Filing a false police report, etc.?
It is probably against the law to file a false police report.
I wonder who filed the police report ..... an oblivious mum?

BBM.
Unbelievable!
Also from the same link.
So it would seem that Garth was outside on the street 20 minutes before Chloe went missing! Man this just gets more and more bizarre. Did he in fact take Chloe somewhere and was inadvertently caught on cctv? That just doesn't make sense!
This photo of the front of the house also gives a better perspective of the distance between the car and the side of the house.

Locals say the girl and her parents regularly walk that same route from their house on the way to town.
Last week The Courier Mail reported that the vision appeared to indicate a child leading the way - as though it knew where it was going - followed by two men.
Good point about scrambling the money together TravelingBug. <modsnip>.
Can you get in trouble for kidnapping your own child, if you have rightful custody of them?
A horrible thought but was Garth so scared of the threats he'd received that, in a drunken stupor, he took Chloe somewhere to hide her or even more sinister, gave her to the people who threatened him. A case of "Here, take Chloe. Look after her and I promise I'll have the money to you by......"
Yes, I know it sounds ridiculous but so is this whole mess. :banghead:
I do feel that the threats Garth received had to do with one or more of his children being harmed. IMO, that would be the only reason he would report the threats to police. I don't think he would have gone to the police if the threats were aimed at him personally.

Hmmm ... I think more likely to blame the debt holder and have him put away, or scare him into laying off them .... to show him he could be set up.
They've all been pushing the line that it was someone who knew Garth, knew Chloe, knew where she slept, since day one. Why do that? They wanted the blame to be pointed at someone in particular imo. If Chloe was abducted, the perp could have been anyone. The debt holder is apparently a 'close family friend', according to MS.
Well I'd be careful who I befriended in the future, eh? If you have close friends who are capable of stealing your own babies for ANY reason on earth, then you should check your radar and watch who you let around.
He said Chloe’s secrets had led police to pursue a particular line of inquiry, but detectives were keeping an open mind and pursuing several leads.
But Insp McNab said Chloe had not referred to “daddy’s friends” when questioned by specialist police investigators who have spoken to her several times.
While I've always believed Tammy was shocked to have Chloe taken, I thought her comment "You were gutsy enough to take her, now have the decency and guts to bring her home was odd.
I would never goad my child's kidnappers by suggesting they might lack 'guts' by not returning Chloe. Not worth the risk of triggering a violent response from people that obviously do not have much of a conscience.
Having said that I believe both parents were elated to have Chloe back. I don't believe they were directly involved in her removal from the house. I do hope they make a fresh start with good health and leave the seedy stuff behind, now.
No, not if you have custody. Giving a false statement to police on the other hand is an offence.
