child. This means both have the right to make decisions about their child’s welfare, education, healthcare, and upbringing.'

" In practice, the court’s main concern is the child’s best interests. Whether parents are married, in a de facto relationship, or separated, the same principles apply when determining custody or parenting arrangements.
If both parents are listed on the child’s birth certificate, their legal rights are recognised equally."

The above is from a New South Wales law firm. However the same applies throughout all states of Australia. See Relationships Australia website.

Do we know if Josh was on the BC or not?

Again, more evidence that makes me think any alleged death was accidental. JMO but something went horribly wrong and all evidence had to be concealed. This would likely involve both grandparents but without knowing exactly where Gus is and how he’s concealed, the police can’t yet confirm only two people were involved.
Yes, but there are 'accidents' and then there are 'accidents.' In other words some incidents are truly innocent accidents while others might be accidents which were neglectful, or harsh or severe incidents, like punishments which accidentally go wrong.

Truly innocent accidents will usually be called in to first responders. Other 'accidents' are often desperately covered up and hidden.

They actually referred to 2 now not cooperating, but have never said they have 2 suspects. The latest presser said one was cooperating via their lawyer. But SAPOL wouldn't say more about it.
MOO. Probably looking out for each other now. They seem to have alienated everyone else in their lives. Even friend Fleur has been silent since her initial interview.

I was just about to mention Fleur actually.

I don't remember her interview, haven't been active on this case for a while so I wasn't sure if anything further than the initial interview had happened.

Do we know any reasons why they may have not got anything further from Fleur?
(Being cut off from family, not thought to have any information, etc.)

I'm assuming no, but just in case anyone has any theories or anything, because I honestly thought she would have at least something useful, but I may have just been hoping for that.

There's no reason why he wouldn't be. He and Jess were together at that point AFAIK, and Gus has his last name

Yes, I appreciate that. My response was to the post I quoted which hypothesised both were involved :) And yes, I agree with you that only one suspect “yet” is the most obvious/best way to think of things. Perhaps the non-suspect is being given an opportunity to think and co-operate sufficiently that Gus can be found.

JMO - I do believe that both were involved in some way or know something of what happened - or perhaps just have suspicions.
I hope that is the case but I suspect that both were involved.

ABC spoke with Fleur recently. (2nd time she has spoken with the media). I posted about it a few pages back ... in this link.

I wonder if the police have a fair idea what happened

As another possible theory. What if Shannon's story is totally true. What is Josie came home early and did something to Gus. Unbeknown to Shannon. Shannon goes out and cant find Gus. Josie stays quiet and runs with the wandered off story. Moo.
Almost anything is possible at this point. JMO

I will also say if gus was harmed in an unfortunate dog attack , one would have no reason not to call for an ambulance or inform the mother of that child .

No matter the breed or known placid -ness , all breeds have been known to issue anything from a nip to the skin to a full on death attack . These accidents happen when you put two unpredictable entities together, children and animals .

However, I don't feel this was the case

if Gus's disappearance was at the hand of someone known to him and whatever happened even if accidental such as a spanking gone too far . The person covered it up because the person was in someway negligent and what they did was punishable by the law, hence the need to create a cover up story of a wandering

Imo jmo
I cringe every time I hear of a dog attacking someone, especially a child.

This isn’t based on any personal experience other than having a background in biology and watching way 👏 too 👏 many 👏 true crime docs but I would think a cadaver dog would alert on human blood, especially as it decays. I’ve also seen several cases of cadaver dogs alerting to car trunks, etc. where only blood is left from a body previously being placed there.

I’d love to know if anyone here has any insight on the minimum time a body would need to stay in a fixed location for it to leave enough scent for a dog to detect.

I remember hearing the older the DNA the more pungent the smell is to a cadaver dog. This allows a dog to track scent over many years. imo

You're not alone, I had to ponder too.
Sorry, I should have spelled out Birth Certificate.

I wondered because they are not married so Josh would have to be on the BC if he wants to have equal say about parental decisions about living conditions and schooling, etc.
