Hi Seabreeze - one of our recent cases in a country region, had friends that liked to go pig shooting. We just found some of the FB pics a bit much, and they are reappearing again.

Oh ok thanks for clearing that up:)

Omg I just saw what you meant!!!!!! I think I'm going to be sick. I love pigs:(

It IS pretty sickening  I love animals, including pigs, too!

I don't understand why shooting a defenceless animal makes these guys feel like a Big Man!!! Please!!!

Some people's FB sites are downright scary!!! :scared:

But helpful in determining where to never, ever live!!!!:floorlaugh:

I'm not defending the actions being taken here, but Feral Pigs are a huge problem in parts of Australia. I can see why control measures are needed, but some treat it as a sport.

Sure Sleep, I understand that. And I understand that the culture in the country is very different from that in the city.

But I struggle when they've got those dead pigs draped like some kind of trophy on the top of their FB page. Makes me sad that it's something they're proud of.

But you know, I'm city born and bred and in many ways that's like coming from a completely alien culture, so I don't understand these guys at all!!

I agree Isis my list of " Do not go there" gets longer every time I log on to this site.

Wild pigs are a pest on farms and they are dangerous and down right scary ( I have had to run like the clappers to escape one) but i saying that I love animals and don't like to see dead pictures of any kind. I used to think living in the country would be a dream come true, but due to the number of unsolved remote cases on here I think I will stick to the burbs.

There's also money to be made from pig hunting, not all bacon comes from pigs bred in piggeries!

Whilst I totally get where you're coming from with the hunting pics, they're really confronting, I don't see them as being any different from fishing photos really. Other than the obvious graphic nature, it's the same concept though.

But now you do have me thinking about our fishing photos on the wall? Hhhhmmmm...

I actually do struggle with seeing fishing photos, Humdinger!! I always feels sad for the fish!

And I'm also very aware that it's totally hypocritical of me as I'm not a vegetarian!!! (was for many years but once I got pregnant I just craved meat and never returned to vegetarian land) :blushing:

The "new" news that she may have been walking with a group... Instead of alone... Seems to me that there may be more witnesses to events leading up to her disappearance... And then her death...

I recognize they were probably not there when she died... But having multiple witnesses can help develop a timeline...

I'd just never thought of that until this thread! It challenges my mind and my belief systems almost daily here at WS!!

It sounds like LE are really working hard on this case, which is good. I'm seriously hoping they catch the perp/s very soon!:

Police have made an urgent appeal for more information into the death of young mother-of-three Alexis Jeffery.....The appeal came on Tuesday after calls to Crime Stoppers and Goondiwindi Police dwindled.

It also came as police renewed their investigations, bringing in divers to explore the Macintyre River close to where the body of Ms Jeffery was found on Sunday, March 16.

So forensic results are due soon, according to this article. The last line is interesting (BBM). That implies that the COD isn't obvious from her body, does it not?

Forensic results, including toxicology and pathology tests and reports, are expected during the coming week.

“They [the pathologists] will rarely give a cause of death until they have all the information," Superintendent Isherwood said.

“I can say however there was no significant trauma."

No new major news on this case. I wonder what LE know?? Something, I hope.

A very sad article by a friend of hers:

Alexis was still talking.

“Instead of parking and picking her up, I decided to go around the block again which only took a minute, but when I got back there she was gone.

“If only I’d turned right.

“I’m going to regret that forever. If I had stopped you would still be with us.”

This article is from April 4th, but I missed it then. It says police are adopting a new tack....

POLICE investigating the suspected murder of Goondiwindi woman Alexis Jeffrey are asking early-morning walkers to come forward.

Darling Downs Crime Group officer Detective Acting Inspector Paul McCusker said investigators were following leads after a good response to previous calls for information.

However he said people who might have walked past the site where the 23-year-old's body was found on March 16 could have important information and not know it.
