COMPERE: It seems that the gloves are now off in the fight over logging in Western Australia, with timber workers promising a bare knuckle fight. They also have the support of Wilson 'Ironbar' Tuckey. After a week which saw the first timber mill in the region close and hundreds of workers made redundant, a visit by the federal Forestry Minister has been something of a morale booster. Mr Tuckey has promised to keep fighting his Liberal colleagues until the forest policy is changed. This report from Adrienne Lowth.

DONNA ORR: We're going to fight because we're entitled to a living and we're entitled to live here, and we know what we're doing and we've done everything right and been kicked in the teeth. The greenies have broken the law all the way along. They've got accolades and awards, and that stinks. [Applause]
