The CM makes a point of saying he doesn't have access to the trust(which is quite normal) just to make a negative implication out of it.

I think Kimster is on her way folks - looks like the number of pages has suddenly gone down by at least one - and we know what that means.....

Standard media ploy, they must be screaming for something to print. Its been a barren case in terms of selling points. Of which Im glad, as the focus of the tragedy is so much more important than anything else.

family trusts are often 'discretionary', meaning the trustee (often a corporate trustee). has the right to assign or allocate the 'interest' as they see fit. the only rights the beneficiaries have are the equitable right to demand the trustee properly administer the trust. having said that, GBC is not likely to be a beneficiary of the trust (I havent read the latest report, nor other reports on trusts as I didnt see the relevance to who killed Allison)
In fact, I think even the kids are not entitled to the money yet. They may have entitlement but are legally disabled, due to their age.
I dont think this is relevant that he doesnt have access
I think its relevant that CM decided to state this obvious fact IMO

No, I just meant that I found it interesting that the CM mentioned it. In a little sentence all of it's own.

yes, totally unnecessary and stating the bleeding obvious. It is a clear attempt to raise suspicion in the public IMO

Yes, that was what I thought, the fact that they put it in their article. :)

That can be for peace of mind for the donating public.

It's an added safeguard for the children and safeguard from rumour and inuendo that the money is being mismanaged by the parent(s). It helps settle the minds of the people who donated so they know that the money will go where it is intended to go.

Like I said before, I am trustee of an account for a 10 year old, money he inherited from his grandfather which he gets when he's 21. I am still accountable how the money is spent if there is a need to use any of it before he gets it... But this way it keeps his parents 'clean' from any possible future strife that their child's money has been tampered with by them while in Trust.

A number of grandparents take out Trust accounts for their grandchildren and no matter how close they are to their own children, they do not necessarily give their children (parents of the child) legal right to access the money.

I was also thinking that maybe they think some people won't donate if they think GBC may be able to use it? ...so they were stating the fact that he can't? I dunno.

UT, it was reported that GBC's computer and mobile phone were confiscated at his home on Friday 20 April. It was not made clear who owned the computer and hard drive(s) seized at Nigelaine's place.

I realize they were there was computer taken from BC house on the Friday. But I also saw it reported that the laptop etc they took from BC seniors house was GBC'S also. I will try to find the link.

Ok..can't find it at the moment. I would swear I saw an article where it said it was GBC's laptop that was taken from the Seniors house... maybe I am mistaken, but I am positive I saw it....

I for one didn't donate to the trust fund but i did send a money order in a sympathy card. I preferred to do it that way because i wanted to know the money would actually get to the family for the girls. I didn't do it that way because of GBC i just felt that with a trust fund they would have to wait for the money. Where as a money order they can cash straight away and use it without having to wait

That's a lovely thing to do. :) I'm sure they appreciated it.

I bet Gerard would love to get his little paws on that trust money. I reckon he cant even have enough money to get the wretched yellowjacket cleaned, just in case business picks up.
