THE death of Mackay toddler Beau Frank Bradshaw is being treated as suspicious with investigators appealing for help from the public.

Six-month-old Beau, was found unresponsive in his family home on June 2 and was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital.

He later died in Townsville Hospital on June 4 ...

"As a result of that complex investigation to date, we are now treating the death of that infant as suspicious," Detective Acting Inspector Mick Searle said.

Death of six-month-old Queensland boy treated as suspicious

Police are now trying to piece together what happened, in a tragic case that has rocked the small community.

“Most specifically, we’d like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Illawong Beach on the morning of the second of June between 9.30am and 11am,” Detective Acting Inspector Mick Searle said.

He added: “There was no history between this family and the Department of Child Safety prior to Beau’s passing away.”

He confirmed that an autopsy has been conducted but wouldn’t comment on whether Beau had suffered any injuries or a suspected cause of death.

Earlier this month, Beau’s grandmother Joeleen Pershouse told The Daily Mercury newspaper that she received a distressed phone call from the child’s mother on the afternoon of June 2.

Who took this gorgeous baby to the beach that morning? It sounds as if he was healthy and at the beach until 11am, and by 2pm he was unresponsive and in a critical condition. Bleeding on the brain. :(

There is a comment on the named grandmother's Facebook page where she explains that he went to sleep then started fitting and vomiting.

Sounds as though he was suffering from a concussion, as the brain bleed was happening.

Shaken baby? Dropped baby?

Shaken baby? Dropped baby?

I'm assuming that's what the police are assuming, and the symptoms suggest a brain injury; he was able to donate his heart because he was brain dead, so I'm guessing nothing like poisoning, disease or envenomation. There's no indication that the child spent time with anyone but the family at any time.

That said, I don't get hinky feelings based on the SM of any family member.

Death of baby Beau Frank Bradshaw in east Mackay ruled as suspicious after he was found unconscious | Daily Mail Online

'We don't have anything to hide, we honestly don't,' Ms Perhouse-Yasserie said.

'We obviously know they are doing their jobs but we as parents don't understand why it's happening to a family that honestly would never hurt their children.'

...

The family-of-four had been to the beach earlier that day and upon returning, the kids had dinner, washed up and went to bed.

Ms Yasserie headed down to the laundromat because her washing machine wasn't working.

She then received a shattering phone call from Beau's father who told her that their son was unconscious before rushing home.

I wonder if it is possible that little Beau had an aneurysm. Very rare in a child, but not out of the question.
Unless there are indications of other injuries. I notice that the police did not want to comment on that.

A brain aneurysm is a weak spot in the wall of an artery in the brain that bulges outward. It is also called a cerebral aneurysm.
Brain aneurysms are very rare in children and may not cause any symptoms until they burst or rupture. Ruptured brain aneurysms can be life threatening and the child will need immediate treatment to minimize damage to the brain.
